  • More, more video, dude...

  • my laptop has a 2,800 MB video card. is that good?

  • @nelbuscus Don't need more than 1GB really, unless your screen is beyond 1920x1080 which I doubt. The Graphics processor influences much more than the memory.

  • evga <3

  • Zotac always give you the same and/or better spec's for less money with a better warrenty....just compare any Zotac card to many with the exact same spec's.

  • Thank God I saw this video because it made me check if my PNY GTX 460 had a lifetime warrenty, and I just registered it :D

  • he said doodoo hehe

  • XFX FTW

  • ZOTAC With that Golden Doctor Manhattan

  • I personally had a bad experience with XFX. In the end, can you really tell how good a company's warranty is based on rumors and comments on the internet? I've heard EVGA is shit, EVGA is superb, XFX is the best, the smaller name cards are underrated, the small name cards aren't popular for a reason, Sapphire sucks, Sapphire rocks...bla bla bla. The only thing I can go off of is fine details about the warranty and how big the manufacturer's name is.

  • ZOTAC... I love gooooooooooooold...

  • yea i used to buy no soly based on warranty but was important in my desisions now i dont as warranty is only as good as the company take bfg for example i have a gts250 lifetime witch = 10 years they tanked and was told i no longer have a warranty pny took over the problem of rma's

  • can i use this on a LG E500 LAPTOP?? .D

  • @CommentChat if you have a big hammer you can get it into a laptop yes. it might need a drill and some duct tape too.

  • EVGA has really good warranty/support on there Video Cards

  • @zeke2400 yeah but who use a videocard more than 2 years anyway???

  • @razzp25 it helps with resale, if the company goes by serial # anyone can rma the card so if you sell it your buyer can easily get it replaced if need be

  • yup thats exactly why i am not buying ATI anymore there support is rubbish I had a faulty ATI pro card and they fobbed me off every time in the 3 years of warranty Nvidia have much better warranty/support

  • you can tell on the tabs that the crappy website was Palit

  • Lifetime warranty with premium price, anyway why would you need more than 2-3 year warranty, you will upgrade till then anyway.

  • @AngelOnez I had a card die on me after the first year, $300+ down the drain. Yeah, I'll pay $10-20 more for free replacement for your lifetime or the 2-3 years you may have it. I usually give my old card to a family or friend so the warranty is still useful.

  • XFX all the way.

  • I XFX only. yeah you have to register the card to get the warrenty but it's worth it.

  • I XFX only. yeah you have to register the card to get the warrenty but it's worth it.

  • Does Linus prefer Bing or Google?

  • Only 7 years :(

    Atleast in Europe

  • XFX!!! asus goes to =D

  • im assuming its the same as bfg witch have a lifetime its not a forever thing as long as its within 10 years your ok 11 soory buy a new card not a prob as none of these will be around in ten years

  • Well both Zotac and Palit are from Hong Kong so their site should list the Hong Kong office for the international site.

  • sparkle has excellent warranty. i lost my 9800gt to overclocking and overheating, so i rma'd and got a gtx 260

  • lol who in there right mind will buy a Geforce 480?

  • @asd2oo7 I did.

  • Definitely don't buy a video card without lifetime warranty. XFX has or had the best warranty of all of them, a double lifetime warranty, you and one other person you sell or give it to will have a lifetime warranty.

It's lame that you have to register in the first month or they don't honor it though, it's just a way for them to cheat you out of the warranty.

  • @jackburton2009 xfx warrenty only applies in north america,,,, sadly :(

  • What are you doing filming at 9pm at night?

  • Id pick EVGA :P

  • XfX cards have limited lfe time warranty.. What is limited mean??

  • @Thet3 it means some situations wont apply to the waranty like water damage, phisical damage or sometimes even overclocking

  • @Thet3 prob the same as bfg 10years

  • Vista is sooooooo old :( come on Linus

  • what are the results of a ati5970 in crosfire

  • nice vid. card

  • Comment removed

  • God Thank NCIX

Ill keep this in mind when spending 2200,- euros on a single gaming rig.

Thank you, you really opened my eyes

  • Zotac make the best nVdia chipset cards. I am running a gts 250, I shopped around and it had superior clock speeds. To bad the latest nVidia cards suck, Phys X is the most fps eating whore and I am saving for a 5850 :)

  • Still runing vista?

  • i think xfx customer service is great, they respond very quick to all my problems, got me a replacement card pretty quick.

  • XFX - FTW

  • when he said forums i thought he said porns

  • I was just in Vancouver, couldn't find the unboxing machine though.

  • the bad one he compares to is palit

  • Overclocking voids the warranty, yes?

  • @soccer4dummys any1 who has the money to buy a 400 series would overclock it so there's really no point lol

  • EVGA FTW!!!

  • all evga man.

  • ATI has Visiontek too, but that brand is lesser known.

  • Unfortunately, warranty length is not analogous to warranty quality.

  • ZOTAC Reminds me of what the weird cult in Dude Where's My Car kept saying.. lol

  • Zotac didn't honor the MIR from my GTS 250...

  • ...

