I've done the first dungeon in Ages, and it's quite similar.
And the Moblins look so much like Red Blastoise's.

The boss of the first dungeon in Ages is much more puzzle-based, though. It took my sister (she was the first one who had the game) literally months to figure out how to beat it.

Although the first boss is quite similar to the 1986 Zelda, it just shoots stuff then but it looks similar and the screen that it's on is essentially the same.
Also the diamond around the staircase is a reference to that, you even push the same block in the same direction (but you usually have to kill a room full of enemies first).

The old man between the two torches giving you a hint is another obvious reference. (not sure if he appears in Ages)
