I play ultra high,on maxed res for my monitor(1440x900) and it runs 30+.I use Gigabyte 9600 GT 1GB,4GB RAM DDR2,AMD Phenom Quad-Core 9850 2,50 GHz and Windows 7 64 Bit Build 7100.

well so that you dont get confused...you cant run ultra at a high resolution with the 9600gt..if your playing at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 you can run utlra easy, but if your running 1920x1080/1920x1200 id say you could handle it at high with this card...maybe very high at the most depending how much AA you put

I don't know how you do it man.... I got a similar set up like a AMD Phenom Quad with 3 gbs ram and a BFG 9600 GT 512mb OC.... yet I have to play this game on Very High because when I play on Ultra, I get 20 to 30 frames... When I enter the menu screen, I get screen tearing and the game gets worse. I'm wondering if my GPU is going bad... Damn, I hope not.

hey you possted a comment about what computer you were building, instead of an AMD phenom 9500 get an X3 8750, the X3's are much faster the X4's becasue AMD didn't make a quad, its a dual, also get the XFX 750a mother board so you can use two 9600gt's cause you said you need a new psu anyways.

Nononono, guys....

X3 8750 or phenom 9500 is old stuff... Look for AM2+ (require ddr2 ram) or AM3 motherboards (require DDR3 ram) and a X3 720 BE. Not much more expensive, but waaaay better. Take a look at it.

I will buy an amd 6400+ and a 9800 gt / or 4870. But with my 5000+ and a ati x1650 pro it works not bad. But i will play it on very high settings and not on middle ..

you could probably overclock that 5000+ to over 3ghz I have my 5200+ sitting at 3.4ghz stable with a 4850 I would just say upgrade your video card and maybe ram if you don't have enough and save some money, a 6400+ isent that much faster than an overclocked 5000+ series.

whats resolutin it is? becus i have 9600GT and it runs 17FPS with everything in ultra on DX10

but keep in mind that he uses a quad core and far cry 2 runs way smoother with quad core systems than with dual or single core systems
