It's ashame we could't just release unwanted parrots back to the wild where they originally came from.I'm sure being around other parrot species in the wild, they would adapt rapidly. If a predator gets a few hear and there,it would still be the best thing to do.They deserve to be free and flying with their fellow birdy colleagues.LOL PARROTS RULE !
I really wish it would work that way but the hard truth is that 99% would die.
The only way I have heard of that happening is in cases of escapes during deliveries of large batches in transport to captivity, for example from a breeder, where the contact has been at a minimum.
Do a search on the successful Brooklyn Parrots. That's a wonderful story you may enjoy following.
We have a program in place that you have to complete if you sponsor a bird here. It requires volunteering, vet exam, and a couple stages of stages of approval, such as housing for both cage and location.
I'm sorry maybe you haven't watched many of our videos? We don't sell birds!
We are a 501c3 organization that works with local avian specialists, veterinarians and volunteers whose purpose is to address all aspects of homeless birds in crisis giving guidance to pet owners on behavioral issues of captive birds.
Our goal is to promote high avian standards by educating the public through educational seminars, written, web materials & one on one guidance on the humane treatment of birds.
You would visit our web site at flyingcolors-nc com. fill out an application and live locally enough to come and bond with her prior to adoption. some restrictions apply. Example, space, verses apartment or house, etc.
Actually she is. And yes she is a wonderful bird. We are taking our time with her. She is on a bit of a diet due to her blood test results showing almost 50% fat in her blood stream. Her kidneys are fine so we are looking to a happy future for her and someone special.
Thanks for this video I am going try the shin gaurd with my new b&g he hasnt been handled in aprox 22 years. He is new on my channel his description tells more about him.
What a sweetie! S/he grumbles like my own amazon. Isn't it cute? With socialization, I'm sure she'll make a wonderful companion for just about anyone.

She LOVES it!
I do have several similar birds personalities much younger that need homes also looking for homes if you live in NC.
