this map is such bullshit. I follow this step-by-step, even improving in a couple areas, and I still come in almost 4 seconds too slow. I've got 90 stars, only 9 maps keeping me from 99. I just don't understand how doing the exact same thing every time can result in such drastically different times. There was one run, I managed to almost get the time. The very next run, I was actually ahead of the ghost by a full second. Somewhere on the final stretch, I lost almost 2 seconds. Makes no sense.

@TaoOfKastro Your timing basically everywhere is crucial. If you time jumping over things, you can keep your momentum and run really fast, while if you miss by a fraction, you lose speed. That's what makes the game so hard.

@ubbecykelkedja My biggest problem on this run is that I can do it perfectly and not lose any time, even be ahead of the time needed, but still lose time somewhere, even though I don't lose momentum anywhere that I can see.

I dunno, I haven't tried played since posting this comment. Maybe I'll pick it up again at some point.

These should save about 3 seconds:

at 0:39, DONT coil jump, but try to land on the railing to keep your speed.

at 0:45, jump up those boxes so you can cut a straight line to the red marker.

at 0:50, jump over the rail as soon as you can instead of going up the stairs.

at 0:54, DONT jump up the boxes, but jump over the rail to the right of the boxes.

This is my favorite time trial. There's no annoyingly difficult maneuvers, just running as fast as you can.

dude for what i've seen in the video, it seems that the game it's a lot easier in pc than the xbox. you can maniobrate faith exactly like you want with the mouse, but with the joystick it's a little bit difficult... but it's a great game, I love it!!!

at least the main storyline is quite easy and even i was able to get 1 star in all timetrials (except that damn office)... and i dont think everyone should be able to get all 3 stars, now there is room for hardcore players

depends. I'm pretty skilled in general when talking about video games. But the game I always play is halo. the mirror's edge videos were just to challenge ourselves (Skyzo and I) and do something for the gaming community. So I'd say it depends, half skill and half practice.

i pretty much figured you would say that. i mean i am not great but i never considered myself a slouch either. i usually get any of the achievements i'm going for like aperture science or mile high club some shit but these mirrors edge time trials are hella frustrating for me. i guess on portal you could save at any point so if you aced one part and fucked the next as long as you saved you were cool but having to do a perfect 11 mins to get a speedrun is tougher than i thought anyway thanx A+

right on, thanks for the comment, i got the focus and learn parts but my fucking temper gets me pretty frustrated on challenging ass games like this, sure does feel good when you finally ace one though, and i mean lets face it if it was easy it would suck, but its easy to get caught up in yr. 50th try and forget that fact.
