When showbiz was in its hey day. and they had so many arcade games and rooms with black lights in them. it was truly awesome. as a little boy i would get lost in there! Than chuckie cheeze took over. and it all ended. its garbage now.and has been for years :(
Check out the chick in the blue at 0:17...she looks like Shirley Phelps-Roper, the spokesperson for the Westboro Baptist Church out of Topeka KS known for their anti-gay funeral protests.
Man, I LOVED Showbiz when I was a kid. My mom took me a lot. And, this was around along with Chuck E. Cheese. I went to both. Chuck E. Cheese bought Showbiz out sometime in the early 90s.
So I'm 15, and one day a couple years back I found a token with ShowBiz Pizza on it. I wondered what it was and my grandmaw said it was this place back in the 80's like Chuck E. Cheese.
I just now saw what it was like, and no wonder I'm afraid of animatronics!
Even though I remember Showbiz, I don't ever remember seeing a commercial for them. My parents used to take me there as a treat, but this doesn't have one kid in it. Was it originally supposed to be like a Dave and Buster's?
i loved showbiz pizza better then chuckecheese.the pizza games and prizes where better.i was so sad when chuckecheese bought out showbiz in the early 90s.
I remember a version of this commercial that used to play in the mid-eighties where the guy in it with the giant glasses who takes the big bite of pizza, bites down on his lip pretty hard by accident and the Rock-a-fire Explosion bear comes out and pulls him under the floor. I don't know why that happens or why they changed the commercial.
Chuck E. Cheese killed Billy Bob!

I have to laugh at the pizza loaded with veggie toppings when they probably sold 95 percent cheese pizzas to all the kids.

What the heck? I think the people were scarier than the animatronics. Too cheerful and peppy *shudder* Also, thanks to Clayton Morris for the link!

No one in their right mind would have come to Showbiz primarily for the "pizza".

Showbiz Pizza was awesome. I had several birhtday parties there as a kid before it became Chuck'E'Cheeses.

@TheAltair4
Indeed it was the original Chuck-E-Cheese and did the Rock-afire explosion introduced you to classics from the 50's, 60's and 70's as well?
Johnlindsey289 9 months ago
@Johnlindsey289 That they did and so did my parents, older brother and even DTV.

March 5, 1982? That's the exact day that John Belushi was found dead at the Chateau Marmont. What are the odds?

@blueangel0925 That was a sad day indeed.
