If you spawn it using console, you'll notice it has unscripted eyes that follow you no matter where you go. Even behind him!

Did u guys know the onlt reason the Ichythosaur Becomes Hostile is because u either shoot at it or come to close and make it feel uncomfortable so it will bite u and swim away. so to avoid attacks,try too look out for them and dont shoot!

Of course. You need any kind of Source game to run Garry's Mod int he first place so owning and playing HL2 should not hinder Garry's Mod in any way. It should actually enhance it! Giving you the maps from the story and such :P

Because you have to actually OWN a source game for Garry's Mod to work. Not a free demo of one. You have to buy a game such as half life 2, HL2: Episode 1, HL2: Episode 2, Counter Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat: Source, Portal, or Half-Life 2 DeathMatch. I don't know if you can use Garry's Mod with Left4Dead or not, I don't think you can though.

Yes it is, but it acts like the retail Half-Life 2 Ichthyosaur and remains stationary when the player moves towards it.

The Ichthyosaur in HL1 was a pretty good (and scary-ish) monster to add, it should have made a bigger appearance in HL2

I think you must have mistaken it with leeches, I know they're are swarm of leeches that kill you in moments, but I have only seen them in the lost coast and that bridge level where you climb underneath it to turn down some shields. I do know that the itchysaur may be in the next chapters since they are not yet extinct but very close to it, actually never mind I think that the one in the teleportation sequence is the only one left, I think that I read it in a book somewhere.

SMGJohn claims to have seen the itchysaur in the final product where you get into the chopper battle (with the airboat) he says if you jump out of it somewhere, they're will be an itchysaur, yet I highly dought it mainly because I bet they're would be a video of it or information on such a "easteregg" so sorry to have confused you.
