  • Do regular army's (as in paratroopers) actually use this or is it just for the special forces type?

  • @JustAnotherYtuber Normally, only special forces are trained in HALO, because normal infantry doesn't tend to do the sort of missions where stealth is required, because the point of HALO is to reduce the visibility of the jumper, so that then can safely insert into a tactical position by raising as little enemy awareness as possible. Common infantry Paratroopers may be trained in HALO or HAHO, but I'd doubt it's very common.

  • whether or not this is technically a halo jump, jumping at 10,000 feat is certainly no fucking piece of cake achievement that most of these e-thugs are complaining about can accomplish

  • @Pinoyako11705 you cant even spell feet retard

  • @txlonghorns97 orly

  • running the HALO jump without mask WILL kill you before you even make the jump, you have to breath pure oxygen for 30-45 minutes then switch over to a respirator as to keep the nitrogen out of your bloodstream and so many other things can go wrong, para rescue are the only air force guys that even do a REAL HALO jump.

  • Google PARACHUTE 2 CLUB

  • Not HALO...

  • This is just an expensive skydive on the taxpayers tab.

    \

  • @pressclick Go move to another country then :) I'm sure you'll love what they do with your tax dollars there.

  • Clearly not HALO jumping. If you didn't wear a Oxygen mask then theres a risk of nitrogen bubbles getting into the bloodstream which would be fatal.

  • good way to sneak up on the enemy-he he

  • uh...how can this be "HIGH ALTITUDE"? I just did my first 'yay i finally did it' tandem jump from 3000m(10k ft?) and along with my weight + jumpmaster we free-fall for 37 secs before opening 'chute. I would've thought HALO would free fall even longer...

  • no way that was halo no o2

  • halo with no oxigen mask?

  • Fuck HALOs they're too risky, respect to the guys who do em, but HAHOs are the way to go.

  • Better make sure your straps are in the right position of you'll sing soprano for the rest of your days

  • just a normal jump, not a HALO jump.

  • HALO jumps are from a minimum of 25000 feet, this video is 10000.....

  • High Altitude Low Opening=HALO, for those who dident know :)

  • That is cool can u be a paratrooper in the army

  • I want to do that in a Master Chief Costume.

  • @kjun13 i said the same thing to myself. :)

  • It's not a HALO jump ! :D

  • fuck ya this is why im going into the air force

  • @mrmikeman1011 Both the Army and the Navy do this as well.

  • Thats gotta be the greatest feeling ever free falling through a cloud. I loved how the camera got all wet from the moisture to. great video!

  • I don't remember this mission in HALO 3.

  • @McChang117 hey alot of people do this with a fear of heights

  • For anyone concerned...ALL the branches of our military teach certain units such things as HALO skills, they just dont advertise this fact is all.

  • It's not HALO!

  • @LibertyOleg It is HALO dumbass. High altitude low opening... we're knowledgable to know that it's not about the video game

  • i was looking for Care Bears

  • I bet half the kids check this video and thought it was for a video game.. :|

  • Of course HALO jump WITHOUT oxygen. It makes sense. :)

  • @ultimatesurvivalcz yes. this was the first thing that i noticed when i saw them jump. propobly they don't have problems with their blood. LOL

  • @ultimatesurvivalcz "High" is a relative term...

  • @ultimatesurvivalcz And with only about 40 seconds of freefall.

  • Navy seals do HALO jumping, your not a navy seal sir.

  • lame

  • wow

  • That wasn't a HALO jump at all.... When you skydive for fun you jump at 14,000.... And they definitely didn't open low either haha

  • @james87stephen this is a HALO jump. they jumped from about 10,000 and opened at around 1,000. sky divers jump from any height from 8,000 to 15,000 (any higher would require oxygen masks and equipment) and open at around 4,000. Special forces HALO jumpers can jump from the edge of space if they needed to- these guys just werent using oxygen so they took a lower altitude.

  • not a halo

  • I'm a kid and I really wanna know more about sky-diving and such. What's the name and purpose of the instrument that they have on their wrist? It looks like a watch or gauge of some sort. much appreciated. :)

  • @ransid55 They are called an Altimeter. They are used to show how high above the ground you are.

  • @MoneyBiscuits Thanks, bro.

