  • nice remix...

  • Class! Top Class!

  • It was actually Robert Oppenheimer who quoted the Bhagavad Gita with the famous "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds".

  • Love the video and the song. Saw them in 1981ish in Sheffield, UK - Awesome. Robert Egan

    Great Protest Songs

  • I heard this on one of DJ Mystik's compilation albums. I should have guessed it was Sash!, it's so good!

  • wow good mix,not over done.would be ashame if this song was hijacked in the wrong way as t techno remix.but you definitly havnt done that in this case.so big ups to ya.

  • Hate this, cheapens the original.

  • I'm usually massively against remixes of any sort, but I think this one might have changed my mind: it's kept the original's meaning and its 'feel' too.

  • Nice Song :D

  • top remix!

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME

  • well done on the upload took me some years as to say i was in a street gang call overden mad dogs ...all the best j

  • Remix is rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Just in case I am not clear this is rubbish. Ruination of a great song.

  • @pete671 shut your fucking gay mouth you cock sucker ass licker

  • @pete671 I couldn't agree more.

  • Well done

  • Scotter klaut wieder mal.Die Schw..!!!

  • @Urmel64

    was laberst du da??????

  • simplemente monumental

  • Anybody could write me the words of the beginning of the song?

That begins with "At the six of August Nineteen Forty Five"... But I am French and I does not understand what he says after. Up to "Hiroshima".

    Help please !

  • @therosedavies On the 6th of August 1945 the Boeing B-29 Superfortress took off from the Tinian island in the Pacific, carrying an awesome new weapon weighing almost 10,000 pounds and containing 140 pounds of deadly uranium 235. The bomb was code-named "Little Boy", the target for the mission, Hiroshima.

  • @therosedavies Later in the song it says "The bomb load was released over it's target at 09:15 hours at an altitude of 31,000 feet. Little Boy exploded 800 feet above the target with the equivalent force of 20,000 tons of TNT. What then follows is the commander of the Enola Gay quoting a Hindu scripture which says "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds".

  • @flans44 Perfect ! It's more that I asked U.

    Thank U, merci, chokrane, gracias ! :D

  • @flans44 There is little inaccuracy. Despite of the fact that all information mentioned in the song lyrics is based on real events, in fact the Hindu sentence: "Now I'm become death, the destroyer of worlds" was told by Robert Oppenheimer (nuclear physycist and a father of the atomic bomb) who has said it when he was talking about testing of the atomic bomb in Los Alamos.

  • @flans44 that was not the commander of the Enola Gay, but J Robert Oppenheimer, scientific head of the Manhattan Project.

  • @flans44 It's not the pilot but the leader of the Manhattan project saying those words

  • @flans44 in fact was robert oppenheimer the father of the atomic bomb, who remembered the day of TRINITY TEST years later ""We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. i remembered the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that one way or another."

  • @flans44 in the video you can see Oppenheimer very affected, like he was guilty of those who died that day in hiroshima and later in nawasaki, and he cries as he tells about that moment, the co-pilot of the enola gay robert lewis just said after dropping the bomb, "my god, what we have done?",and funny it says 915am , but the bomb was dropped 815 am

  • @flans44 Thanks ! It is very kind of you :)

  • @therosedavies at the six of august ninty forty five the boein b29 super fortess took off tijny island in the pacific carrying a new weapon wight almsot 100.000 pounds and contianing 145 of deathly urnaium 235 the bomb was proclaimed LITTLE BOY the target: Hiroshima dont know if its correct not my best english haha:P

  • @therosedavies .. it was the name of the aeroplane that dropped the atomic bomb on hiroshima by the americans

  • Quelqu'un pourrait il m'écrire le début de la vidéo en anglais ??

Tout ce qui est dit au début, Ca commence par "At the six of August Nineteen Forty Five"... mais après je n'ai pas compris. Jusqu'à "Hiroshima".

  • love it! alondra and him should reunite!!!

  • gd lil remix

  • Andy McCluskey is SO. DAMN. SEXY!

  • its the 6th August 65 years on... and Mr McCluskey after OMD ended up producing such splendid acts like Atomic Kitten! ( a certain ironic denoument)

  • what a bag of shite. Totally ruined!!!!!

  • @bradleym1 Totally agree m8y sash has eurodanced this original cool song by OMD and yeap it is now a bag of shite.

  • Sash makin it ,,,,,,, FRESH

  • whats the footage from

    (people running)

  • @mapel24 the footage of running is from OMD's video of Sailing On The Seven Seas which I also have posted.

  • che bella cosi

  • Its awesome, I love this.. its a power!!!

  • I love it, I love it very much

  • In the world's nuclear arsenal there is explosive power equal to 4 tons of tnt for every single human being on this planet.

4 tons of TNT for you and me, for every one of us.

Thumbs up if you think that's too much.

  • heard the re mis to this in 2000 in tenerife. bloody good u no

  • Everyone, this is a place for comments about the song, not the war or your opinion about the US bombing Japan.

  • @flans44= Yeah, I agree. And anywway, if it wasn't for that lousy bomb, most of you guys would have never been born. There, end of topic. Sorry flans44. I'm done.

  • @vigo894 Who would not have been born? Who are "you guys"? I'm from the US myself.

  • @vigo894 wtf, the bomb most of 'us' wouldnt have been born, man you are fitting the yanke stereotype there ya muppet . . .

  • @vigo894 lol. apparently nuclear bombs are some sort of fertility enhancer. news to me.

