Behind the head shoulder press works out the rear deltoids. if you didnt know you will devolp shoulder pain if you overwork the shoulder WITHOUT working the rear delts. this is do to the muscle layout and it causes damage to the rotator cuffs. as for dead lift, you lift with your legs. lifting with the back will cause back problems if not now in the future. if you want lower back muscle do back extensions.
Why people at my gym keep telling me that i do wrong deadlift which i learned from this video. They showin me right form of deadlift is the one without knee movement so the movin part is only your back n hip up and down, i think like the rumanian/sumo deadlift?
@yudista06 i have the same shoulder problem i suggest you lower the weights you use and train your shoulders more often...but not to much otherwise you might harm them even more...listen to your body and don't go beyond that :)
Just doing one dip will hurt my shoulder joints for days. I stay well clear of dips. As for squats, I stay away from them as well, although I don't mind doing them. They build my ass up too much, and increase my thighs. Not good for me. I like deadlifts though. Bench press is hard for me; I get massive shoulder pain.
Pulls ups yeh best exercise for back period (upper back) they r awesome especially if u get a weights belt, its a shame most people dont listen and do all kinds of stupid machines that really dont give u a full range of motion and r pretty easy in comparison.
you are contradicting what you are saying.. you are saying that these excercises boost metabolism (which should lead to more muscle burnt).. and then you are saying these excercises build mass..
you're not eating enough !! you're supposed to eat at least 6 meals everyday. the rule to gain weight is to eat 1g of protein per pound of body weight. lets say you weight 140lbs, then you would have to eat 140g of protein everyday to repair your muscles and gain weight. you also need cars and good fats. your whole diet should consist of about 40%protein,40%carbs and 20% fat. so you should be eating every 2-3 hours.if you want to get big, you have to eat big. hope this helps a bit
These are all fantastic exercises...many which are neglected by most gym-goers. My only critique is his breathing, especially with the cleans. You should never hold your breathe...ever.
That my new workout sorted but what sort of set/rep plan should you be doing or just as many as possible? Cheers fella, gonna hit your website right now

Vince, I have a couple of questions about muscle building because there is so much confusion out there.
1) Should our workouts be FULL-BODY in the same workout...OR...Separate Body Parts on different days of the week? Such as Legs one day, chest & Tri's the next day, back & biceps the third day, etc.

Whey Protien supplements are a must if you want to gain muscle mass. I'm 6'8" and struggled to gain any mass until I started on Whey Impact and Creatine. I've gone from 16st 4lbs to 19st 9lbs in under 6 months! You can obtain creatine and protein from the meat and nuts and pulses you eat but nowhere near enough to build the muscle you want. Use supplements wisely, but my advice is definately use them!
@ronowdoh07 You can gain tons of muscle and get a very mean looking body with nothing but weight training, whole foods and sleep. It's a waste of money for the most part when you can get nutrients to grow big muscles just from whole foods. Skinny guys don't need supplements.