  • @ransid55 Just so you know, once you get the lessons required to be certified to jump alone, skydiving costs like $20 per jump. That is of course if you have your own chute. Start saving!

  • Are these PJ's?

  • I dont have fear of heights, i would shit myself i think if I saw the ground at that height!

Then again: I hope i will do this sometime!

  • you need an oxygen mask for a HALO jump

  • HOLO m.g. !

  • dont you usually need a mask for HALO's because of altitude?

  • Well... That was neither HA nor LO.

  • This is awesome. Their mothers must be proud!

  • yeah. you kinda forgot the low opening part. you undiciplined turds. i could have known when the video was only a minute long

  • its not a halo jump that free falls for 2 minutesv straight.

  • wow...just imagine if your parachute did not work when u pulled the cord?! hahah..its game over !

  • @McChang117 I would honestly prefer to jump into a bed of clouds than if I were able to see the whole ground below me. Then I wouldn't know be able to visualise how far down it is :D

  • if you had a fear of heights...this would suck

  • @ERiCDrAyVin

You're retarded. HALO/MFF is an exit altitude UP TO 35,000ft AGL, with deployment of the main parachute UNDER 6,000 AGL.

    - Graduated HALO 21 September 2006 - MFFP #17030

  • There is just no challenging Hollywood or wherever people get this stuff. But for those that actually want to appear intelligent about a subject by doing research you can look up the militaries definition of HALO and HAHO.

Search for FM 3-05.211 ...google is your friend.

HALO is a military term, therefore they get to define it, not Charlie Sheen.

To the trolls and vidiots it won't penetrate their skulls but for the rest who are just uninformed, this is a HALO jump. Prove me wrong if you can.

  • Well at least the camera man got the low opening part right LOL...

  • where's chief?

  • it isn´t HALO jump

  • this is awesome

  • it's not a HALO.

  • HALO my ass! I've jumped from that altitude. And I'm just a student! And military!

  • @jumperva If your military you haven't studied your manuals very well. Search for FM 3-05.211

  • That is not a HALO Jump HALO meaning High Altitude Low Open starts off at 30 thousand feet then the suite opens at 1000 they must have an O2 take or they will lose consciousness within 30 seconds due to the temp ranging from 25 to 35 below 0

  • @rathlon Where do you get your information? No facts what so ever. First I would like to start with your crazy temp. The temp change is only about 1 degree per 1000ft. Then the military only goes up to 25,000ft. So if it is 90 degrees out what do you think the temp is at altitude? Yes you do need O2, but usualy its not used untill 12,000 ft. A full level 5 jump is with O2 combat gear from 25,000ft at night.

  • LOOK LADY BUGS! LOL

  • It's an awesome video but its not a HALO(High Altitude Low Opening) Jump

  • FUCKINGGG AAAAAWWEEESSSSOOOOMEEEEE!!!!!!!! :O (then again that's a HAHO not HALO)

  • Comment removed

  • thats wut im goni in the army for

  • 26 people disliked this because their chute didn't open

  • it's n't HALO

  • I thought it was HALO halo... not halo real ppls -__-

  • It's LO all right :D

  • Omg every time i watch sky diving vidz my palms get sweaty lol thats so cool tho

  • i agree !! no halo ...but you have to go through this in order to performe a HALO jump

  • just imagine if the chute didnt open if u did that O-o

  • @bubbleys38 I would pull out a gun and shoot myself

  • @360spire oh my gosh dont do that theres a chance that you could still survive ! hahah :)

  • i thought it was HALO the game.....;(

  • @elitesquadron I thought it too

  • i wonder how many people thought it was halo like Reach or 3 thinking sweet!......wait what?!

  • I would say this jump is in the area of about 15k just did a 17k this weekend and my freefall time was about 62 sec. which is about as long as this vid. and no you dont have to jump from 30k to be a HALO jump...it is 25k - 35K

  • IN 0:07 IS A VERY SIMILAR A SCENE FROM TEARS OF THE SUN

  • cod jump

  • It's High Altitude Low Open...

  • pffthahaha what a fail..not a HALO(HighAltitudeLowOXYGEN) NOT OPENING wtf people are stupid..

  • @FR4NKtheT4NK302 are you saying its low oxygen? or low opening, because it is low opening.

