@writofmandamusdw shows you html markup, so does visual studio and eclipse. but the server part, the javascript or actionscript, or java you have to do it yourself.
Even with html markup, you get much better results b writing the code yourself instead of doing it by wizzard windows. And for code simplicity and readability forget about DW.
I think the best visual "IDE" you can get is photoshop slices and then "save to html". ;)
Oh I got it now, in Aptana you have to write the css in one line, not like in Dreamweaver with line breaks... The code hinting works now even for css in aptana...
Brilliant video! How do you get the grey bar that says: 'html | js | css' in the editor view? I'd love if I could get an answer, because nobody ever answers my comments. :P lol
Dreamweaver and Expression Web have a feature that I consider crucial for developing more or less complex web pages -- WYSIWYG panel. I don't use it to create pages. I use it to help me locate fragments of code I want to work on. Doing it in pure code view sucks. Because Aptana doesn't have this feature, it sucks.
that is not possible yet. If you want to see how your WEbsite looks in Safari you will have to open it in Safarie. It's best not to rely on Aptana's webpage rendering. Always try it in every webbrowser manually too.
I must agree, but from what you showed in the review, Aptana doesn't have any graphical editing mode. I consider this kind of feature very important since I don't like to preview the page\open a web browser all the time.
@r0bs3n13 Well, if you want to create professional stuff, you gotta have professional software. In some cases open source caould be a great solution (Eclipse, Linux etc...) but most of the time, payware, especially those who are made by Adobe, is much more reliable and professional than open source. Of course not always payware is better than open source, especially when it's about Microsoft, but Adobe is unbeatable.
PsPad is the best :)

so aptana's not like a web development program right, where you can design your web page graphically without needing to know how to code?
writofmandamus 10 months ago
@writofmandamus there's no such thing. Even in visual studio with asp.net you have to know how to code.

@kriptonis isn't that what Dreamweaver is?

Aptana just don't have code hints for html attributes, and for css.
It only can close a html tag.
But the outline window is great, for HTML and for PHP
KOmaSHOOTER 10 months ago
I don't mean HTML inside a String...
I mean HTML inside the page code
KOmaSHOOTER 10 months ago
What about php files with HTML Code?
It can only handel php when I edit a php file.
The auto complete for HTML dosn't work inside php files?
Dreamweaver can handel it all together, php html and javascript!

I dont know how to use HTML then
