  • verry good!!!!!!!

  • @5boelie Made with CANNON HG 21

  • did u convert m2ts to avi/mpeg in vegas too? if so whered u get the codecs

  • @XJayStudiosX My workflow is a follows: 24p in the Canon at 24Mbps to cineform neo scene 24p, to vegas with magic bullet. I rendered this as a 720p .wmv, but pefer the full HD mp4 for youtube these days. Looking back at the video now, I would have done it differently with better adjustments to the contrast and levels- I learn as I go.

  • Love this, so melodic. I have the HG20. Both great cameras.

  • @dreamdigital85 cool- music from Sonicpro.

  • @jazzemagic yip

  • That doesnt really help as hd is several different resolutions and frames per second. Additionally it doesnt tell me how to convert the file which is what i was asking.

  • @burgosmatthew what is your specific question or problem?

  • Would you recommend this camera? I was looking at buying this or the HG20 and I'm not sure which to get?

  • The HG60 has a smaller hard-drive, but you probably don't need a hard-drive as massive as the HG21. I have never needed 120G, so the cheaper HG20 is probably a better choice in most cases.

  • @SuperAwesomeVideoGuy I have the HG20, ai recommend it. It's just like the HG21 except the 21 doesn't have the built in HD. So the HG20 can do both. Flash Cards and Internal drive. Very awesome camera. Both are good.

  • @dreamdigital85 Thanks very much!!!

  • What am I doing wrong? I have this camera but when ever I convert the MTS file the quality gets really degraded. What programs are you guys using to convert and what are your conversion quality settings at?

  • @burgosmatthew export it as HD

  • EXCELLENT

  • Thanks.

  • Great demo. One of the few that I have seen really demonstrate the manual focus features.

    Thanks alot.

  • Thanks a lot for the comment- much appreciated.

  • 00:22 you smoke your own green you filthy bastard :))

  • @GadgetVision indeed

  • @jazzemagic share sum :)

  • Me and my friends have been stuck using ooold sony handycams to make our videos for the past 9 years and im finally gonna get a new cam for christmas and I saw the hg 20,21,30...do u need any accesories to shoot at 24fps or is there an option built in on the cam?

  • sry

    what is magic bullet?

  • Just google Red Giant Magic Bullet. It's a grading application.

  • really awesome work buddy!

the bit of grain really helps the effect actually :P

but i just cant imagine spending 1000$ for that DOF adapter. im going to try to build one my self lmao

  • There are cheaper adapters online as well. I hope you find one that does the job. DSLR cameras with vid functionality is another option, though I still prefer the images I get with the letus.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • I have Magic Bullet Looks and rarely use it. It takes way too long to render video. I am on a quad core with 8gb ram and it still takes forever.

    Nice vid though.

  • It used to take me a long time to render in Vegas 8. Vegas 9 is quicker though.

Magic Bullet has a bit of a learning curve, but what a powerful program. When I made this vid, I barely had any idea idea how to use Magic Bullet. I pretty much just slapped on presettings.

I can do a lot more now- you can transform to an amazing degree with the software.

  • You can google the above listed programs to get more info. They all very easy to find info on. Happy surfing, and happy shooting.

  • I ADORE MY 64, my COMODORE 64

    I mean my vixia..

    Loved it!!

  • Thanks for the comment! I, too, love my vixia. The power of these little cameras never stops amazing me!

  • O_O! THIS IS BEAUTIFULLLLL! Is this just the hv20 alone, how did you get such superb quality? I'm getting my hv30 hopefully within the next month. Tell me what program you used to edit this, if you used any at all.10/10!

  • Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you liked it. I edited it on Sony Vegas with the help of Magic Bullet Looks- a color grading application. I had the HG21 fitted with a Letus Extreme DOF adapter, and I used two lenses. The 28mm prime gave the sharpest picture. In order to extract the true 24p from the 60i signal in the HV20, HV30 or HG21, you need to used an application such as Cineform Neo Scene, which is what I used. It also buffs up the color to 4:2:2

  • Thanks men!

  • btw Cineform Neo Scene also converts AVCHD and HDV to AVI which make editing a breeze.

  • You think I could get this quality with Adobe cs3?

  • adobe after effects is great for special effects and compositing, and has lot of color grading functionality too, but Magic Bullet looks is better overall. Magic Bullet is available as a plug-in for most NLE's. If you buy the HV30 and want to extract the 24p buried in the 60i dignal, you have to get something like Neo Scene from Cineform. Adobe Premier can deinterlace the 60i to give you 24p, but you will lose some quality and may suffer from deinterlacing artifacts.

  • Where can I get these programs your telling me about and how much do they generally cost?

  • Google has all you answers.

Magic Bullets Looks is quite pricey. It was developed by the visual effects supervisor of Sin City. It's a powerful application. Cineform is cheaper, but perfect if you have a 24p consumer-level canon HD camcorder. Vegas is the cheapest pro-level NLE- it's great!
