  • and I disagree about the animation not being fluid. for its budget and small team (the average episode only had a small handful of key animators working on it), the characters move in a very expressive and lively way that strikes me as way better than a lot of high budget anime with robotic movement (Hellsing OVA and its often praised visuals being a pet peeve of mine)

lastly I don't think you should have spoiled the second to last episode - it has a wonderful impact if you're not expecting it.

  • "none of those choices seem to have made a very significant difference to his life" actually, the differences WERE significant. they were minor, yes, but stuff like that what makes life enjoyable - that's one of the messages of this show.

  • More college students (like me) should watch this.

...Now I feel paranoid about my time as a student...

  • This was pretty trippy but did that 4th wall summary thing.

  • And speaking of Yuasa, I want to recommend you check out Kaiba and Kemonozume. Both are directed by Yuasa and animated by Madhouse. Both are, in my opinion, superior to Tatami Galaxy. In fact, the episode where the protagonist in Tatami Galaxy joins the movie circle and wants to produce a movie about two lovers destined to be apart is a reference to Kaiba and Kemonozume, and the bad reception of that movie is a mirror to both series' reception in the real world. I recommend them both greatly.

  • Ah, I was hoping you would review this!

I agree with the rating you assigned to it, but maybe I got a tad more enjoyment out of it due to the fact that I'm a speedreader and managed to read both the subtitles and take in the art. Nevertheless, I think that this show would benefit from a good dub. Yuasa explained that he meant for the protagonist to speak so quickly as to mirror his rapid thoughts in the book. You can't really grasp that sensation while reading subtitles.

  • SSSSS... SSSS-SSSS. SSS

Man, I enjoyed the review, but you need to back that mic out of your face a bit.

  • nice review

  • Good review. There is a certain simplicity on the animation that is quite unique. I may want to check this out. Also, doesn't the cowboy riding that green horse look like Woody from Toy Story?

  • Nice review, the Noitamina block always delivers on generally good anime (Tatami Galaxy, House of 5 Leaves, Nodame Canatbile and Honey & Clover to name a few).
