  • i just wish he had a big "hit" when he was alive - without madame carey anyway

maybe this was the closest he got - maybe a little bit too ... sophisticated for the masses

  • Luther Vandross: The closest sound to heavenly, ever!!!!! This man has touched me with songs during the journey of my life than any other artist in my life!!!! Miss him so much and don't see anyone today in music that has even come close. Love You, Luther!!!!! In PEACE and LOVE!!!! Sonny

  • foxy brown "if i"

  • Real music here.

  • This is awesome, this never gets old, rest in peace Luther

  • He had no children? or women? It was too good

  • @chonychuckbass I think our beloved Luther was gay. To me, this song is very autobiographical. As a gay man, I know the lonliness of the life. For a public figure, particularly a singer of hetero love songs, coming out, must have been a difficult issue. However, this song says it. There is no reference to a woman to love, just "Any Love."

  • @122avis being gay is lonely wether being in public or like me, private!! trust me, being gay is the hardest thing u could ever be!! dont let all this its ok 2 b gay shyt fool u!! they all feel the same at sum point....

  • @dashenell2010 Maybe feeling alone is just part of the human condition, and I'm sure you know that people do feel alone even when they have partners, family, etc., It isn't (as you know), just gay human beings. I have found that as I have opened to friends--straight friends, family--that the isolation does dissipate. Even so, not everyone, gay or straight can or should be in a relationship. Some of us are just "by ourselves." I'm fine with that.

  • @122avis hmm, never thought of it that way, i loved your comment!! well spoken:: an i agree 100% !!

  • I love the choreography of the leotard dancers to this song!

  • I like this song and Luther was the master of soul - but I don't believe that Love exists, only in the minds of fools.

  • @Shuriken246 god is love,if love dont exist well then he does not, love is not your expectations so take it for what it is.

  • Luther is probably the only singer that could ever reach my soul.

  • any love...what a song..what a voice...

  • Also, many thanks to "johnmcgrath6827a", for sharing your love for the superb musical achievements of one of the most gifted singers of all times.

  • Luther, your search for love was rhetorical, for, I'm convinced that you knew, my brother, that where ever you or your music is, that is where the love is.

The day we mourned your physical death, the angels rejoiced upon your spiritual arrival.

Our lost, is Heaven's gain. Thanks for sharing your gift with us, with such respectful professionalism, love & humility.

As difficult as it sometimes can be, I still smile when I hear your songs.

    Thanks, for the lift.

  • god i love this song r.i.p. luther !!!

  • I also found this song when I was 16. I am 17 now :P

  • My mom is the cool chic leaning back on the car with big curly hair! she is so cool and she's gotten better with age!

  • i miss this kind of songs when there was magic in the airwaves. the world needs more songs like these today but the stupid thing is we're promoting songs that is talking about sex, money, glamour. Man sigh.. it doesn't help that MJ passed away. music will never be the same

  • Music to me gets no better than this...masterpiece luther. rip

  • I always loved it when this guy was on Arsenio Hall. He gave amazing interviews, it was like you were really seeing how he really is, not just a fake attitude for tv. He seemed real down to earth.

  • he is great, never saw him or Barry White, wish I had. I did see Lou Rawls in Peachtree City, GA. That was a great show, I could only imagine what a Luther Vandross show was like in person.

  • The VOICE of America!!!! Mr. Vandross u r always the best in heaven or here with us!

  • I also regret not having seen him in concert in Paris

  • I get weak but I refuse to cry I've got to keep holdin on be very strong @@ !

    That's kinda deep

  • I was 16 when I first heard this song and I fell in love with it at first sound; something about it touched me deeply. To this day it still remains one of my favorite, if not the favorite, Luther Van Dross songs; a prize that is hard to keep with so many contenders. One of my greatest and ever growing regrets is that I never got to, and never will, see him perform live.

Oh my lamenting heart! what has happened to music?

  • fav song

  • Can't hear anything but sensitivity in that voice. Will never be another like Luther.

  • my favourite..LUTHER LIVES!

  • WE MISS YOU RIP !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the lyrics just as touching as ever

  • RIP Luther ... what a voice .. The angels up there are soooooooooooo lucky ..

  • @taemurz agreed beautiful voice

  • Thank you! I was two years old and I love this type of music.

  • What year did this song came out?

  • reminiscing ... about my teenage days - they were a real struggle for me - but this great man shone a beautiful light that touched me - really missing him.

  • RIP Luther.World misses artists like you, artists with true talent and passion.

  • ur, right...I LOVE Luther sooooo much, and this is my favorite song and I don't know why but EVERYTIME I hear it I start to cry, especially when he says, "SUDDENLY OUT OF THA CLEAR BLUE SKY, A LONELY TEAR STARTS TO FILL MY EYE" there is NO R&B music nowadays that would make me feel emotion like people like Luther and the rest of all that GREAT old skool R&B............just some "FELL GOOD MUSIC" very romantic, and I miss it, I miss Luther "tear" :( R.I.P Luther you are soooo missed!!!!!

  • I miss you, Luther.

  • everyone is searching for love, everyone has problems these days from the rich to the poor, sorrow doesnt care who u are

  • I love this song, and i love him. He was such a gentleman!

  • Such a shame he's no longer with us. What a great talent.

  • ain't that the truth

  • :) :)

  • i love making love to this song

  • LOVE YOU MR VANDROSS,, ROGER

  • "If there is a Heaven, I know he's teaching Angels how to sing & showing them how to love."

I've never heard the man speak ill of a single soul and never heard any legitimate criticism towards him.

Even after the stroke, Luther could still OUT SING 90% of the typical "moaners, whiners & rapid fire yappers" we hear on local radio.

"Thanks, Luther...for living it (life) right the first time...God loves you...Peace!"

  • Luther was born with a gift....and gifts are meant to be shared...those that are gifted make it look simple and effortless....... and so it was with Luther.......there will not be a replacement for him.........as he was one of a kind...the smoothest male vocalist who brought beauty and love to many many lives indeed.......no angel could sing any sweeter than Luther.......I am sure heaven is smiling as it hears his serenade.........Love and Peace to you My Brother....Rest Well

  • @myConscious

You are so right..Luther was one decent human being...Never complained or criticized anyone..and even accepted his failing health with dignity and grace

His life was all about love..he's still very much wwith us through his music

  • @myConscious you got that right!

  • Pure class, absolute SUPERSTAR, R.I.P. Luther.

  • God Luther Vandross is friggin' amazing... I miss him so...
