My line of thought. The characters in the game has been set to perform specific instructions. Letting the empire live, will results in a behavior not intended by the programmers, and the game will ultimately cease to work properly, because it doesn't know what to do.

open your Oblivion.ini file. Press ctrl+f and search for 'bUseWaterShader'. Switch it to 0. You will now have purple water in the game but your game should work.

roflmao, i revive the emperor and recruit him for my team, he is good with blunt and heavy armor, sadly he will not go higher than level 1, so i went to the construction set and set him as leveled, i also recruited captain renault just for the lulz... she is level 40 and the assasins are level 1, she only dies due to a scripted death, mysticism, so what the crystal ball is for? i only see it as a spherical piece of furniture

@kxmode he...has the same lines any male imperial has, n.nU with the normal imperial voice, put a full guard armor on him and you get a guard n.nU, he is an excellent fighter once you know what he is skilled on, and companion share & recruit works for that, you only need to companion order-ask stats, he will tell you he is skilled on heavy armor, sword and blunt and his level, 1, he will randomly say any line he used on the tutorial with P.S. voice while traveling behind your character

This is a Glitch i found out on PS3 it makes you get out of your cell. In order to do this when they tell you 2 go and stand by the window go up to Glenroy (or whoever is close to the cell door) and crouch then keep on tapping X and moving around a little, then you should eventually pickpocket hm take anything in his inv. Then when u get caught he should open the cell gate and take what is hs back from you then u can roam outside of the cell. But u cant go anywhere else.! :D

@Darkfiresz210 ohhh ok i see well what i think is you do have to be lvl 18 as the character.. and the sigil stone part you just have to basically do the same thing as you did in the other oblivion gates, but you just have a time limit.. haha unless you already did it.. it's just a little bit harder then the other gates and just do what you normally would do in a oblivion gate.. btw sorry i took so long.. but i hope that kinda helped haha i didnt give much advise but that's really all there is
