  • Oh hey! Have you considered - fast abs magic (should be on google have a look)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my father got ripped Six pack abs and lost crazy amounts of belly fat with it.

  • Your metabolism does slow down when you enter into starvation mode, your body wants to keep you alive as long as possible - thus the metabolism slows down and burns your fat stores (after your glycogen has been depleted)

  • How in the world could you say that starvation more is a myth? If a person cuts down their calorie intake by about 3x (for instance), then the body would definitely react. In an event like this the metabolism would most certainly slow down. Otherwise if a person was starving from lack of food they would die quite quickly, yet they don't, because the body finds ways to keep itself alive.

    What you where talking about in this video has nothing to do with starvation mode.

  • The best way to lose weight is to reduce your calories by 500 calories a day by dietary restrictions and calories expended during exercise. 3500 calories is 1 lb of fat. By resitriction of calories for 500 a day x 7 days a week = 3500 per week thats one pound of fat per week... I have been following this body transformation workout from vastmuscle (.com) and it helps burn those calories.

  • Did you all also know a fat person cannot die from starvation? Starvation only happens when all fat cells are depleted and the body starts using muscle tissue to provide energy for vital organs. Thats why a 400 pound fat man can get lost on a deserted Island and survive over 2 months with just water alone. And come back home weighing 150 lbs. LOL

    Purpose of fat is stored energy incase you get lost and you are fucked. Hence why children in Africa are skin and bones when they starve not 400 lbs!!

  • Perhaps not starvation, but certainly malnutrition if the fasting is carried out over a long enough period and proper supplementation is not observed.

  • Is working out, for example doing traditional cardio or metabolic resistance training, on an empty stomach better for body fat burning or is this just a myth? At times, when working out on an empty stomach, I found myself feeling queazy, and that my performance during exercise suffered; how do you handle that?

  • I handle this one of two ways: Get used to it, or eat. Really, from a personal perspective, never let anything compromise your workout. Exercising is better for your health than not exercising, and if you can't exercise on an empty stomach, don't.

  • It has been found to in some studies, however the effect is small.

    It's best to think of short periods of fasting as not effecting your metabolic rate in either way.

  • It's amazing how much stronger you are after you lose weight, especially if you have been carrying it around for a while. I lost 75 lbs and went to try and close a shop/garage door that hung up one day and accidentally did a one-arm pull up.

  • I remember when I lost 110 pounds with hypnosis, healthy eating & exercise how frustrating it was on the stair mill to see the calories I burned in 30 minutes decrease as the weight came off.