  • @FR4NKtheT4NK302 no sounds like you are. It's High Altitude Low Opening LOL

  • @FR4NKtheT4NK302 its low opening. If you don't understand why, its because they open under 6000ft.

  • wtf i thought this was from halo the game i expected some idiot to have a halo costume on while parachuting

  • Lol i did a jump like this with my dad and his marine Buddy's was lucky enuff to go (im 17) anyway when i got to the ground i pissed myself it was AWSOME

  • This is not a HALO jump at all... Like Eric said, 30,000 feet atleast and opening under 6,000 ft is a HALO jump...

  • @BallinTillDeath69 Slightly wrong. HALO is up to 35k, opening below 6k. My source is the military Field manual ( FM 3-05.211). If you have better information than that I'd sure like to see it. Email me with it, thanks.

  • @sharp357 Same thing mate.. Up to 35k... but I'm correct otherwise

  • @BallinTillDeath69 Correct otherwise unless you still mean this is not a HALO jump, because it is.

  • @sharp357 I would be surprised if they would go up to 35k. When we jumped we would only go to 25k and this was a military safety standard. Now for opening. HAHO jumps you open at what ever altitude the jumpmaster decides. Usually around 11k or 10k. On a standard HALO jump the opening is between 2,500 and 3,500

  • this played as an ad in a video we were about to watch at my school. all the COD players had nerdgasms the second they say it.

  • Awwthey didnt even jump out of a pelican dropship!

  • yahoooooo i wanna jump again))))))))))))))

  • I love all the Wuffo comments that think they know anything about this video or jumping and then call it a " shoot". YouTube is so full of a wannabes its pathetic. Please do some actual research and learn before you comment on things you've never done. This is a military HALO jump and not what Hollywood has told you it should be. Here's the military reference if you need it. FM 3-05.211

  • @dtroy347 is THAT right...

  • Go Air Force!

  • Bah...I've pulled much lower than that. :P

  • If they jumped at 10k ft then this is not a HALO/MFF jump. HALO is minimum jump height of 30k feet and opening at under 6k ft.

It is not possible to perform a HALO with no O2 tank, not unless you're Chuck Norris!

Nice video but it's not a HALO. xD

  • @ERiCDrAyViN 10 k ft ...yes it is

    Min 30 k ...no it's not

    Open under 6k ...yes

O2 only needed above 10 k for sustained times

Nice video and it is HALO/MFF

Feel free to email if you need proof or search out my earlier comments on this video.

  • @ERiCDrAyViN nah got a 30k and under 500ft

  • @ERiCDrAyViN The man knows his stuff. You need O2 to even have a chance of making it down alive. 30K is the Min. for a jump.

  • @ERiCDrAyViN mabye thery are still training for that height and are just building up to it?

  • @ERiCDrAyViN If your chuck Norris you HALO jump with no parachute.

  • @ERiCDrAyViN word

  • @ERiCDrAyViN U took the words right out of my mouth :)

  • @ERiCDrAyViN actually a halo jump dosent have to start off at 30k but you do open ur parachute under 6k normally b4 2k and to preform it you must have an oxygen tank to breath pure oxygen at such a high altitude to prevent the benz

  • @monkeyboy0908 You are thinking about SCUBA whith the benz statement

  • @ERiCDrAyViN no a HALO/MFF jump minimum heicht is 22,000ft

  • @ERiCDrAyViN i saw the title of the vid and i saw the guys not wering a mask so i said this cat be a HALO ;)

  • @ERiCDrAyViN You have no idea what you are talking about. I guess jumping out of a plane at 10,000 ft is not high enough lol. Military regs only go to 25,000 ft. HALO stands for High Altitude Low Opening. Not NASA

  • @ERiCDrAyViN I thought a H.A.L.O. jump was when you jump from the lower stratosphere, above the clouds?

  • @ERiCDrAyViN you open at 2500ft

  • @ERiCDrAyViN Are you retarded? This is a HALO jump. A HALO jump is anything over 6kFT UP TO 36kFT.

  • @ERiCDrAyViN O2 ? water? or do you mean oxygen?

  • @Scorpac what? you know water is H2O right? not O2.

  • @spedracer12345 alright, my brain had not enough O2 when i wrote this message.... :P

  • I'm pretty sure it's High Altitude Low Oxygen HALO

  • @KronoS404 high altitude low opening

  • @FitnessExpertise they jump from these heights to mimic commercial airliners when behind enemy lines :)

  • amazing...

