It's normal. Coyotes are opportunistic. Not dangerous, they hunt at all times of the day. It's not approaching people, it's out and about, im sure if it caught sight of you, it would be long gone. Coyotes are everywhere.
That's a coyote. I would call the local wildlife enforcement people and show them the video. I would consider it dangerous if it is hunting your property in daylight. It could be sick or starving and either way it is dangerous. Coyotes are a wolf subspecies and can/do interbreed with wolves. In the Northast, they are said to have bred with wolves (presumably in Minnesota/Canada as they migrated over to the Northeast. They were formerly found only in the west, but are the ultimate opportunists..
Its a coyote and its brave. A brave coyote is the worst kind to have, that animal should've been killed quickly before it hurt someone. If they'll come into your yard with all the human scent around it means it has lost its fear of humans and needs to be destroyed before it comes into someones yard and kills a child.
@lighning bolt do some research most coyotes are wolf coyote hybrids some with up to 89% grey wolf in the DNA but you probably don't know what DNA since that is either a wolf or a coyote not a hybrid...stay educated!
coyotes have narrow pointed noses, and walk with their tails down; wolves walk/run with tails straight out, and domestic dogs with tails up. that is a coyote.
It's 99% likely a coyote, but there is a slight chance it could be a red wolf. Red wolves are the only species found in the south but they're extremely rare and quite possibly extinct in the wild.
Coyote. They like suburbs, lots of easy pickings. Gray Wolves were expedited east of the Rockies by 1900. Red Wolves by 1950. That's why we have coyotes here now - they filled the niche.
"Huge wolf!" "Oh, wow!" How can you be so IGNORANT about your local native wildlife? This is just a regular ol' coyote. It's not "scary" except to your pets (and maybe a small unattended child, but who would leave a small child unattended outdoors anyway?).
yep coyotes can adapt to any changing enviroment, so you will probly run into them, just be careful be safe make lots of noises or carry a radio when outside, never leave little kids unattended and try to always have at least one person with youm and never feed it! it will make them less afraid of humans and more incounters will happen, we want our coyotes to be scared of us! its the best thing we can do for them, so no attacks happen, and never have to resort to killing a coyote! :)
Why do people live in areas with wild animals yet know absolutely nothing about the animals there? I mean, Georgia is thousands of miles away from anywhere wolves live.
Yeah, except that's a coyote, not a wolf. Wolves don't get as big as people think, but the body style of this canid is more lean and long, as the wolf tends to be just a touch stouter in the head region. Still, what a wonderful visitor to have!
coyote head and ears! wolves have way longer legs and heads.
