i met mother maybelle outside the southern cross hotel in melbourne in 1971.the legion invited me to lunch and later to her room.i also met helen.my wife was with me and we both were knocked out by her cordial self.mother maybelle graciously gave us her autograph too.boy what a memory.

i learned the " Carter scratch when i was 14... the only way i know how to play guitar... I learned from watching Mother Maybelle on all the old Country and Western shows of the day... and the Carter Fold is a great tribute to AP, Maybelle and Sarah...the original Carter Family... we were all blessed by knowing these fine people from Clinch Mountain...

Thanks so....so...much for uploading this!!! The only was I can describe Mother Maybelle's playing is Hypnotic...it just draws you in. I only wish they had gotten all the acclaim that was due them, but we'll always have these videos to remember them by. If it hadn't been for her guitar playing I, for one, would have been totally lost in this world. Thanks a bunch -William
