Stock rear end lasted 2 years of the V8 swap and I am willing to bet I drive way harder than you. Three events back I swapped in another different low mileage S13 R200 diff. that I had welded because the original was starting to get some play in the pinion from drifting. And on this new setup I'm putting down around 420whp. Point being stock S13 R200 differentials have no problem holding the power. If youre gonna break anything on the rear end of an S13 it's going to be the CV joints.
@hunaro oh Really? thats badass. way to go then. What did you do for a driveshaft? have 1 made? I would like to source out and try to find 1 out of another car at a junk yard for the time being. thanks for the info on the rear end.
@maluchman1 thanks man but as you can see I posted that 9 months ago I now work in a fabrication shop and considering the swap cost $1700 I think I'll make it. Plus I'll just make everything out of aluminum.
But now I want to do a vq35 swap in my convertible first then build a chevy swap drag car out of my "parts" hatch.
Hopefully one will be done before summer is out bwhahaha.
were did you get the enigine? "totaled truck" do you know if the stock headers work? im in CA and i want to do the swap i just want it smog legal, im just going with after cat exaust with single exit
That is so unbelievably cheap!! To get a swap like that done in the uk would cost about 4000 in labour easily (so 8000 dollars), thats excluding ALL parts.
gotta admit import cars look better but domestic engines are the best as stock, so its nice to have a mix
