So why isn't there a racing series like the '60 Trans-am, which feature all these retro-looking Ford Mustangs, Dodge Challengers, Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac Trans-ams. Road-racing in America needs to get organised, it has been long overdue. The American road-circuits are some of the best in the world and they aren't well-used at the moment.

@TheGreatIndoors1979 Believe me, Trans-Am or some iteration of it, will make a strong comeback. But that will take some time. I want Trans-Am back. It is much more significant to racing in America as an overall craft and sport than NASCAR. Grand-AM looks to be like the LeMans Series but with more permissive rules. I think Trans-Am, once SCCA gets it together, will become America's DTM or JGTC, just much closer to the production cars.

i gotta say im a v8 only guy when it comes to muscle cars but the v6 has variable valve timing and direct injection and i think if you built it up with bullet proof bottom end and head work with a nice turbo i think that motor will throw down some really high horsepower. it would be the camaro version on the buick grand national.

I agree 100% I think the 3.6 internals will be mostly fordged except for the pistons which are cast but still have a pocket in the top so it doesn;t blow under boost depending on how thin the cylider walls are but I am guessing A good turbo setup would make around 550 HP at least.
