In Koopa Cape there, you can see that it doesn't matter whether you use an item up right away or if you save it for later--there's always a chance of a Lightning taking it away from you.
Yep. If there was a story to my racing "career" it would definitely have a paragraph here or there consisting of nothing but "And then there was lightning."
Then again, it's true for everybody (except for the one who triggered it, of course), so it really doesn't need to be stated, even if it does seem from time to time as though it was set off specifically for you.
All you can really do is shrug it off and pick up the pieces...maybe next time it will be yours or you will have a Star.
It's devastating on Maple Treeway, as a disproportionate amount of them take place in the tiny gap in the track right after the two boost pads. I take it that it's because of the first Item Box cluster after the jump.
It sometimes seems like the Lightning Bolt users are better strategists than they really are.
