Depends on your area. The tank this guy made is skinned with plywood. Guns could be considered replica firearms, but at the very least anything above a certain velocity is considered a firearm and you need a gun license.

That thing looks fucking badass. If I had built that myself, I'd be so proud, just looking at it would make me intensely happy. I'd drive that thing around all day. I wonder how it does off road on paintball scenario courses. It would need good traction when driving over bumps, stumps, rocks, tree trunks, small holes, muddy areas. Looks like it would work well on normal trails, I'm sure this kid can re-vamp it so its off road capabilities are heightened. Amazing.

Seriously, that is the cats ass. I've seen vids of a couple real looking paintball tanks before but they were actually snowcats that the guys chopped the body off and built over the tracked chassis. Which was a pretty decent idea, but what did you use as a chassis? Oh I read on the comments, winch motors for the turret, nice job! If that was for a project I guess they'd have to give you an A.
