Well, they are just that, they are his ingredients! He has his and you have yours and you know the story, a real cook never gives their recipe in its entirety
THE MAN IS JUST GIVING YOU THE BASICS!
Don't be mad at him and don't be cheap! Either go and buy a Book on how to cook wild game or go to the public library and check out a few wild game cook books. Your rabbit may tune out just as good as his or maybe better!

You know your ingredients, don't say, "you can always use...."
People looking for recipes do not want to be left with lots of, "ifs or buts or perhaps..."
