@mmaconachie - yeah, and I'm finding out more and more. Denise Welch (Tim Healy's real-life wife) plays the blond in Oz's flat when he goes back to Newcastle and doesn't know Marjorie's moved, and Kevin Whately's real-life wife plays Dennis's girlfriend Christine in series 2...and of course everyone knows Jimmy Nail's real-life sister plays Dennis's sister. How could you miss that - she looks like Jimmy Nail in drag and she's twice Tim Healy's size!
I had a little trip to The Barley Mow (aka The Windmill in Redmile) and it's so different now from when shown in Auf Pet, the carpark shown where Wayne is sitting at the end is now a garden
What I like about Oz is his unfailing ability to see and then react to trouble as it arrives..

I just read somewhere that the baby in the farmhouse scene was Jimmy Nail's kid, Thomas. Not sure if it's true, mind.

@Andraste77 I read that as well. Also, Neville and Brenda's daughter is played by Kevin Whateley's real-life daughter in this series.