@imoen108 Yeah all his advice is sound, but why is he doing military press behind his head, that's dumb you gotta do it in front of your head or you stress your rotator cuff a ton.
@rfall89 to be honest i wouldnt say hes horrible at em but id say his deadlifts shouldnt be dual overhand grip there should always be one hand underhand to prevent the weight from slipping .... but what am i to say he probably just forgot ... peace.
How would you recommend incorporating these exercises into a beginner workout? I'm pretty new to weightlifting and want to add some mass but I realize I can't do all these in one session. I just want to start out with maybe 3 days a week.
@RyanLkirk Nothing wrong with HOT MILFS, U Gayy mother fucking cock sucking stupid ass lil fucking pathetic ass dumm mother fucking punk lil bitch ass!!!!!!! -OWNED HARD!
it's easy to do them badly and really throw out your back...same with good mornings and barbell squats. They probably don't want beginners to fuck themselves up lol
Mountain climbers and jumping lunges are good a good way to build your calfs up, making them more capable of supporting your weight for bigger lifts during squats and leg press as well.
Great video man, been watching all of them and I'm starting to concentrate more on compound exercises to bulk up a bit. Might risk going up a weight class and getting my head kicked in but I'm getting and SIA license to do some security work, so it helps if you look a little more intimidating haha.
Jump to the top and then lower yourself to a count of 5 or 10 seconds. Lowering muscles are 40% stronger than the lifting muscles. Once you get used to this start doing proper pull ups. Make sure you keep good form though. 1 pull up with proper form is better than 10 with bad form.
Yeah I usually prefer dumbells over barbell for bent over rows and bench press sometimes. Can change your grip to utilise different muscles and it helps you bring the strength of your weaker arm up as it has to do the movement without relying on the stronger arm to do the majority of the lift. Both can be done with one arm on a bench as well to maximise the weight your using to see greater strength gains.
Start with light weights and aim for different muscle groups each workout. If you just keep doing similar movements per workout and then change muscle groups each time, you'll get a lot better at the exercises and you'll hit the muscles a lot more. Also an easy way to get used to compound movements. If there are people in the gym doing the same exercises then ask for help. Most gym people are happy to give you advise or even spot you if you need it. We've all been there and know what it's like.
so basically i should add these exercises like when i do my back make sure i do bent over rows or chest i should do flys and so on........not all these in 1 session
Yeah, If you do all these in 1 session you'll completely burn your body out. Muscles can take up to 5 days to repair themselves so you should only do a couple of muscles groups a day and then cycle throughout the muscle groups as the week goes on. So say Monday you do Back and biceps, tuesdays do light supersets, wednesday do chest and triceps, thursdays pyramid schemes, friday do legs and shoulders, saturday do core and then rest sunday...just an example but that's the sort of thing I do
No, maybe as you start to get a bit more advanced you can use them all in a full body workout, but for the majority of workouts you want to aim for specific muscle groups in each workout. I recommend back and biceps as one, chest and triceps as another, legs and shoulder and finally core exercises. In this order as well...this is very important as well as you use legs in a large amount of exercises and your core muscles come into nearly every exercise so you don't want to tire them out.
If you want to gain the most mass, then this kind of workout is perfect for you. If you already like your size but want specific muscle groups to stand out then do what luke said. Vince's videos are to gain mass. I highly recomend that you visit his website, I have bought his program and it is by far the best i've seen. Even though he does focus on gaining mass, he does have a program for weight loss, abs, etc. Everything in his program is step by step, so no guessing is needed on your part.
Forgot to mention I do some light cardio with my core workout along with swimming and I do various martial arts on different days of the week as well to stay flexible and supple. That's just me though as I don't want to get too big and like to keep it balanced...plus I just like combat sports haha. But even Vin Diesel does yoga and pilates.
That's why he's giving safety tips...if you jump straight in the deep end with massive weights then of course you're gonna pull something, but you should start with light weights no matter what exercise your doing, no matter how big you are. I've known bodybuilders to pull muscles doing kettle bell exercises purely 'cause they're not used to it. Doesn't mean you should just never try the exercise, that's stupid advise.
This guy gives good advice. Compund exercises are really great especially if you're skinny. I used to be skinny, and I focused on these 7 exercises when I started using the gym. It worked. As for Dip exercise, I prefer to do feet-up bench dip. I also prefer using dumbells when I do bench press exercise.
Man, after watching this video i now realize that you need to do more then just Chest Back & Arms, im sure alot of us out there can say that we have slacked off a little bit and put our main focus on just those 3 big muscle groups but as of tomorow (monday) im going to incorporate these other excercises into my plan and try it for a few weeks to see how the results are...one thing i do not agree with is when he said the other bogus supplements, creatine can definitly be used as a muscle builder
@built04Cobra - Check out Vince's 6 week mass building routine. The video is on youtube- it's an absolute killer, all body workout. I have used it for a year now, and I've seen amazing results. BUT- follow it religiously, eat sensibly and often, other wise it won't work!
nice video, the more i watch his videos the more i like what hes doing and saying.. hey would you advide doing them in that order? and turning them into a set of some sort? like 6-8 reps before moving onto the next excercise? for like 3 or 4 sets??
Thanks for the information!!I love your video!!! Its a great learning I received from you!To watch video about 7 minute muscle building just enter my channel and watch videos!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Vince your stamina sucks. I would like to see you do fifteen Pull ups. No excuses. I dont know how you are getting that size. But lets see you do fifteen pull ups. All the other trainers you associate yourself with can do it or they look like they can do it (Craig, Arnel,) You look like a bloated body builder. do some body weight exercises so you look like some fit person.
nice routine just dont like how your thumbs are on the same side of your fingers on the bench press. Ive seen a lot videos and heard stories of the bar slipping off your palms so I would prefer you keeping your thumbs underneath the bar so you dont have that problem. Just some advice.
best weight gain shake out there - Super Mass Gainer. i wrote an article about how weight gain shakes help. link is on my profile. plz dont mark as spam i am tryin to help.
first off the parappa the rappa shit was definitely the funniest thing i heard all day and the dude that said squats not good for ya.. i beg to differ you probably a noob at lifting and was bent over like an asshole. not making fun of you or anything but it is good for your back(when properly done right)
Calm down mockery, I know that I did it wrong. But people who start at the age of 13 like me(when i hurt my self), your back is not well develloped so it's not good. If you put to much weight, like I did, it can be not good. If you do it correctly (what I didn't do) it can be good. Ok! so relax dude...
cortisol is what apparently eats away muscle if ur at the gym 2 long.. correct me if im wrong but i think thats the chemical released after ur body has ran out of adrenaline.

