wonder if anyone can help, i'm learning to ride soon and going straight for my direct access @ 21 and I'm looking for a fun middleweight. I've looked at the ER-6F for yonks and love it, but read that anyone over 6ft would find it a bit of a pinch riding it cause of leg room. Would the versys be a better option for someone 6.2ft-ish or could i go for the first love?
xj6 sucks. The engine is apathetic until 8000rpm. However, it is well design, comfortable, good feelings on the brakes, suspension is a bit soft to my taste.
The Er-6f is the sensible choice so i'd go with that. I wouldn't want an R6 for commuting or touring which the Er6F handles quite well. Depends what you really want it for in the end. Plus,i wouldn't recommend getting an R6 if you have little experience
When I'm 18 i think I may buy this bike. I really like the supersport bike look, but I won't buy a ZX because it's to expensive AND it's not a nice bike for touring - so this might be the right one for me.
biking in britan is more restircted. we have to start on 50 at 16 or 125 at 17 and then pass a test to use up to 33 bhp then another test or wait until we are 21 to ride unrestricted.
well, here in malaysia, one is allowed obtain a licence for full class (meaning any bike above 500cc) once you hit 18, provided you pass the riding test at 16 and went through 2 years of probationary license without a scratch.
we're restricted by the import duty and sales tax of the bike though.... the price of the bikes here as compared to the income level, is astonomically impossible for the average joes here like me, and i'd have to settle with a 13 year old ninja250. darn....
well, you'd be surprised at the motorbiking scene here in Malaysia, and its neighbours Thailand and Singapore... and you wonder why the Government still wants to charge the bikers here "developing nation" tax rates.
I know this is an old comment, but also worth considering is that the gsxf is a four cyl engine vs the er-6f being a twin. A usual trade off will be more low end acceleration for the 2 cyl vs more top end speed from the i4. Knowing your riding style is a good place to start before choosing.

Why they name this moto sometimes as "ninja" and other times just as "er6f"? Is there a difference?

@kozas0 ninja is the american name for them, ER is for the Europeans.

r6=flashy race bike that has more track oriented specs.
er6(n or f)= road bikes that are designed to work well on the road.
after those two points its just personal preference.

@LocustsAreSwarming Vietnam have a 200% tax on cars (not bikes). A Fiat 500 is 62,500 euro there. Thats just crazy!