  • little too commercial this one, you need to compare to mutliple competitors, check what voids the warranty etc. but well Zotac will be happy

  • Where is the raid tutorial?

  • Warrenty is always great with computer parts and accessories, there are so many things that can roflstomp your components at any time. Most manufacturers are good about replacing products and usually the warranty is free.

  • From ATI, XFX of course!

  • @GolzeD2009 i like msi but ive never had to actually use the warranty

  • the crappy one looked like palit to me, had a dodgy nvdia 5xxx series card from them ages ago, the fan just died and the gpu fried and they didnt want to know

  • XFX FTW!!!

  • Warranty for graphic cards is not something I've ever looked much into, because as a gamer, it's usually something you replace fairly often. So if my card failed, I would probably just buy a newer and better card XD

  • 0:38 did you really say "kaputt"? this is german and means the dame.

  • @Domowoi2 they have the same word...kaput is in german kaputt ;)

  • @JudasDevastator yeah i know im german but i didnt know that its the same for the canadian

  • @Domowoi2 WTF the dame??? Its means broken :S

  • So many XFX fanboys...

Look, XFX really USED TO BE one of the best, but right they produce low quality cards and their RMA is a nightmare.

Saphire used to be good too, but now they don't handle their RMAs themselves anymore, they have another company that handles that for them, which is a real pain to deal with.

And this is coming from someone who owns 2x Sapphire cards and 2x XFX cards...

For ATi, MSI makes the best cards and VisionTek has the best warranty for now.

  • what would you recommend,

I can get a asus 5870 for AU$476 which has a 3 year warranty, or I could pay AU$509 for a xfx. is there any other benefits of the xfx over an asus aside from the warranty?

  • @michaelkitselaar xfx have been really bad with their warranty support lately id go with something from gigabyte or asus

  • @michaelkitselaar asus is know for high quality

  • I gotta say, I love my double lifetime support. I'm an Asus fan, but XFX got my GPU dollar in this instance.

  • i've register my Zotac Gtx470 to ther official site and im still waiting them to activate my account. it's been a week ! the email goes: (from 17/06) still no any other email

Your request was sent to the administrator.

You account will be activated by administrator.

  • 1:48 You said Do Do

  • @MrRageaholic It's not a mistake. If it was the negative form it would be like: "The don't do." Now that it's possitive form is: "They do do."

  • Comment removed

  • should i get a powercolor 5870 w/ 2 yr warranty or an Asus 5850 w/ 3 yr warranty?

  • yeah eVGAs warranty is the best in my book :)

  • you said "do do" xD

  • EVGA FTW!!!! I don't buy nVidia card that isn't EVGA with a lifetime warranty.

  • that is pretty gooooood.

  • warrrenty means nothing now after your o/c guide lols :)

  • Awesome. I like companies like this one. I bought an ULTRA PSU, registered it online right away & I believe I do have a LIFE TIME warranty on it which is pretty sweeet!

  • EVGA is the best

  • it depends on how the card breaks too....

  • what if you will start to appreciation games and give them stars like souns: 8.3 * video 10* gameplay 9*... ???

  • 0:45 awesome mexican accent

  • Zotac sucks they manufacturing products are shit if you want quality and good warranty evga is the best or xfx is my other option for quality price and warranty =)

  • @micke1216 Asus is simply the best, no competition.

  • @12cyberspy12 agreed.

  • Your hair sure grew back fast! :-)

  • I had my Zotac 9800GT die on me. That was a heluva problem back then, I had to send it all the way to Toronto to have it replaced. I'd recommend too if you buy zotac, get better warranty.

  • Linus.....why are you using Internet Explorer.........

  • yea but when hardware dies after about 3 years its an excuse to buy better shit. so im never disapointed i just buy new shit

enless the producut lasts like 2 months

  • There's a reason why the EVGA cards are a bit pricier than bargain basement brands like PNY. Their cards are not necessarily better (they're marketed pretty well though), but their SUPPORT system when something goes wrong is better. They have 24/7 oh-shit-you-fucked-something-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night PHONE support. They have standard RMA that lasts a lifetime which is fairly straightforward to go with. They have CROSS-SHIPPING for a small extra fee. Plus their NA support is awesome.

  • time for that cut linus

  • What are some good ATI brands with good warranties?

  • @weggles best brand for ATI is XFX with double-lifetime warranty

  • @gitarzann actually, xfx is sucking right now with their quality and their warranty

if you want to know more, go on google and search "xfx denied warranty"

  • @gitarzann Xfx has sucked in quality recently. MSI and Saphire are the top of the line right now.

  • @weggles XFX had a good warranty....but when HD5000 came out, XFX started to suck...Sapphire is good for now.

  • XFX <333

  • please explain Double life time warranty from XFX

does that mean my son if he sees his card broken he/she could replaces it???

  • 500 dollars? Try 850, Denmark sucks

  • @Terinigan Faroe islands is even worse.. the prices are about the double of all the US prices. :(

  • @Terinigan ja, haha, og xfx' kølerskiftgarantiting gælder ikk i dk..

  • @nikosyv Sjovt at se dig her Nikosyv (:'

  • Lifetime ftw!