  • these dudes are freakin intense

  • this HAHO yo!

  • @LPoolFool

the parachute was not opened in high altitude (HIGH ALTITUDE HIGH OPENING), it was HALO (HIGH ALTITUDE LOW OPENING)

  • this is sexy

  • that was not a halo jump

  • @riddlebrandan i know right...more like high altitude high opening

  • i am scared of heights but would do this anyday

  • I know what I want to do next.

  • Fuck you get wet going through clouds, I just thought they would have drifted around you

  • @TheOv3rlordK1ng dude clouds have moisture in them thats where the rain come from

  • Amazing, just amazing!

  • loro1rojo, how 'bout we just meet in some dark alley somewhere so I can kick your ass and teach you some manners along with some CQC, the we'll see who knows what, boy. How about it, I'm serious, you dickwad.

  • Master Cheif aint got shit on this!

  • @TheSmallPlanet he did this without a parachute :P

  • @TheSmallPlanet ...teroist buster...mariens dont die they go to hell to regrp

  • @TheSmallPlanet He doesnt need a parachute :p

  • they fly above radar you retards and they go as low as about 750 ft and then open

  • @txlonghorns97 Not even in your dreams. Stop believing Hollywood.

  • guessing they would open under Raydar as not to be seen

  • reminds me of ODSTs from halo

  • Definetly around 30,000 feet because its above the clouds and thats the regular flying range.

  • the halo jump is not 10,000 its 30,000

  • HOly shit. And to think I'm going to do that in a few years. :D

  • Definitly not HALO.... they arn't wearing masks for 02.

    Just sayin'

  • Fuck Static Lines!

  • @phlyegles43 do you know what a static line is

  • @txlonghorns97 It pulls the chute in low jumps, it also allows large scale jumps... do you think im a fucking idiot?

  • Fortunately, you don't have to join the military to enjoy skydiving ;)

  • eeeerrrrm, that wasn't a HALO jump :-P

  • @steffweff thats exactly right... halo jumps usually are performed by smaller groops, to avoid detection, at night and they often jump from hights wer oxygen tanks are required.... and they open there shoots low to the ground as possible, but they dont always try 2 land in water... HIGH ALTITUDE LOW OPENING = halo

  • Awesome!

  • GORY GORY WHAT A HELLUVA WAY TO DIE! (HE AINT GONNA JUMP NO MORE!)

  • It's a (HAHO)

  • not a halo ended too quickly

  • @xxVOLCOMZxx

Halos end in only a few minutes.

  • @xxVOLCOMZxx When your doing a HAHO jump you pull your parachute from 5-8 seconds after you jump from the plane.

  • @NavySEAL1942

your an idiot high alltitude low opening retard you pull at 1400 feet to clear radar... why would you pull at 30000 feet your a slow moving target. i dont know what seal unit your in but in our training for halo we didnt pull the shoot 8 seconds after extiing the plane we pulled at 1500 to 1400 feet

  • @skivs22 I'm talking about a High Altitude High Opening jump, and I'm not a SEAL. On the HAHO, they jump about 30 (I think) miles away from their LZ so people on the ground don't hear the plane. I don't remember all of the details, but it was on an episode of "Weaponology". Anyways, I'm talking about the HAHO jump, not the HALO.

  • @skivs22 I forgot to mention that since they jump so far away from their LZ, they pull their parachutes 5-8 seconds after they jump so they glide over tens of miles to their LZ's.

  • @skivs22 Calling people idiots when you can´t even read a comment properly...real classy...

  • @NavySEAL1942 it all depends 1, what type of chute 2 weather conditions 3 what altitude you jump from. Using the RAM type chute you really cant count seconds unless yo jump below 25k. because of terminal velocity and regs prevent RAM openings above 25k free fall is about 180ftper second so under 25k counting seconds the earth is getting really big quick.

  • @MrOooHELLno Whatever XD

  • i still dont trust parachutes... it can fail and u can die since ur parachute doesnt work good

  • @umean123

That's why you have to have some major balls to be a paratrooper.

  • @StuarttStewie ALOT of balls and guts

  • MAN that's an awesome job they have!
