  • Im interested! This looks REALLY good! My only gripe is the redesign of the kid. He looks like he's from Final Fantasy or something. I was expecting the designs to be closer to the characters from AstroBoy or TMNT

  • when was this trailer released?

  • Is this a real thing? I never heard of it.

  • It's a pity imagi went under, Black Ox looks fantastic

  • imagi, i don't know much about gigantor and im not really a fan, but if you put more people through the torment of a shitty film like astro boy i'll destroy u! i'm all for remakes and reimaginations but you completely raped the astro boy mythos to make that pile of shit. that is all.

  • O_O-fanboy mode actived-OH MY GOD GIGANTOR HAS A MOVIE -dies from the epicness-

  • @nieves99 Probably never. Imagi Animation, the studio that wa going to make this movie, went bankrupt and shut down a few months ago.

  • is this movie is out now how can i get it

    pls help me

  • Why didn't I ever hear about this?

  • What will happen to this & the Gatchaman adaptation now that Imagi's gone belly up?

  • I hate shotaros redesign he looks like a member of hanson wtf

  • I just really, really hope Shotaro/Jimmy shows up in his original design in this movie. Also, Dr. Franken feels out of place as the main villain; he was passive-agressive and built Black Ox, but it's hard to see him leading a terrorist organization (especially after his role as Vogler in Giant Robo).

I also hope they don't go down the same road as the Astro Boy movie and put in too much politics, or create new characters instead of using Yokoyama's other characters.

  • I'm more excited about this new version of "Gigantor" than the soon to released "Astroboy"

  • Kudos to Fieryone 233....you know your stuff.....Aside from elements of A.B., T-28 is the mack great granddaddy of all giant mecha...I've had contacts with Fred Ladd (the man responsible for bringing anime to American shores) I'd really like to see this T-28 cgi movie released!

  • imagi is also making

    astro boy and gatchaman

  • oh come on, make the kid look like Jimmy Sparks, put him in plaid and I want the giant lunch box controler

  • yeah I know Jimmy or shotaro as hes known in japan need to look like he did back then, and they replaced the box with a watch a little disappointing. Ovrall ill still see it hopefully it wont suck as much as astro boy did man that movie was awfffuuuulllllll

  • Holy Sh-....a Gigantor movie!? And he STILL resembles his old self!?

Definite Win. I'm seeing this when it's released.

  • Looks better than the new Tetsuwan atom movie. Looks awesome honestly, I can handle the art, even though I do like the original, but times have changed.

  • Looks pretty interesting...I'll have to wait for more information to decide how I feel though.

  • They changed the main's ethnicity. I feel that it's no longer the age where it's acceptable to just do that. It's not like they have to be ashamed of the source material.

The wristwatch control concept has been taken from Daisaku (Giant Robo).

The super punch move seems to have some passing resemblance to Dendoh's arms.

Another problem is the psuedo-gravitas occuring because of the music and the GREY, GREY city.

All in all the trailer makes me think of Dragonball Evolution.

  • You realize, the Giant Robo OVA was a culmination of Mitsuteru Yokoyama work, and Tetsujin 28 was one of them, so it works out in the end.

Also, the Super Punch is a staple of Super Robot Anime, minus the fact the arm does not detach from the body.

    TLDR;

These guys are pretty close to the source Material, unlike Dragon Ball Evolution.

  • Ain't it funny? They changed the race of the main. I feel like this is no longer the age when it's acceptable to do such things.

T28 = like using "G-Saviour" instead of using the name Gundam.

They also mixed in Daisaku's (Giant Robo) wristwatch controls. Then again maybe the joystick and the wristwatch can be interchangable.

The super punch move seems to have been taken off from Dendoh, with its tire-arms.

All in all this reeks of Dragonball Evolution.
