  • i love food fighters!!!

  • That was a great show. I remember finding Food Fighters fascinating and I wished they had made it a cartoon series. I even imagined ideas for later characters like Officer Ring the Onion Ring and Corpral Chili for the Kitchen Commandos. And Macho Nacho and Fishy Patti for the Refrigerator Rejects.

  • I always wanted these but I never got many toys cuz my parents are cheap assholes! I wish I could own these always ebay i guess

  • by tnts

  • LOL This reminds me of the first day of MTV :P

  • Man, TNTS has changed so much since this first episode, and it will be sad to see the show end this Saturday.

  • pixel dan is the heart of soul of TNTS!!1

  • dirt is huge

  • Doh! I meant to 2 from each faction.

  • I had 4. One from each faction. The doughnut and chicken leg , and the french fries and the cookie. My favorite was a toss up between fries and doughnut. I see you have the edition with pink frosting, mine had chocolate.

  • 27 yrs old, I knew I had something like this when I was kid but I could never remember WTH they were, .... THEY WERE FOOD FIGHTERS! THEY DO EXIST!!! ......I am a moron.

  • Great show! Nice obscure toy review, I actully bought all of these guys with some birthday money myself and later bought the combat grill or whatever it was.All I remember is my friends asking me 'What the hell are these things'? Funny they werent based on a cartoon or anything.

  • Foo Fighters.

    'Nuff said.

  • hey,

I got those here all 10, complete wirh backpacks and weapons.

  • Do u have doubles

  • i was 7 that day because it was my birthday

  • mean weiner!

  • They look creepy

  • OMG i remember having some of these as a kid!

    I had:

The Burger, Chicken leg, Hot Dog, Cookie, Taco, and the Fry!

It is so neat seeing the figures I never had! Good review!

  • BEST THING DEVALL HAS EVER SAID: SWING YOUR ARMS FROM SIDE TO SIDE COME ON ITS TIME TO DO THE MARIO!!!!!!

  • The first one of these guys I owned was Sgt. Scoop. Although you have a few of the variants including Scoop, who is originally a chocolate scoop. Short Stack also had regular syrup instead of blueberry, which while I like the blueberry, it takes away from the "look" of Stack having a nose. Chip the Ripper also had a chocolate version with butterscotch chips and Major Munch had a chocolate version and strawberry. I always wanted the latter version.

Anyone know the reason for these variants?

  • I remember the food fighters! I had the donut, the pizza, the taco, and the burger! Great show, by the way. I just discovered it last night and I'm now going back to watch them from the beginning.

  • @slinkyboysix I remember the action figures and thought there was a show but... I found out there wasn't one.

  • what are the toys @ 4:09? I remember having those as a kid.

  • I remember as a kid wanting these, so much so I shoplifted them and was CAUGHT! It was at a Woolworth, I was caught, I was TERRIFIED. The security guard told me never to go back in that store. So imagine how much I shit myself when my mom wanted to go at least once a week.

    Taught me never to steal.

  • I remember these!! you are my new hero!

  • One of the most OBSCURE toy lines from the 80's!!! This is why I love Youtube, where else am I ever gonna see these guys again!???

  • I am a HUGE obscure toy fan.I have the fry chopper, the bbq bomber, the combat carton and all the figures.i did have to spend alot of money for that combat carton though.I still love my food fighters.

  • Got memories of the commercial. I did use to have a puzzle of Food Fighters

  • what if there was a tv show based off this that would be cool

  • @superslashable We're kind of making a web-released show that has them in it, as well as all kinds of other action figures. The taco and ice cream are in episode 3...

  • my major munch had brown icing instead of pink, and my short stack had more of a syrup colour than purple

  • cool food fithers cool concept figures look great and how bad kitchen playset never came

  • These Food Fighters were some seriously ugly fuckers.

  • Me and My friend came up with something like this and we didn't even know about it We had Canloupe Man and Watermelon,Burgers lol

  • Yeah, I'm 27. I've been looking all over for the Food Fighters. I had most of the figures. I remember them well. LT leg and Taco Terror, and Fat frenchie were my favorites.

  • I had the whole set. Except my ice cream was chocolate, as was the doughnut. And my pancakes had brown syrup. I even had the lunchbox, which I took to school every day.

I didn't take good care of my toys. Some got lost never to be found again. I assume they were eventually thrown away. But the Food Fighters I still have are General, Private Pizza, Lt. Leg and Major Munch. All from the good guy team. So I guess they won in the long run.

I wish I could have them all back again. I'm 28.

  • awesome..man i love those things..wish i still had them..yes as 24 yr old man i would play with them

  • I had all of them except the fries and the ice cream...Although, was there ANOTHER ice cream cone model that looked like a chocolate Ice cream instead of...Whatever flavor the one in the video looks like...B/C I think I had that one...

  • sweet guys. can you a secret wars one. you probably did one already.