  • lol @ Linus saying "doodoo"

  • So the competetor is Palit which isn't that famous for support, warranties....etc so get something like eVGA warranty and do a comparison

  • if the card breaks then u will just wait for one month until they fix it :3

  • ATI = XFX

    nVidia = EVGA

Pretty simple for best warranty / support for the respective team red or green.

  • @AreleEvE for ati it is DEFINATELY not xfx, i had bad experience with them >.> go visiontek or something else...anything but XFX and sapphire..i don't know about the rest... i got an evga gtx480 now :D

  • @AreleEvE: Sapphire is way better than XFX, at least in europe.

  • @nexusgraphix sapphire warranty sucks here in the US atleast for me.

  • @AreleEvE this dude knows what he's talking about :D

  • @AreleEvE

ASUS is also very good because you don't need a receipt or invoice. Only the serial number on the card.

  • @AreleEvE and the other reason why i got xfx is the black matte pcb :D

  • @AreleEvE I think that

    ATi = Sapphire

  • @AreleEvE

    LOL @ XFX Support

  • I hit back when i saw internet explorer, and windows vista.

  • lol he's bashing Palit so bad xD

  • What's an MIR?

  • @AmH032uTuBe MIR= mail in rebate

  • @TechieTrevor - Thanks.

  • @AmH032uTuBe MAIL-IN REBATE

  • @AmH032uTuBe MIR = Mail in rebate

  • lifetime warranty? Well the card will die in at some point for sure, will they really replace a 10 year old card?

  • @GunSotsOverMe EVGA replaced my friend's gtx285 with a brand new 470. Shrink wrapped + retail box and all. ;)

  • which I voided by opening and cleaned my card and flashed the bios.

  • Go with EVGA! They have both lifetime warranty and 90 day step up program. They will even cover your card if you overclock it or repalce cooling system

  • Are you seriously using Internet Explorer!? As a web developer, I am now required to hate you.

  • @aldld It's probably a new install.

I agree with you though. xD

  • @aldld lmao

  • @aldld I believe that Linus has stated before that he uses Firefox personally. At work you often don't have a choice of what browser you use.

  • @aldld aw guess youve been out of the loop for a while..... IE9 pwnd Chrome in HTML5 tests.....

dont use IE either, but I think that IE8 and IE9 are fine and you dont have to build a website 'around' them anymore.

  • @KodessR and I just see that its vista and probably IE7, agreeing with aldld now

    :P

  • @aldld but it's probs just a quiqly installed OS so he didn't bother to download FF

  • @aldld Can't wait until IE9 huh? *Shudder*

  • @aldld It could quite possibly be a business policy to use internet explorer...

  • My EVGA GTX 260 had Life Time Warrenty.

  • what is RMA ?

  • @Teddy1307 A Return Material Authorization (RMA) is a transaction whereby the recipient of a product arranges to return goods to the supplier to have the product repaired or replaced or in order to receive a refund or credit for another product from the same retailer or corporation within the product's warranty period.

  • @Airwolf2030 ahhh thanks, in Germany it's called "Rückgaberecht" = to have the right to give something back and get either your money back or you get a new product.

  • yuck, windows vista and internet explorer

  • Requiring product registration to get the full warranty is illegal in Canada. All you are required to have is proof of purchase.

  • I like Palit as a company better though they have better PCB designs and they are one of the only board partners that make custom boards...

  • Vista and IE? Cmon, Linus. You know better :P

  • what is the tv ur using?

  • Bottom line: Palit SUX, Zotac FTW! :)))

  • what happens if we overclock this product ??!

  • Excellent video again. Love the vids Linus.

  • lol go kaputt

  • How is zotac's warranty in the us? compared to evga?

  • I'm viewer number 304!!

  • @2at8er wtf me to lol xD 304 views

  • I have a EVGA GTX 470 and I would do the same for a 480.

  • XFX, BFG, or EVGA those are the best card companies.

  • @kevinsdb1 Don't forget Sapphire and ASUS!

  • @kevinsdb1 BFG announced that they aren't making video cards any more.

  • viva Europe: a full product 2 year warranty is the legal minimum :D

But the tip about the RMA location is very handy, I have to remember to check on that the next time I buy something :)

  • XFX = double lifetime warranty.

    Best company.

  • @h2valex

XFX's warranty looks good on paper, but try reading some of the RMA horror storries on hardware forums around the web... XFX has been going down the drain for the last couple of months.

Also, they make changes to their reference cards in order to cheap out on components resulting in lower-quality cards even though they look the same.

  • lol instantly when he said a competitor with the address in hong kong i knew it was palit, tried RMAing once a budget card, which would have cost more to ship than to buy a superior card.

  • interesting title "Sequence 1 Project74 H 264 YouTube HD "

  • I thought you are going to talk about H264 codec or something like that ;)

  • Yay for incomplete title!

  • Is the card still as good as the Nvidia?

  • @TheAmefist what are u talking about it is a nvidia ....

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAmefist i know im not trying to be rude . IM just saying zotac is a nvidia product.in other words its a nvidia design .