do we need to feel soreness/weakness after every workout?
baeronautics 1 year ago
@baeronautics
Everytime you lift weights, you are creating small micro tears in your muscle. This is where that soreness comes from. In order for your muscle to grow stronger it must go through this breakdown and rebuilding process. You will feel sore for two - four days depending on the muscles used. A proper warm up and cool down will help decrease the soreness. Also a BCAA supplement (Branched Chain Amino Acids) from any nutrition or supplement store will also help cut down the soreness.

For some reason deadlifts aren't permitted at the gym I go to at my school, it sucks.
Sillyjake86 1 year ago
it's easy to do them badly and really throw out your back...same with good mornings and barbell squats. They probably don't want beginners to fuck themselves up lol
mitchX 1 year ago
Mountain climbers and jumping lunges are good a good way to build your calfs up, making them more capable of supporting your weight for bigger lifts during squats and leg press as well.
LUKESTFD 1 year ago
Great video man, been watching all of them and I'm starting to concentrate more on compound exercises to bulk up a bit. Might risk going up a weight class and getting my head kicked in but I'm getting and SIA license to do some security work, so it helps if you look a little more intimidating haha.
LUKESTFD 1 year ago
pull ups are soo hard. i cant do even 1. any tips?
SOCOMvet69 1 year ago
Jump to the top and then lower yourself to a count of 5 or 10 seconds. Lowering muscles are 40% stronger than the lifting muscles. Once you get used to this start doing proper pull ups. Make sure you keep good form though. 1 pull up with proper form is better than 10 with bad form.
LUKESTFD 1 year ago
use an assisted pullup machine....also get used to holding your upper body as high as you can

can the rowing exercise be done effectively with dumbells??
LOGXTOMXLOG 1 year ago
Yeah I usually prefer dumbells over barbell for bent over rows and bench press sometimes. Can change your grip to utilise different muscles and it helps you bring the strength of your weaker arm up as it has to do the movement without relying on the stronger arm to do the majority of the lift. Both can be done with one arm on a bench as well to maximise the weight your using to see greater strength gains.
Hope this helps, Foster.

