  • I agree 100% tabs were too damn hard and I never had lessons, but I got rocksmith and it was the best thing money can pay for (game wise). Got my first Fender Strat about 2-3 months ago and didn't know how to play much (except wish you were here by pink floyd) but now I might not be the best but it helps a lot! I recommend this game to anyone and everyone!

P.S. That Strat is beautiful, I always wanted a black one, mine is off white with a rosewood neck.

  • @ch3dd4rch33z

Thanks for commenting, dude...I love my Axe, too! and Rocksmith! :)

  • Hey you don't need those books send right to me, I could get a real good use out of them. Guitar lessons are the most effect that is why they are the most expensive(My honest opinion).

  • ROCKSMITH FTW!!!

  • George Bush is that you!?

  • @Cipher1337

''You can fool some of the people all of the time, and those are the ones you need to concentrate on.''

—President George W. Bush, at the 2001 Gridiron dinner

  • @Cipher1337

    LOL

  • I loved my guitar lessons. If you have a good teacher and can stand the first 4-5 boring technique lessons you'll have fun. In all honesty though, I wish this game came out 12 years ago when I started playing guitar. It is some of the most fun me and my buddy have playing our guitars. I mean we have both been playing together for years and we can sit down and play this for hours and not get bored. Anyone who learns guitar from this will have a blast doing so. Have fun and rock on everyone!

  • any way you can learn how to play is a good way i taught myself with tab...other people learned with games or teachers so fn what they still learned either way :)

  • @AnodynexSea

    right on brother! :)

  • I love Rocksmith too...I made a couple vids including one of the Taddy Porter song you were playing. Great game. I played a lot in high school (~15 years ago) and am now playing regularly again ith this game.

  • @tanbrolo

I watched your vid, looks like you know what you're doing...I play on again, off again, but Rocksmith makes it fun...

  • the problem with rock smith is that your only playing other songs, the second best way to play is tabs, which will get you to the guitar lessons part, but because it doesnt look like chords, you tend to play trying to find chords, and that takes a while. i play tabs only because i couldnt take the classical way for after a year, plus they switched my teacher

  • @awesomepossum2244

dude, you're rambling...what "other" songs are you talking about, have you even played Rocksmith...just wondering...

  • @jbkJeff yes ive played rock smith, i actually sold it. but i didnt realize i put other songs, i really ment songs by other people, and after that you wont go anywhere because you only know songs, no scales or anything like that

  • @awesomepossum2244

Thanks for the clarification, but Rocksmith does teach you all the scales, it's called "Scale Runner" and it has all the scales in any key...

  • "Rocksmith for the win!" lol I happen to love Rocksmith, too. My wife hates it hardcore, though.

  • @SiliconSicilian

    right on, dude!

  • Guitar playing is more than all the things you are/were concerned with. You need to have a descent ear and just sit with the guitar in your lap, put one of your favorite songs on and just start picking notes till you find where the song starts and then pick it apart. You don't need to read music or know anything that a classical training would give you. The more familiar you become with the guitar and your "Ear-to-Hand" coordination get's better so will you. The game will end up holding u back.

  • 1st Tune that guitar, Rocksmith doesn´t teach you to do that?

2nd With Rocksmith you can Learn how to play (maybe) certainly the songs that ´re inside the game.. U cant compose, U cant try to play another stuff..

3rd What´s about if your voice pitch dont work with that song? do u know to traspose it? That´s a simple thing that you can learn with teacher in months.. and this videogame will not show you in your entire life.. You just want to play? Take Rocksmith.. u wanna learn? Take classes.

  • @jonasramosmartin

1st The guitar is in tune.

2nd You don't have to be so rude. Is that the way you are in person?

3rd I just wanna play my guitar, not sing.

4th You CAN play other stuff in the amp mode, which is very good.

5th I just want to play guitar for my own pleasure not to impress anyone else.

Thank you for watching and commenting.

