  • Sabonis, was arguably the best big player to ever play the game (before NBA days) and a solid #2 to ever play the game.

  • SABAS cooll

  • this video is from 6 years ago could you make a new one with improved quality

  • This guys passes were amazing for a big man. He never look like he was rushed or having a bad game. He played like he knew what he was going to do before he did it. He looked more like a tackle more than a center, but his style is something the NBA will never forget!!!!!

  • good for him he entered the HOF

  • quality realy sucks

  • blet video kokybe tai as byby dejau....

  • @lietuvonis1 O ko tu blet tikiesi iš 1985 HD?

  • @TheRtXaS jau 2011 tai tai pasigooglink kaip wiskas wyksta tada susimokek mokescius ir sedek youtubej antanai ;))

  • So, which pixel is Sabonis?

  • good video great player just wish the quality was better

  • its funny to think he was on the jai1-1b1azers....he seems nice haha....but i cant be1ieve nobody has footage of when rasheed threw a towe1 in his face....shit was stupid

  • His passes were always smooth as butter.

  • Not many people out side of Blazer fans know how good he actually was in the NBA, even as hobbled as he was. Great shooter, great post up game, best passing big man ever, great rebounder and was a real presense defensively inside.

  • :31- dunk over the lil man and broken backboard. Not too bad hahaha thatll teach the lil guy not to jump next time

  • Love me some Sabas.

  • WHAT A PLAYER!TEARS FILL MY EYES AS I SEE THIS GREAT VIDEO..THANK YOU SABAS,THANK YOU FOREVER!

  • soundtrack is the great song, but not for mvies about basketball =/

  • portland good have won championships if he came earlier

  • @XxSaf3HandsxX Portland had rights from 1985. It would have changed the Lakers-Celtics dynasty of the 80's and Jordan would most likely have only 2 or three rings. Its unfair to Magic, Bird, and Jordan however, it would have changed the history. Portland had fundamentally sound teams that entire time, Always just a peace of the puzzle from being a huge part of NBA history. Blazers always seemed cursed after 77.

  • best asist center ever

  • @scapicoco thats olympic type basketball.....

  • ok he was bad ass before his injuries but fuk that he would not have been better than Robinson. Robinson was on another level

  • @mlo9357 Find center who could pass better than point guard, huh.

  • @Coldberg Vlade Divac

  • @Coldberg Gasol, just look for some of his assists on youtube.

  • @AlonsoDomCab who is Gasol? it is not same level.

  • @ZhylvisLT I don't know, just a random guy who has 2 NBA rings, for what i know sabonis has 0

  • @AlonsoDomCab i know one ukraine guy who has 2 NBA rings (Stanislav Medvedenko former Lakers). Rings means nothing.

  • @ZhylvisLT Yeah, but since Gasol went to LA, the lakers got a final, the same season he arrived, after losing in the 1st round of the playoffs the 2 last years and not even getting in the playoffs the one before, and 2 rings later on, he was decisive.

  • @AlonsoDomCab Well, i agree with u, Gasol is solid player but not so great as Sabonis was. Does u think Gasol will be euroleague season MVP at 39 year old? Gasol is 31 right now yeah? Sabonis played his rookie season in NBA at this age.

  • @ZhylvisLT Gasol is a beast and dominates European basketball, he left very early in his career to the NBA, and he went to Memphis. Should we blame him for that? As far as I know, Spain has achieved today its third consecutive Eurobasket final, today in the semifinal he made 22 points, 17 rebounds. Those numbers in Europe are MUFUCKING HUGE. We play here only 40 minutes, and there are a lot of rotations. He pisses on all other 4s in Europe. And so he will against Diaw in the final.

  • @panetero yeah of course he is the beast, but not same level as Sabonis were.

  • @mlo9357 Just another koolaid drinking NBA fan.

  • WTF... ball can be block then off the backboard? just asking cause i certainly saw one...

  • Sabonis was/is easily the best euro player of all time.

