@freakyfadge can't completely tell if you're being serious..but I'd say that technology, being able to TALK and sexuality in the right environments(ie home, church, etc), and understanding other cultures are not bad ideas at all. The latter two I would go as far to say are good, and tech in it of itself is not inherently bad. But these things are easily perverted if we take our eyes off of our creator God who has given us the ability to think and learn and 'create'. Jesus is the best ;-)

It took about 18 months for the effects of Hollywood, the media and advertisers to wear off. I now know what it means to say, "This world is not my home." I ache for the lukewarm and those deceived by this humanistic culture. I can't bear the thought of seeing the faces of people who cry "Lord, Lord" on that day only to hear, "Depart from Me. I never knew you."
The deterioration of western culture isn't a future event but already a past one. We're entertainment-minded. We MUST be entertained. Sports, celebrities, movies, TV, and musicians are our gods. @freakyfadge can't completely tell if you're being serious..but I'd say that technology, being able to TALK and sexuality in the right environments(ie home, church, etc), and understanding other cultures are not bad ideas at all. The latter two I would go as far to say are good, and tech in it of itself is not inherently bad. But these things are easily perverted if we take our eyes off of our creator God who has given us the ability to think and learn and 'create'. Jesus is the best ;-)

He is right about most of the things he is talking about. But alas, enter religion. Religion is a fine vehicle for teaching morals and ethics. But you shouldn't believe in a religion, if you don't truly believe. It makes more sense to me that new generations will look at the down-fall of their ancestors and want something better. Being a good citizen in a society doesn't equal believing in god. No, many of the virtues that christians hold dear could just as well be universal.

A lot of africansdon't speak their locallanguages, or leave like their fathers did. they all leave or want to leave like europeans. they have abandoned their languages for english, french and portuguese. Steven Pinker does a good job of explaining the peculiar predicament we're in with respect to sex and our brains. It has nothing to do with our spirituality. Only a already damaged mind would mistake porn for anything other then a over dramatic and unrealistic sexual act, most of the time anyway.
Porn might of played a role, but his mind was already damaged before that.
So like I said, porn is harmless. Anything can be harmful to a damaged mind.

Well considering how its the religious that are having the most kids, that would automatically make them have the most amount of bad parents. Just simple maths. Their just having more kids so more parents will be bad.
That's it. You can be religious and still be a great parent, you can be atheist/agnostic and be a horrible parent.
But maybe more atheist/agnostics realize they would and don't have has much kids. That's just my opinion, I can't provide any stats for that.

I guess Noam Chomsky, not even a religious guy, gives the best explanation on why pornography is wrong, it's on youtube if you're interested. Aside from anyone's personal beliefs on parenting, the deterioration of western culture can proabably be summed up by four words, "two girls, one cup". I sincerely hope you were spared the barage of dead baby jokes from the 2005-06 era. Binge drinking is rampant on university campuses. Ever seen MTV? "Reality Shows"? Lotta crap out there.

He's reasons are utterly flawed. First off most porn is not degrading, and why is it that the amateur porn is on the rise? How are sites like met-art degrading to women?
Noam Chomsky should stfu unless it's about his field, which is linguistics. Even then he wrong about a lot of things.
Sure SOME porn is degrading, but to instantly say ALL of it is, no just no.

It turns women into objects rather than human beings with a heart and soul. #3. If your married it will undeniably hurt your marriage by taking the focus off of your wife. #4. Those images will be burnt onto your memory for life and it will make you struggle with more powerful and consistent lustful cravings.

It's addictive? As much as anything can be that causes pleasure. Eating, playing games, working out, all of that can be addictive.

Just as there should be a distinction between crack cocaine and sugar, so should a distinction be made concerning pornography and working out. Pornography often turns into a full blown addiction, I have seen it happen time and time again.
