The more I listen to this variation, the more I realize the genius in Robin's work ... Pachelbel's Canon in D is a noble and elegant melody, and though the classic form usually contains an emphasis on strings, this piece seems to have more lift, offering more to captivate the ear, remaining true to the central melody without repeating it too often. It conveys more emotion and feeling than the classic, in part, because Robin varies speed and forte, loud, then sweetly soft. This transports me!
