Gou can fix this by downloading "Color Profiles" from cydia. Select bold color sheme and move the slider to your liking. Fixed mine, now it looks as white and normal as the iphone 4. The app kind of lets you set up your gamma and contrast and everything.

Whats even sadder is Apple refusing to admit there is a problem. A fucking blind person could see there is a problem. What's happening with Apple? I guess its a new day since Steve died. They use the same screen so there is no question it should look like the iPhone 4. If it doesn't, there is a problem. And there is one. I want a White iPhone 4S. There are certain types of color types; warm, cold, and neutral/mild. The iPhone 3GS uses a "cold" preset where all the colors are a lot less vibrant and look as if it was a rainy day. The iPhone 4S uses the "warm" preset, which is far different than the cold preset, but makes it look as if the colors are more like the Summer. Hope this explanation helps.

Like someone commented here, if your phone is jailbroken u can download a tweak from Cydia called "colour profile". You can use that to change your colour temperature to a cooler blue or make it even more yellowy.

After all these yellow screen complaints, I actually went ahead and compared the iPhone 4S to an iPhone 4, an iPad 2, and an iMac; and what I noticed was that both iPhones were bluer than everything else. Unlike many people here on Youtube I could not tell the difference between the iPhones, and the difference between the iPhones and the iPad 2 / iMac was so small that I could not even record it.

I suppose it may have something to do with manufacturing process.

All they have done is warm the screen up by using a tint.

I use these filters all the time as a photographer you can try it out yourself by using PS just load an image up select adjustment and then add a photo filter.

I hate the old style blue wash which gives a blueish effect to white (cool tones)

They have just made the screen warmer which someone else has pointed out.

For those commenting that it's just warmer tones, you're not entirely correct. The color palette is not the same. The hues are more dull on the 4S than the 4. This could be a PR problem for Apple if they don't nip it in the bud.

This is happening with the iPad 2 as well. The first iPad has that nice white/bluish, which is what I love and the iPad 2 is more yellow. I knew this was gonna happen with the iPhone 4S. Not yellow, warmer. My iPhone 4S looks the same, my iPhone 4 is colder (blueish) looking. It just the way it handles the color tones. You're just used to the blueish color but you'll get used to this again. Blueish is not the correct standard of the screen anyhow.
