Changes in style and taste render many silent screen idols as not very attractive by today's standards but Mary Minter remains very pretty, if a bit lollycon which was marketable long before Japanese cartoon art. Same goes for Jack Pickford's ill-fated wife Olive Thomas, a beautiful girl in any age. But sad lives overall.

This is a nice tribute but I still think she was a "Pickford wannabe". In my opinion, Mary Pickford was more beautiful and talented although MMM was quite lovely in her own rite.

I wanted to look up pictures of MMM after reading about the Taylor murder online at Trucrime. Watching this is like being transported to the 1920's. Not only was she beautiful, she has an ethereal quality about her that really comes through in the photos and film clips. It's a shame that her life was so tragic.

One of the earliest Hollywood tragedy/scandals. Her career was ruined after the death of William Desmond Taylor ( his crypt reads William Tanner ) ..historians now think her mother was the killer...interesting to see where her star would have gone, especially in the next decade with sound.
