Bands like Despised Icon are as brutal and technical as anything i've heard outside of grindcore type stuff. I love metal but god damn I hate the elitism of some of the fans...music is music.

@whata57 you despise the elitism yet you say these guys are softcore. frankly I still dislike "deathcore." I just like the styles of certain geographical regions. German thrash (and apparently German deathcore or w/e you call it) sound awesome to me (ex: Sodom, Kreator). Just like I'm a big fan of the SF Bay Area metal sound...old school thrash bands like exodus and testament and forbidden and old metallica. Newer bands like machine head and high on fire. I guess that applies to HSB too.

The most famous band would be We Butter The Bread With Butter. They call themselves a Death Pop band. Listen to "WBTBWB - Schlaf Kindlein Schlaf" and klick through all the related videos. "Extrem" has an awesome melody at 2:30, I think and a very danceable song is for example "Der kleine Vampir".
