Link was looking for Navi the whole time I just checked on the official Nintendo interview from 2003 and it was stated by a developer who was helping with the Storyline that he was supposed to look for Navi because she was a fairy and he was in Lost Woods due to it being a place where if you DON'T have a fairy you become a Stalfos which happened in OOT to the man with the Saw.

I can highly think that Link dies and becomes a Stalfos because entering Lost Woods WITHOUT a fairy and Link not having one he will turn into a Stalfos and in WW they said he never returned to Hyrule so it hinted that something bad happened to him at the end of MM probably Happy Mask Sales man turned into a Stalfos at Lost Woods and slashed Link when he couldn't see.

@DoctorRoblox HMSm never went to the Lost Woods, he disappeared into Clook Town. And "Saria is waiting in the usual spot." the usual spot was the Sacred Forest Meadow which is IN the Lost Woods. Link knew that was the "usual spot" because he went there. Before OoT started, so... that negates what you said. Because he didn't have Navi before OoT (obviously) so he's the only Hylian unaffected by the Lost Woods, being prophesized to be in every LoZ game.

@DoctorRoblox yeah he's looking for Navi but he knows his way around Lost Woods. It has to detect a thought in the mind that says "I'm lost" and uses that to turn you into a Stalfos. So that again negates what you said. All you need to do is know where you're going and you'll still be normal. Or, you can just be determined by not thinking you're lost, because they use the thought to turn you into a Stalfos. But Link knows where he's going.

I have heard countless of rumors of him trying to search for either Skullkid, Navi or Saria. There are many reasons as to why and why not he would be searching for them but since they never show him finding Navi or Saria then none of the 3 theories can truly be proven. I believe it is skullkid because out of all 3 of the people he was mentioned most and took part in the storyline way more. Skullkid is throughout the entire game, where as Navi and Saria are either never found or rarely mentioned.

Navi was with Link the entire time during OoT, and they developed a strong bond due to that. Navi also left him at the end, giving him a motive. Theres your proof

The only reason why Skullkid attacked him as an adult is the same reasons he grew to hate the giants, he deserted him. If he was really looking for Navi then how come she never shows them in the game huh? If it was about looking for her then how come he never sees Navi in the game even after you finish it? Skullkid is in the entire story. xD

@TheMrjoedaddy It's quite simple. Navi was not in Termina, she was in Hyrule. Link's arrival in Termina was completely by accident, remember? The only reason he followed Skullkid was to get his Ocarina. It also said at the end of the game, that Link, "Had to part with Tatl, Tael, and Skullkid." Which basically means that he didn't belong there and he still had a quest to finish, which was, finding Navi. This is not a hard concept to grasp. I understand what you are saying, but you have no facts.
