  • Remember ONCE, Gewies-Ballan and Barnesto Not to forget Festina EPO or not EPO They all did it. I still Love them

  • Andrea Tafi, ¡CRACK!

  • "Museew is making a move, or is it just me who gets excited" xD

  • Mapei 1-2-3-5 impossible without doping !!!!!

  • @valjean1ful And lots of their opponents was doped too... soo, who cares?

  • this video goes back to the times that doping the whole team was just normal haha its so funny now to see how stupid we were back in 1996 to believe this shit !

  • has there ever been another 1-2-3 by the same team in recent cycling history?

  • @MacTobey 2001 Paris-Roubaix, Domo-Farm went 1-2-3 as well.

  • @MacTobey Yes, 1-2-3, Gewiss Balan on the Fleche Wallone, but like 10 years ago.

  • @MacTobey In 1998 Ballerini won before Tafi and Peeters (all Mapei)

In 1999 Tafi won, Peeters was 2nd and Steels 3rd (all Mapei).

In 2001 Knaven was first, Museeuw 2nd and Vainsteins 3rd (all Domo-Farm Frites).

But never in recent history did three riders of the same team finish together on the vélodrome.

  • Museeuw was de beste klassieke renner in de jaren ´90, no doubt about it! :)

  • Aqui iban de EPO HASTA EL CULO

  • Holy awesome scene!

  • Never liked this outcome. They should have sprinted for real !!!

  • great team and great fair play :D

  • sean kelly would have obeyed to team's

orders, just like any prof cyclist else , don't bitch around it , kelly was such a shortbrained moron & a pathetic winer

througout his career , he used to spell tons of bs & bizarre nonsenses and stole a few classic due to massive doping abuse, but the same he would have accepted what managed by those who payed his wage .....

Dont post shit if you know nothing of cycling

  • no team has ever dominated the classics like that Mapei team did.

  • museeuw is such a beast

  • cheat

  • not those days

  • At least Museeuw had the guts to confess, unlike so many others who doped way more than he ever did during those times. He was a great racer before EPO even came along anyway.

  • What's not shown is that a half-hour before this these three had broken away mostly behind Museeuw's power and were going to finish 1-2-3. Word was sent from Mapei-GB owner Giorgio Squinzi to Patrick Lefevere that Johan was to win. There was some discussion with the team car, but not once did Bartolomi or Tafi protest or complain because they knew how much work Johan had done here, and in other races.

I think most believe Museeuw would have out-sprinted them both anyway.

  • actually tafi and especially bortolami was in outrage over the decision. that's why bortolami also left the team

  • Yuo, no way they would have won against him

  • nice finish!

  • what a finish, brings a tear to a glass eye

  • 3 MAPEI sul podio, che grande squadra che era

  • The golden days of cycling.

  • Jesus, these people know nothing about cycling, one of the most beautiful finishes in Paris-Roubaix, that I've seen. Those two were working for Museeuw, so of course Museeuw has to win it.

  • museeuw should beaten them anyway

  • I remember watching this

  • It was said that Lefevre was on the phone with Squinzi and he decided the order.

  • for what im reading u guys dont know shit about cycling you are stupid fanatics hahaha . the best finish a ever seen

  • i didnt like this race it was obviously planned i dont understand why museeuw needed the race handed to him

  • Museeuw was by far the strongest rider in the race that day. He could have easily ditched Tafi and Bortolami. According to Lefevre they were demanding to Museeuw to slow down the tempo. Arriving with 3 MAPEI-cyclists at the finish, is just cool publicity.

  • Your team leader is supposed to win.

  • They finished 1-2-3. They're going to be remembered FOREVER.

  • if i was in the race, i would have tried to beat museeuw. if you win this race you'll be remembered for the rest of your life

  • But museeuw is the team leader, he is supposed to win

  • mapeiren erakustaldiak gaur egun ezinezkoak dira... bortolamiri utzi behar zioten garaipena, merezi baitzuen.

    Aupa Azpiru! gora E.H.askatuta!

  • This must be one of the dirtiest wins ever. Domination on the same level as the infamous Gewiss episode. Farcical. Reminds me of Discovery!!!!!!

  • EPO all the way...The Liar of Flanders.

  • What, you think the others aren't on EPO too? They just had the best riders on the best drug with the best doctor (see Museeuw's trial). It was the culture then...It's one thing to call the whole world of pro racing a cheat, but to point out just the winner (or winning team) is myopic.

  • ....they were all doped up, and they still are.

  • so why don't you go do do it yourself? smartass

  • Ik moet er niet aan denken! Veel te veel werk, al doe ik die P-R afstand in mijn auto......

  • Nice Race!!! Lets see what will happen today... Maybe Boonen - van Petegem - Steegmans ;-)

  • i was 7 and I didnt see it then. Thanks for posting it man.

    And wow mapei...

  • All of these guys, completely and utterly doped to the gills. Msr. Ferrari had a had in this one.

  • No, Museeuw and Tafi never had anything to do with Ferrari, only Bortolami was a client.

  • Pure domination...

If I remember right, this was on Museeuw's birthday.

  • Nope, Museeuw became world champion on his birthday, 13th of october

  • Mapai, best team EVER!

  • Can you say "Dopage"?

  • I was 10 and I never forgot about this race.

  • They should of fought it out.

  • no, no, no Bortolami was second, Ballerini was fith, after zanini,,, italian power, only the first...

  • Museuw, Tafi, Ballerini,,, wowwww,,, this was a great exhibition from the Mapei in the hardest classic in the world.

And the picture of the finish, with "los tres mosqueteros" is one of the best in the history of cycling...

  • What a great team was Mapei...

  • This is probarly the most classic Paris Roubaix ever. I hoped Ballerini would win btw.

I was 6 when I saw this and still remember it!