  • @jeffkinkead sorry, i just didn´t want to be rude.. the guitar seems untuned.. (maybe the audio of video), as you said, you just wanna play your guitar (for fun) but if you wanna really learn, you need to take lessons, This games are very fun, i´ve played all of them.. but some people take the wrong idea that play a game and play an instrument is the same.. like those that buy a camera.. make few shots and call themselves photographers, i just want to specify differences.

  • @jonasramosmartin calm down guitar god. not everyone is as perfect as you.

  • @nemesisk38 Im not guitar god, i study every day and know that as far as you can learn from ear.. and play awesome, you cant replace the knowledge of taking lessons with a game. And this my friend.. is JUST that.. I dare you to find any famous musician (or even not so famous) that ´ve learned to play guitar with a video-game.. When you see your favourite artist playing.. there´re lot of work after that. work, not playing for fun. That´s the point i want to concrete.

  • @jonasramosmartin man, before anything else you have to play for fun. If they only played because they were good,I bet none of them would've lasted long. And yes, you are right,NONE of them learned with a game, because there wasn't any game like this when they started playing. I've been playing guitar for 3 years self taught since I can't afford a teacher or have the time to go to guitar classes. but this game seems to be very interesting. Anyway, have a nice day and ROCK ON!

  • ok im not saying this is a bad idea but ive taken guitar lessons for 7 years and trust it will help you in the long run. Does rocksmith teach you all the music theory you need to know, of course not. does it tell you how a major scale and chords are built, no.it shows you how to play parts of song that arent even the right part all the time, so instead of wasting your money on a dumb game go learn how to play the guitar for real, you will learn the aspects needed to play the real guitar

  • @KrazeFayde Someone's mad that he's only paying $80 to learn all he really needs to know about guitar.

  • Rocksmith can be a fun interactive tool but, in my opinion, it doesn't beat a GOOD teacher who points out detail and encourages you like a friend. Rocksmith is a whole lot of fun but there are many details that still annoy me. On top of that the lessons are pretty short and detail-less. I sure hope they fix those details for a sequel some day because, even though I don't consider Rocksmith the best learning tool I do think it's a lot of fun being the next step to guitar hero.

  • Rocksmith has been awesome for me, and I used to think it teaches you everything except where your fingers should be anchored. ...until I saw those little fingerprints. Sooo yep, Rocksmith covers everything.

  • @tehNach0

    Rocksmith does it all! :)

  • @tehNach0 Rocksmith is really fun and motivating but it can't detect details like a human eye or ear can. When you learn a song by heart on rocksmith and then you play it for real without the game you might notice your committing small mistakes (like the distance you bend a string, the speed you slide, the quality of your harmonics, etc ) that you'll need to master before really mastering the song. Also, there is a world of music theory out there that Rocksmith doesn't provide,

  • @chesster001 Of course, I agree. But with use of the internet, etc, no more money needs to be tossed into the equation. Music theory, transposing, sound quality, etc. can all be learned on the internet for free, and most people learning guitar don't care. (I will, but not now) I'm not worried about people not bending hard enough or sliding fast or slow enough.

  • @jbkJeff YES IT IS! I've only played one song, but playing that one song is awesome fun. It challenges me to get better and since I'm playing real guitar, I feel as though as I'm accomplishing something.

  • @DarkAssassin2259

    keep on Rocksmithin', brother!

  • After playing rocksmith, did you so happen to have sex with that woman? lol :P I'm just pulling your leg man, but I swear you sound like Clinton...I actually just bought the game and I'm trying to figure out if I should open it or not because it's either play this, or get my money back fully to put down on this sweet bass I played earlier today....AAAHHH decisions decisions decisions.....

  • @DarkAssassin2259

I Did Not Have Sexual Relations With That Woman! LOL, never been compared with Clinton...ha ha :)

Take my advice and KEEP ROCKSMITH, you won't regret it, it's so much fun...

  • Rocksmith is the guitar tutor I've been waiting for! It's great if you want to start learning guitar. As for myself I've been playing guitar for 3 years and after 1 month of playing rocksmith I notice a big improvement in my playing!!

