Both. What you do is to set the camera to take many pictures during 5-10 seconds. Sort of like a film. And then you set them toghether. It's quite easy.( bear in mind you need a retroreflector camera) I bet it is photoshoped too, to make the shadows/contras etc better. Hope it answared your question :)
