well , when I just came to the USA ,they started calling me ,On the time nobody had told me that I have to be overcareful with my data ....I had a wrong information about the American real things. Generally it was women calling me by my name ...telling me that they have to work out some identity issues bla bla ...my English was terrible ...in one word ..I was a perfect target.

Yeah, I've got some Jamaican guy calling me for the past 2+ months, twice leaving a message on my cell phone. 876 area code. He could barely speak English but the gist of it was to call him back. No reason for calling was given. Sometimes he calls 5 times a day. I just use a block application, which bounces the call to voice mail without the phone ringing. Not ideal, but best I can do, short of changing my cell number. Very likely the old lottery scam scenario.

Canada here: 8-10 phone calls over the past week, 4 of which were in the last 12 hours. From an 876 area code, Jamaica. I've never picked up the cell phone, i'm not about to incur some obscene long distance charge. They have left one voice message; 2 Jamaican women yapping to each other and laughing.

The phone block application I have for an Android phone only sends calls to voicemail, other apps. pick up/hang up on caller. Either way is not ideal.

I got a call for computer assistance, its their 3rd attempt to get me. I work in I.T. so I immediately knew, But this time I probed it out. It got to the point where I was put on to another women who started to swear at me, calling me an efing lyer and dog constantly and why I was wasting their time. But also i think whenever people fill out their information to win cars at malls and stuff, i was told they sell your phone number and thats how they make money to give the car away 5 years later. Everytime they call me they always with hold the number, or it displays as "Unkowen" "Private" or "International", the best thing i can do is keep them on the phone for as long as possible and hopefully this will cost them a huge amount on their phone bill.

When I called the FCC, the lady took down all the info I had, the number was 877-382-4357, HB you got more info out of him than anybody, you should totally call and give them the link to the video. When I called they had JUST shut down a similar operation and where these guys are saying they are from the government they can get in BIG trouble.

@songbird8605 well i did google the area code and i saw that they were washington dc numbers but i thought he probably just gave a fake number with the correct area code. i didnt report the dc area code numbers because i wasnt sure if he was just throwing random numbers out to me, since he gave me a different number at the start of the call even though they were both similar number

@HBlocal Well I did my report online and there isn't really a place to give your account of what happened. It's kinda like multiple choice and since they said where they were calling from, even if bogus, and gave a name then they aren't breaking any rules. Messed up if you ask me.