are tese exercise good for fat burning aswell?
banjobickley 1 year ago
@banjobickley Strength exercises are better for fat burning compared to the old-fashioned cardio.
aizan91 1 year ago
so you think a program like this is a good fat burner......i dont think im fit or strong enough to do this
banjobickley 1 year ago
Start with light weights and aim for different muscle groups each workout. If you just keep doing similar movements per workout and then change muscle groups each time, you'll get a lot better at the exercises and you'll hit the muscles a lot more. Also an easy way to get used to compound movements. If there are people in the gym doing the same exercises then ask for help. Most gym people are happy to give you advise or even spot you if you need it. We've all been there and know what it's like.
LUKESTFD 1 year ago
so basically i should add these exercises like when i do my back make sure i do bent over rows or chest i should do flys and so on........not all these in 1 session
banjobickley 1 year ago
Yeah, If you do all these in 1 session you'll completely burn your body out. Muscles can take up to 5 days to repair themselves so you should only do a couple of muscles groups a day and then cycle throughout the muscle groups as the week goes on. So say Monday you do Back and biceps, tuesdays do light supersets, wednesday do chest and triceps, thursdays pyramid schemes, friday do legs and shoulders, saturday do core and then rest sunday...just an example but that's the sort of thing I do
LUKESTFD 1 year ago
so ur saying not to do all of these in 1 session
hoopajoob95 1 year ago
No, maybe as you start to get a bit more advanced you can use them all in a full body workout, but for the majority of workouts you want to aim for specific muscle groups in each workout. I recommend back and biceps as one, chest and triceps as another, legs and shoulder and finally core exercises. In this order as well...this is very important as well as you use legs in a large amount of exercises and your core muscles come into nearly every exercise so you don't want to tire them out.
LUKESTFD 1 year ago
If you want to gain the most mass, then this kind of workout is perfect for you. If you already like your size but want specific muscle groups to stand out then do what luke said. Vince's videos are to gain mass. I highly recomend that you visit his website, I have bought his program and it is by far the best i've seen. Even though he does focus on gaining mass, he does have a program for weight loss, abs, etc. Everything in his program is step by step, so no guessing is needed on your part.
AllAboutLearning 1 year ago
Forgot to mention I do some light cardio with my core workout along with swimming and I do various martial arts on different days of the week as well to stay flexible and supple. That's just me though as I don't want to get too big and like to keep it balanced...plus I just like combat sports haha. But even Vin Diesel does yoga and pilates.
LUKESTFD 1 year ago
1 session u can do all theses coz its a full body workout while one body part rests the other one works
ilovebritishbulldogs 1 year ago
don't try any of these exercises... u will only pull ur bck... dis guy is a pro
crypticlooks 1 year ago
That's why he's giving safety tips...if you jump straight in the deep end with massive weights then of course you're gonna pull something, but you should start with light weights no matter what exercise your doing, no matter how big you are. I've known bodybuilders to pull muscles doing kettle bell exercises purely 'cause they're not used to it. Doesn't mean you should just never try the exercise, that's stupid advise.
LUKESTFD 1 year ago
This guy gives good advice. Compund exercises are really great especially if you're skinny. I used to be skinny, and I focused on these 7 exercises when I started using the gym. It worked. As for Dip exercise, I prefer to do feet-up bench dip. I also prefer using dumbells when I do bench press exercise.
inimark5 1 year ago
great video all of these exercises truly work and are effective if done correctly.
MONGO556 2 years ago
Man, after watching this video i now realize that you need to do more then just Chest Back & Arms, im sure alot of us out there can say that we have slacked off a little bit and put our main focus on just those 3 big muscle groups but as of tomorow (monday) im going to incorporate these other excercises into my plan and try it for a few weeks to see how the results are...one thing i do not agree with is when he said the other bogus supplements, creatine can definitly be used as a muscle builder
built04Cobra 2 years ago
@built04Cobra - Check out Vince's 6 week mass building routine. The video is on youtube- it's an absolute killer, all body workout. I have used it for a year now, and I've seen amazing results. BUT- follow it religiously, eat sensibly and often, other wise it won't work!

Just some advice.

first off the parappa the rappa shit was definitely the funniest thing i heard all day and the dude that said squats not good for ya.. i beg to differ you probably a noob at lifting and was bent over like an asshole. not making fun of you or anything but it is good for your back(when properly done right)

rofl then you did it wrong.
ikickedu 2 years ago
@skatekikflip Just because your form sucks and you fucked up your back doesn't mean an exercise that has been done for decades is dangerous.
MockeryMadeEasy 2 years ago 2
Calm down mockery, I know that I did it wrong. But people who start at the age of 13 like me(when i hurt my self), your back is not well develloped so it's not good. If you put to much weight, like I did, it can be not good. If you do it correctly (what I didn't do) it can be good. Ok! so relax dude...
