Airswimming follows Persephone and Dora during the 50 years they are imprisoned as moral imbeciles in St. Dymphna’s Hospital for the Criminally Insane through their release into a shared apartment in the years following their incarceration. With a blond wig, the music of Doris Day, and a singular form of synchronized swimming, Persephone and Dora rise above their circumstances and forge a life-long friendship. Airswimming explores love and the power of the human spirit with humor and compassion.