  • he looks like a cheat code !

  • 傳奇一代中鋒!! #11 Sabonis!

  • sabonis actualy said after he was included in hall of fame "if I knew that playing in nba was so easy I would have come to nba sooner"

  • @rmnts Sabonis, like most got caught up in the propaganda of the NBA. The NBA, greed, and Shaq, single handily turned basketball into a circus type game. Basketball is a finesse game, requiring skills and strength establishing position with and without a ball when executed to design is a picture of beauty no other sport can emulate (Trailblazers 77, Lakers with Magic, Boston with Bird, and so many more). Miss-use of strength, and designed rules has transformed the game into something Ugly.

  • tokiu kaip arvydas sabonis, dziaugiosi butamas lietuvis !!

  • Hi is Lithuania Legend

  • RIP big guy

  • @billy1496 he is not dead stupid guy :)

  • Is there a chance that you still have this mix in your computer and can re-upload it? Today there resolution and the quality of the videos stored in Youtube are better.

  • 1:23 goal tending. Sorry sabas.

  • Rasykit lietuviskai, vis vien tik lietuviai sabo vid. ziuri.

  • pixels war!!!

  • For me he was a very SMART player even when he did the nba old and shit, he was a very good player

  • @greatlion1981 Now he can join Drazen Petrovic ( another politically motivated charity case ). Hey you know any Venezuelan players that couldn't cut it in the NBA that we can elect into the HOF? That would sure look good.

  • @86celtics

stfu u fuckin lil dick faggit asshole

ne self respectin motherfuckin celts bird fan wouldnt spew such pussyish lil tiny wimpi pussy ass dick BULLSHIT out of their lil mouths.

sabat was an AMAZING player and one that rivals walton or bird in every way possible.

and if u knew nething about stats his stint and shit in the nba rivaled the top centers as far as win shares and per per 48 mins ASSHOLE!!!!

JUST GOES TO SHOW WAT U DUMB LITTLE PASTY WHITE BOIS KNOW (& im white)

  • @ry3304 You actually have the nerve to compare this mediocre player ( at least in the NBA where it counts most), to Larry Bird who had a REAL hall of fame career? What a loser you are. You must be from Eastern Europe somewhere to make such a stupid comment. Besides being mediocre in the NBA, he wasn't even a full time starter you fuckin shithead. And don't compare him to Shaq any more because that's just too much of a waste of my time to respond. Idiot.

  • @86celtics He still got inducted to the Hall of Fame, enough said. The Cold War robbed him (physically) his best years. Having a great International career also warrants Hall of Fame status. NBA is not everything in basketball.

  • @86celtics Leave Drazen Petrovic out of it. Your just another NBA Koolaid drinking illiterate of the game of basketball.

  • He deserves to be in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Like Craig Kilborn said from his SportsCenter days "He's not my Vydas or your Vydas, he's Our Vydas!!!"

  • This guy just got elected into the NBA hall of fame? He wasn't a great player in the NBA. His career statistics don't even deserve consideration. Another clear case of the hall of fame watering down their shrine in favor of promoting an image of multi-culturalism. A women's college coach made it in with him. What a joke.

  • @86celtics You should see his numbers in his all career not only in the nba by the way find his age when he was a rookie un portland And by the way a woman gives you life?!?! WHAT A JOKE

  • @greatlion1981 You should see the difference in talent level when he was in Europe compared to the NBA. His '92 Lithuanian olympic team was crushed by 51. And yes his injuries blah, blah, blah. Whatever. Everyone wants to play the what if game. What if's don't belong in the hall of fame and neither does 12PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 1BPG in a 7 year career playing with the best of the best. An American with those mediocre numbers who becomes a star Europe as a NBA reject would never get elected.

