@MsOctoberstorm Pretty much normal growth as long as I don't manipulate my hair. When I mess with it (weaves, braids, etc...) that when growth is stunted for me.
@FukkinBarbie Definitely stop with the micro, I used to have those as well, and it has pretty much taken out all of my edges. Another thing I did was stopped messing with it as much. Like now I don't flat iron or blow dry every time I wash, I stopped wearing weaves so much, and use least amount of products possible for a healthier scalp. I hope that helped some
@beauty2023 i agree totally with you, between micro braids and sew-ins my edges came out and my hair felt really funny when i took the sew in out, kinda limp and flimsy if that makes sense, but now that i have let the weaves go and stopped putting direct heat on my hair, plus had a big chop, my hair is fuller and feels thicker i plan on doing a video to show the progress, i had no idea flat irons or direct heat in general could kill your hair so fast!
@FukkinBarbie I guess everyone has different experiences, but I have never had my hair to be taken out because I was wearing micros or any kind of braids...I used glue too, and still no breakage...I think it's the method people use when styling their hair while it's weaved up, and how they remove the weaves...I have nice long and thick hair, and do all kinds of things to my hair that people always say take their hair out...Glue, braids, gel, spritz, heat, etc...Still no hair issues!
my hair is still thick , just a couple inches shorter. & micro braids never messed with my hair either. its just that my friend did them and put glue on my hair . and i couldnt get them out. she'll never touch my hair again .
@FukkinBarbie I know that's right! I had classmates that wanted to "play with my hair" and they were ball headed...I don't play that. They were trying to find hair to gel back and CREATE a ponytail while I had more hair than I could handle. That's why I encourage people to do research on how to do their own hair instead of letting other people who might not know what they are doing to do it. Sometimes you can't even trust the people in the salons with the certificates, which is a shame.
Also, people tend to over grease their scalp, and that cuts down the growth process as well...I told my ex bf's aunt one thing to do to her hair and it stopped breaking off and grew for the first time since she was a child, and she is in her 50's...She had horrible breakage and dry hair...If she can do it, then anyone can do it, I guess as long as they don't have Donald Trump genes...
Everyone doesn't have to go natural, stop using glue or wearing weaves because of those things...
@FukkinBarbie My beautician uses Affirm relaxer. Then when its time to wash I wash my hair then wrap it and sleep on it so that it can air dry that way overnight. You may need to bump it in the morning but for the most part it should be straight. It also depends on the thickness of your hair.
@rearea718 yea..i don't why my hair does that. I really don't want to cut it just to make it even, so I just let it grow the way it is. That would be a cute style though.
Hi! Yes I do use heat mostly when I go to the salon. I wash my hair twice a week to keep my scalp and hair clean and healthy, with KeraCare 1st lather shampoo & moisturizing detangleer shampoo, then deep condition for 20 min with KeraCare Dry and Itchy conditioner. After that I add chi silk infusion and abt. 10 sprays of Carol's Daughter black vanilla leave in. Then I use the Scarf method to dry (see Hairlicious page). and that's it. I'll sometimes add Paul Mitchells "The Conditioner" after.

My hair grows longer in the back then sides just like yours. Unless you cut it like that for a style.