  • @BraveMavrick

Cool, I agree with you completely...

  • i just got rocksmith had to stop playing because the fingers are hurting, im probley the dumbest person on the planet when it comes to figuring out how to play the guitar...this game is amazing, im acutally learning stuff, lessons are too expensive and instructors usually arn't that patient when it comes to idiots like myself....so if your completely retarded like myself and want to learn the guitar, theres no better instructor then rocksmith.

  • @Crazyman1212

I resemble that comment...lol, yeah right there with ya dude!

  • Lessons don't give anything according to me, especially group ones. Rocksmith is fun, sure may help you to begin guitar, but do not evolve fast enough if you already know guitar. Since I began to play 3 years ago with tabs, and that I've become pretty good with them, I think tabs are the best. Guitar Hero also help with dexterity. If you start I would recommand : guitar hero, rocksmith, tabs, way too difficult tabs. And now you're good :D forget lessons

  • @jessymathault

thanks for the comment, I agree with everything except the GH thing...I like scales for dexterity, just my preference...keep on playin' dude... :)

  • @jbkJeff Hope you get it down pat! Rocksmith can and will teach you!

  • tabs

  • rocksmith is awesome didn't teach me much but i enjoy playing it even my 20lessons in a hour guitar teacher thought it was fun even though he never took even a glimpse to the screen except for the score

  • I thought myself how to play guitar and bass 13 years ago and i really enjoy this game. A lot of the songs are different from tabbed versions but they still sound good. Anyone I've known to ever take lessons have always ended up with mediocre skills or flat out suck. I think Rocksmith is a way better alternative to shelling out cash for lessons, hell this is a one time fee and you get to play a game at the same time.

  • @alexinsc2008

    Keep on Rocksmithin' dude! :)

  • I'd like to call you my "Guitar twin" but that would be pushing it. Funny that your story is almost exactly like mine except mine is with Bass Guitar. Went to 2 lessons, gave up, got books and downloaded tabs... gave up. Tried the guitar 8 years ago, gave up after 20 minutes. Now I've invested around 15 hours and I'm LOVING IT! Keep it up because I sure will too.

  • @AMVayanefan I think there are a lot of guys like us out there...LOL, yeah man, loving it, I'm not very good but enjoy playing now.

  • I was just like you. Rocksmith really helped me out.

No, I'm not going to learn everything that there is to know about guitar by playing Rocksmith.

But I'm doing the 2 most important things on guitar with Rocksmith.

I'm having fun and I'm staying with it.

  • tune that crap

  • Guitar is fun and can be frustrating if you dont give it the required patience and practice. This seems to have the instant gradification factor every budding hero needs.

  • Well I feel like this is me know, the books dont teach you jack, you need a teacher next to you to teach you the guitar language. Thank you for posting this. I was also thinking of getting this game. Rock on dude.

  • @WallyGon

You're welcome and I highly recommend Rocksmith...It just makes it more fun to learn and play the guitar...

  • Dude you got guitar lessons, tried to learn from a book and still cannot play?

Sorry but then there is a chance that even Rocksmith can't do magic. Sorry bro

  • @realBenes after watching your videos, I'll just ignore your comment and suggest you get Rocksmith yourself... LOL

  • @realBenes YOU need rocksmith lol

  • @realBenes lol kid you are garbage at guitar kid hahaha you have no reason to try to dog on this guy jus cause he want to learn something that he likes lol so go suck a big one XD

  • Rocksmith will only teach you the basics, lessons and general interest to understand the magazine jargon are still necessary in order to be a good guitarist. Well, I see, at least you got the head bobbing down..

  • @GrimSchwede

Yeah, the head bobbing is the easy part, when those notes come flying at ya, watch out! This video was done "tongue in cheek", I love my Blues books and Youtube guitar lessons, but the Rocksmith keeps practice fun and interesting and it's a good way to learn a song, in my opinion...thanks for watching...Have nice day...