  • @86celtics I remember you that is not the NBA HOF, is the BASKETBALL HOF!, Sabas will be inducted

by all his contributios on Basketball, since his days playing in Lithuania, through Spain and finally the NBA,

please do not spit words without a little acknowledge

  • @PsychoRealm9 Actually for the most part it IS the NBA HOF as the vast majority of inductees had stellar NBA careers. Most Americans who play in Europe are either washed up, or couldn't make it in the NBA. An American who can't cut it in the NBA but goes on to have a stellar career in Europe wouldn't get into the HOF. Baseball does it also. They want black players and Latin American players ( MLB considers them separate ),to the point of electing individuals with suspect stats (Joe Morgan).

  • @86celtics wha wha wha

  • @86celtics

u are a fuckin asshole man wth is wrong with u kid?

u unclassy pussi WANNABE celts fan. larry bird takes a shit on ur gave asshole.

/'sabat was amazing and was one of few guys who could guard shaq.

his def rtg was like fuckin 4th his rookie year already at age 31.

u clearly know SHIT and should be ashamed of urself pussi

  • @ry3304 And if Shaq was forced to play by the rules that were designed for the game of basketball Shaq would not had made the NBA, Sabonis finished exposing this fact. The Sacramento Kings had already exposed the greed and immoral ethics of the NBA. The NBA would be something else had they not covered up refs were paid and expected to be partial during key game. The NBA is a racket and you see that today. Dallas did prove good guys can still beat the corruption.

  • Sabonis was a great player. He is the Russian Bear and would have eaten up Shaq in the high post all day with his perimeter shots. Oh what could have been.

  • Sabonis the best center in the history

  • he was/ is my favorite player ever

  • lol i remember when he was 40 years old and became MVP of the year. pretty amazing for an elderly

  • does basketball was so bad back when,as the video cam quality?

  • have u ppl forgotten about Dirk????lol

  • @Lebron4MVP4Ever Dirk is far far away from Sabonis,Sabonis was much better even with his injures

  • @deception91 you have to be kidding me Dirk is easily the best 7'0 foot shooting big man of all time bar none

  • wow 7 3 and moving like that thats just amazing

  • Sabonis came to NBA too late in his career. Younger him would have owned.

  • which pixel was he?

  • SUPER filmas, didžiausia pagarba kūrėjui.

  • two thumbs up for you, your also a greatest player for me.

  • 2:00 The Admiral just got court-marshaled

  • guy is a legend

  • I wounder how good he would have been if he was healthy

  • Arvydai, kai aš tave tariu, ašaros man trykšta iš akių...

    The best and the only

  • Seems like he fit in perfectly with that Portland team. They were really tough back then.

  • @Ragtime4 With todays rules the Blazers could have brought him to the league back when they had

    Porter

    Drexler

    Kersey

    Williams

Add a young Sabonis to that team and they are beating the Bulls.

  • @freakyfatdog you sir, speak wisdom!!

  • SABAS THE BEST!!!

  • for me the best center is GREG OSTERTAG!! HE SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME!

  • sabas is one of the best centers in all times and if he have no injures he probably be the best

  • Welcome To Arvydas Sabonis poster David Robinson :D

  • Sabonis The best player ever !!

  • lithuania is the best

  • serbia :)

  • lithuanian team is the best

  • After watch this,i turst he was the best in that period

  • imagine when he was able to play in the nba when he was in his prime.

  • dude he was a legend i enjoyed seeing him play here when i was younger

  • sabonis=ray liotta

  • Injuries are part of the game.

    If...only,when,but,maybe.....

If you are great you are great!

  • I am from lithuania Sabonis is too i very proud what he did... lithuania Won gold we can say becouse in SSRS team only 1 or 2 players was not from LITHUANIA! And Arvydas Sabonis is best player ever!

  • Incredible video clip,I have never seen that moment then SABAS use to play for SSRS.He was the greatest European player in all the time.

  • I was just born when Sabas was a real star in Lithuania, so I had never saw he playing on the other side of ocean... I saw him only when he came back and played in Zalgiris again, but then he was 40years old...