  • I still have the hamburger and the taco.

  • i had everything my fav figure was the burger and the cookie.......... What if mattel rereleased these food fighters? that would be awesome

  • i remember one kid mentioning food fighters when i was about 10 i was stunned cause iv been collecting toys since i was 4 it wasnt till i saw this video that i first saw the food fighter line

  • Nice choice going with the food fighters for favorite obscure toyline. I was one fig. and one vehicle short of a complete collection as a kid.

  • OMFG!!!!!!!!! i used to have that spider toy!!!

  • I probably woulda forgotton these forever if it weren't for this video..

  • Whats the name of the toy line in 4:10??

  • Awesome toy line. Remind me of Will Vinton's (sp?) work.

  • My brother had a couple of those. We had the Fires, the Pancakes, and the grill tank

  • you guys rule

  • you guys do great videos on random old toys like this and muscle men. how about some barnyard commandos? oh and that new toy smell (the scent not your show) is kind of like feces sometimes with older packaged figures i open

  • Good god these are bizarre. I love this. Keep making more of these videos. Their the best.

  • Combat Carton ruled.

  • do you know the action figures shown in 4:10

  • what were the litle figures it shows there with the hologram on the chest that u rub...i had loads of them.

  • i had the combat carton!!!

  • This was probably one of the best underrated mattel toys out there. Thanks for giving it the recognition that it deserves. This was my favorite toys (besides Star Wars and GI Joe) when I was a kid. I loved it so much, I actually have every single toy. Though, I do wish that I kept it in better condition, but damn it, they were really fun to play with.

  • I wanted Food fighters so bad when they came out(looking back, they were cheaply made, hollow-like a plastic dog toy & kind of lame). They actually debuted in 89(spring/early summer I believe). The Donut guy U have("Major Munch"), is actually off-color. He was originally had brown glaze. A few yrs after the line came out, U could find Food Fighters in the local dollar store(like Pick N' Save)w/off colors. You could get regular figures as well, but I believe most were 2nds.

  • look man let be honest with you that theme song sucks ass but an alright show

  • I miss my Food Fighters so much. My parents sold them in a yard sale when I was a kid, and I'll never forgive them for it.

  • I'm loving the enthusiasm you guys have

and the close up shots of the toys.

Please get a better microphone for

the segments where you two are sitting

    behind the table.

Looking forward to more "That New Toys Smell"

    Woo Hoo ! ! !

  • I also agree, they are some of the coolest friggen figures ever.

  • Pixel Dan and Devall are soooo awesome!!!!

  • cool maybe next episode you could do legend of zelda

  • Great new show Dan. Turned out really well !! :)

  • Sweet and smooth. There's lack of anything... I want a DIRT T-shirt for Xmas.

  • my god!i completly forgot those one say dan

do you know the food transformers there where

    promotional toy at burger king

  • Actually, they were a McDonald's promo toys. And yep, I have quite a few of those. Good chance they'll get some coverage at some point! :)

  • P.S., a bit of constructive criticism for you all: the footage of all the characters from around 6:20 to about 8:00 was a little redundant, considering you'd done several panning and individual shots of them earlier. If you're going to have footage like that I'd prefer to hear some more commentary, if there's any to be had; otherwise, I'd have much preferred a quicker-paced 8-minute video than a slow-paced 9:15-minute video.

Still, like I said, I did enjoy this video. Keep up the good work!

  • Oh snap, I remember these. I'm pretty sure I had the cookie dude at least. Now am I crazy, or does the chicken leg look like a super-pissed-off Colin Mochrie?

Anyway, you've made an interesting series here. I'm looking forward to seeing more!

  • Awesome new show man!

  • Aw, only 9 minutes? I can't wait for part 2.

This is addressed to anyone reading this; What did you think of the mail away Captain Rex's new toy smell?

  • I want those guys now there pretty cool they remind me of Clayfighters & I'd love to make a toy video with them.

  • every toy i buy i open and i play with too. I remember the food fighters back in the day. I only had the burgerdeir general and i remember cing the hotdog bad guy b4 too. Awesome start to ur new show I really loking forward to the god of war pixels to plastic.

  • Congratulations for the new show! :D

  • Thanks Danny!!

  • why would you open a toy u have been serching 4 4 along time

  • Because ... he'd been searching it for a long time?

  • Because I'm not a MOC collector. I'm an opener. :)

Some toy collectors keep them int he box, some open. I'm usually the latter.

  • part of the fun of owning a toy is playing with it. That way, you don't send all your time just playing with yourself.

  • I've been trying to find the Small Soldiers set but they're most of the time out my budget.

  • It's finally here!

Great Video, hope to see more.

BTW, Ever hear of Michael Mozart? He does toy reviews also.

  • Awesome

But as a child, i would never have wanted one of the "Food Fighters" (except the french fries ^^)

looking forward to your horror figures episode

    keep up the good work