  • @flans44 quite right.great mix!thnx for making+sharing..

  • Why is the remix always less good then the original??

  • way better than that faggot scooter's remix

  • Loved the original by OMD and this was just brilliant to have it as a remix. Well done Sash

  • There is nothing innocent about war, Hiroshima and Nagasaki paid for that to end the war - this track does not make light of that fact(a cover of OMD, the crew were devastated)...maybe we can hope to never repeat that again.

  • creating innocence from such evil humandoings. Surely nothing can match that

  • Serious Topic and dance music - that doesn't fit at all...

  • NIce 1 ...gonna add it to my AmericA channeL...very late 80's he he ! Would mix well with some hard core d&b ... regards.. reminds me of how we felt as the wall came down !

  • awesome song, awesome mix. just awesome.

  • I never liked this remix. The lead melody line sounds like it has been a fixed to a musical fairground ride - it sounds terribly lightweight = completely wrong for the subject matter. Check out Moby's remix of Souvenir, for a decent OMD remix.

  • Nicely done!! I just viewed 12 other remixes of this song, to decide on this mix. Most didn't even have the lyrics included, only the tune...NOT cool! :P

  • id just like to say that this video is incorrect. the terget for little boy was not hiroshima, it was meant to be dropped on a japaneese army base to the south, but because of cloud cover, it had to be dropped un planned on hiroshima

  • pretty critical for someone who can't spell target, and yes the bomb was planned for Hiroshima and the second one for Nagasaki to force the Japanese to end the war. read your history books.

    BESIDES IT"S A DANCE TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • actually it was the second bomb over nagasaki that was meant for another target but due to clouds, was dropped there instead =)

  • I like this track but it always annoys me how the volume drops at around 7 seconds into the song.

  • omd rocks but sash made my day

  • did scooter sample this tune by any chance ??

  • Yup

  • awesome track!!

  • This is AMAZING! i know someone called Sash, sasha

  • I like the power and music combination.. that makes it awesome!

  • Good and Educational

  • 0:53!!!!

  • vraiment de la bombe vraiment bravo

  • where's sash?!

  • the remix ,, the beat

  • herrlich

  • bellissima!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well done from all remakes this one is very good, avid omd fan keep it up

  • all sash has done is add boom boom to it?

    omd all the way!

  • you try and do it!

  • @spall07 ok i will ;)

  • Sash also added the original newsreel recordings into the track, which weren't in the OMD original.

  • fairy enough;););)

  • great remix from sash,,,,great song

  • disgustosa

  • thx Sash! for this great remix :)

  • gr8 remix!

  • I remember how disappointed I was when i got home and played this remix. Not as rich sounding as the original. Plus anything with a snare drum destroys it.

  • there's less snare drum throughout the song, its mainly bass and high hat. its just the sixteenth notes in the beginning for this one. the original had a more distinct snare throughout.

  • im glad she never stayed at home that day

  • 0:07 I thought it was the stig for a moment there lol

  • Fantastic song:) fantastic rmx:)

    5/5

  • i think its a good remix of a classic. i'd rather it remixed as a dance version than the likes of a rock or rap song. it was omd's intention to be of the dance scene.

  • cheerful song about sorrowful topic...

  • Like you, I hope that there will never be a nuclear war. It's insane.

  • I love this song!!!!!

    I love omd (I'm 13 years old);p

    and I love Sash

    It is awsome mix!

  • Same except im 12 lol

  • fajna nutka:D

  • original is a lot better , the voice has more feeling into it , but yeah it's good money doing remix of songs

  • Parádní song

  • well this is E=mc squared

  • szereg promieniotwórczy 16E

  • disco 1967

  • i no its sad to say lol but i learnt a fair bit off this song,.,such as the bonb, dates, damage

  • also makes u think hard about the past wars,,200thouusend ppl..

  • Very, very good take on a classic!

  • Really enjoyable mix!

  • once agen...wow,,that bak tune is so plain and simple ,,yet it make the whole song...proper meks me wana do sumat lol

  • LOVE IT

  • mint! i cant believe i never heard it till now!! legend!

  • mad backround 2 song

  • Good song...

  • Sash! is the best! :) very good rmx

  • bel remix....

  • A wonderful song! Thanks.

  • nice remix.

  • This song is very good, but it's sounds to positive for the clip.

  • LOVEE this song the origanal is obv better tho :)

  • Progress waits for no one, no matter how sentimental one cares to be about the subject.

  • Its not about gays you fool, its about Enola Gay, the palne that dropped the A-Bomb on Hiroshima.

  • apparently, the plane was supposedly named ater the pilot's mother...

  • Comment removed

  • Enola Gay was the name of the pilots mother incase anyone didnt know!

  • Well it probably isnt all that melodramatic to those whos family were victims.

  • puxa vida! OMD isso eu escutava na adolescencia!!! muito legal, dark puro lemra-me as festas dos anos 80!!!!! show!

  • only one song with remix better than original

  • good song granted, but in no way is it better than the original, a classic is a classic turning the base up is not making it better.

  • yeah definetely not as good as the origional, but a pretty good remix

  • no but it is gettin younger ppl likein it that wunt ov liked it with out the beat, thats wat did it 4 me any way,

  • lol thumbs down ...what i mean is,, this is the 1st version i ever heard of this song.. was about 6weeks ago now lol... i played the original and i prefere this which im sure many more will :D