  • Sabonis was all time best europe basketball player and i think he is still now

  • @tadeex I don't agree with you. Nowitzki ang Pau Gasol play at the really high level. Before injuries Sabas was as good Dirk who was named as 05-06 mvp. However Sabas started playing in NBA after injuries. That's why he isn't mentioned as one of the greatest european players.

  • @tadeex dirk is better

  • @tadeex dirk is better

  • @tadeex don't forget about galis and petrovic though...

  • @tadeex sure, don`t forget Dirk, Pau, Vladi, Petrovic, . Dirk is the best European basketball player of all time.

  • @tadeex I agree, Nowitzky had a better NBA career, but in my opinion Sabonis is the greatest european baller.

  • @PhillyDippy5 i agree i think if Sabonis had played his whole career in the nba he would be a top 4 center of all time in terms of nba history

  • @shaq430 Well, i don't know top 4 but for sure top 6-10

  • @PhillyDippy5 who would be btter than him other than probrably wilt, russell and kareem??? not arguing just wodering..

  • @shaq430 Olajuwon, Shaquille O'neal, not because of their talent because Sabonis was that talent but becasue their strenght.

  • @PhillyDippy5 read my other post

  • @shaq430 We are talking about Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon Shaquille O'neal, Moses Malone, etc.

  • @PhillyDippy5 oh... idk sabonis was probrably a better passer than all of them and was more versatile because of his shooting range.. if he had jooined the blazers in his prime for example you could possibly be talking about a dynasty with Sabonis added with all stars like Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, Buck Williams and Cliff Robinson... he could IMO havebeen better than shaq hakeem and moses if he had gone earlier in his career...

  • @shaq430 You don't need to tell me anything i'm a fan i just love classy player like this, but i think he every player has its career and the rest is just arguing

  • @PhillyDippy5 lmao im not trying to tell you what to do calm down i was just trying to have a CALM discussion about where sabonis couldve stood in history if he had came to the nba in his prime sorry for bothering you smh..

  • @shaq430 I don't believe in that,i'm historian and i think things are like they are but if you want to argue i just will tell you that he would be injured anyway, and if he wouldn't have injured he would be unbelievable but not better than Olajuwon,Jabbar,Chamberlain,or Shaquille O'neal, more talented but you need more strength in the NBA. I think he's the best european palyer though.Did you ever see Jabbar in his prime? lolhe was the most gifted player ever, & ask Wilt Chamberlain bout dominate

  • @PhillyDippy5 Sabonis was actually VERY strong at about 292 lbs so i think he would be stronger than most nba big men if he would have left in his prime and i dont think he wouldve been injuered had he left in his prime IMO.. I think if he would have gone to the nba in his prime the only centers that would have been better than hime would be wilt, kareem, and russell but like you said we cant change history so well never know.. and yes kareem was extremely dominant in his prime with the bucks..

  • @shaq430 Sabonis couldn't do better numbers than Hakeem Olajuwon or Shaquille O'neal, Arvydas was more like a team player.

  • what are you talking about you can't decide which player was better by watching one match. basketball is a team game and team effort counts as well. Both players were good. Best of their times. and thats it :)

  • but true in that game:Robinson 19pts,Sabonis 16pts.not 11pts

  • @antzheng 0:33-0:50. After the match Sabonis asked to a magazine for the photo of that spectacular dunk, and they gave him a big poster.

  • @digiuseppericcardo

quei 16 punti robinson se li ricoda ancora tutti perchè glieli ha schiacciati in testa così forte che gli fa ancora male!

  • Sabas Hook!!!!!

  • he proved what white man can jump and play in nba!!! respect.

  • I never knew Sabonis played for the Winstons..

  • Arvydas Sabonis was awesome, one of the best shooters and passers, I'm sad that he retired.

  • so am I, but i was always worried that his legs would fall off every time he stepped on the court.

  • one of the best passing centers of the NBA... could have pawn so much if he entered the NBA earlier in his career...

  • HE POSTERIZED DAVID ROBINSON #11 in the olympics......great stuff SABONIS!!!....watta a true talent!

  • one of the best baskertball players of all the time and so far the best player in Lithuania - a true legend.

  • @worras2007 We were lucky in Madrid =) some years to enjoy his greatness, in all his ways

  • i really miss watching sabonis, i still get mad we never got to see him in the nba in his prime, some guys have said he would have been one of the top 3 centers of all time

  • injured was knee

  • My man :)

  • why? what injury did Sabonis suffered from?

is it an arm injury? a leg? a knee? an ankle?

testicle? eye? ear? nail? stomach? or brain injury? could anyone tell me.. please..

Sabonis is such a great player.

    no doubt about it.. :-)

  • lets say tha he has half left after 1988 :P

  • he injured both his achiles(nobody thougt he gonna walk again properly)And he had knee problem aswell.

  • SUPERMEN SABONIS

  • it's pleasure to watch him play. the way he handles the ball, amazingly gifted man.

  • SaBaS the best

  • this is a real fucking basketball player.

  • Genius...

  • I love big Z but sabonis was an animal. Wisdom...

  • not in rela madrid,before

  • his best years were in real madrid

  • what the hell is up with the frames skipping?

  • I've watched basquetball since I was a kid , And there isn't a center to pass like he does. he is really great but he didin't have the spots in the correct time

  • great video.... great...

  • 2:39 2:53 4:45 omg. Sabonis was simply the best player ever. Sometime the destiny is so unfair... if that guy wasn't injured so badly he easly become the number one.

  • paskutiniame epizode(trail blazeriu) kai Sabui plaukai pasistoja, biski veidas uznesa i Marciulioni

  • I never thought I'd say this ab a sports vid but...simply beautiful. I live in PDX and we were lucky enought to see his great play during the 90s and early 00s. He was also a very humble and greatful man. Good work

  • galis the great aris thessaloniki .sabonis best

  • It's a damn shame Sabonis never got to showcase his talents in the NBA in the prime of his career. Even in his mid-30s, after being plagued by injuries, he was still putting up 16/10, and guarded Shaq just about as well as anyone else in history. If he had played his whole career in the NBA, there's no doubt in my mind that he'd be a top 5 all-time center. Best passing big man of all time, terrific shooter, shot-blocker, rebounder, everything. Long live Arvydas Sabonis.

  • And if he didn't get that nasty injury.

  • @cmason619 When Portland drafted Sabonis it wasn't easy to get those guys over to the NBA. He also was a man of loyalty and Portland only had one executive pushing to get him over. Plus all big men drafted by Portland are or become cursed.

  • Without early injuries he would have become the best center in the world

  • Es el mejor pivot de la historía

He´s the best center of the history

  • El más inteligente en la pintura, con lesiones ha sido el pivot más técnico.

Sin lesiones tenía el potencial para ser el mejor jugador del mundo, velocidad, inteligencia, tiro, físico, técnica....

The best inteligence in the floor, with injuries he is the most technical center:

Without injuries he had the potencial to be the best player of the world, speed, inteligence, shot, technical

  • Top 10 centre of all time. No doubt about that.

  • iM a Big Guy So iM aLways stuck playing center, but i always try and play like Arvydas Sabonis,to me he's my favorite player.

  • He was...he is ... he will be the BEST CENTER IN THE WORLD!

  • Chemara tu chia?

  • Best4 ever in our hearts

    Lithuania.

  • sabas from lt!!!

  • he should be one of the 50 greatest player in the nba

  • Love this game.. Sbas the reason.

    Italy.

  • simply.. the biggest

  • Arvydas Sabonis if your reading this,Man your simply the best, thers no more nba player in the league right now that plays like you.

  • it was pippen's fault why they didn't won the nba championship, pippen can't guard kobe and he was trying so hard and trying to be that "i'm the guy w/ championship rings so follow me" guy. steve smith was enough back then they should've not listened to pippen.

  • definitely way better than divac, really amazing, divac always try to get away by flopping
