  • Happy Birthday SAUL Williams

  • To set the record straight, Trent largely produced the album, but Thavius Beck was the main producer on this track. To quote, "Contrary to what the YouTube text says, I produced this... Trent did a filter sweep I think, Atticus got the mix sounding hot, CX yelled on it and Saul channeled Ghostface." Thavius Beck also has a producer credit on DNA from the Niggy Tardust album. Knowledge is power.

  • @kinjac good info!

  • shit, i've already liked this

  • He is not 'the future of hiphop'. Check yourselves man.

    He's the present of hiphop.

  • @YoungDirtyCwalk Check yourself. The present of hip hop is garbage like Lil Wayne, Soldier Boy, Wiz Khalifa and crap. Rappings about nothing but drugs, money, bitches and other crap.

  • @dwc311 Nope. The present of hiphop is Saul Williams. The present of hiphop is Atmosphere. The present of hiphop is Brother Ali. The present of hiphop is Aesop Rock. The present of hiphop is Cage. Etc.

The present of hip pop is garbage. There's a difference. Hiphop's not dead, Hip pop just took over the mainstream. Hiphop is alive in the underground, and honestly, the 2000s have been great, with the upcoming of those artists that I named. People are just looking for shit to rant on.

  • @YoungDirtyCwalk Oh ok wow. Im sorry. First off im not even really a hip hop fan nor do I know too much about the genre. But yeah I forgot that Wiz, Wayne, Drake and shit shouldnt even be considered hip hop. Rap maybe. Hip Pop IS what that crap is. Yeah I've listened to many rants about that notion though so i understand what your sayin there. Problem is I should have thought before I posted that response. See...It actually feels good admitting I was wrong about something.

  • @dwc311 Meh... Admitting to be wrong about something can feel good, when the outcome is still positive. XD

I just hate it when people say that hiphop's dead, or garbage or whatever, when exactly right now, so many dope artists are on top of their game.

  • @YoungDirtyCwalk opinions are just that and every person is entitled to their own. Unhappy people will always look to complain about everything. In my own personal opinion there are some great performers out there. I tend to listen to a variety of music. I love Rap, Hip Hop Rn B, dance music and Rock n roll. But lets be honest if music doesnt change with the time it becomes stale. There would have never been a door to be kicked down for artist like NWA and MC Lyte if Music had never made changes

  • @Amandalyn143 I'll just quote myself again: The present of hip pop is garbage. There's a difference. Hiphop's not dead, Hip pop just took over the mainstream. Hiphop is alive in the underground, and honestly, the 2000s have been great, with the upcoming of those artists that I named. People are just looking for shit to rant on.

  • My fucking computer won't go loud enough! This song needs to be loud!!!

  • I started listening to Saul cause of Nine Inch Nails Aka Trent Reznor and I love trents method, he's been against alot of fucked up things and has written great views. Year Zero is the best concept album dealing with the future and what is currently happening in our country but saul is amazing too. He sends out a great message and he's really a fighter for the people. I love the music and im sure has tons of respect from his fans.

  • Why does this video not have more views?!!!!!

  • all i know is saul is a singer i want to listen to more of

  • @JohnMeetsFKennedy first and foremost, it is spelled *lyrics* and secondly what point are you trying to make by bringing up myspace? thirdly, it's spelled *music* philosphy no matter how it is written exist in pure forms... its only an observation applied to an aspect of life and all that life encompasses. this is just a simple question to know where to go with my argument/this conversation, what philosophy are you familar with/ what other music do you listen to?

  • @JohnMeetsFKennedy Manson cannot sing yes... but to deny the philosophy of his lyrics is just being closed minded and to continue to argue a point continues to regress your thought process... and before you say something of me you know nothing of... i have studied both artist.. and they have studied much of the same poets, artists, and philosophers.. no im am not saying they are alike but perhaps they can be mentioned in the same breath

  • Seriously, Saul williams and Marilyn Manson are probably most intelligient artist out there and they do their music offending many other people which I think its even better because they just speak what's on their mind.

  • @vegamarco4 Please replace Marilyn Manson's name. With the name of an artist that doesn't suck huge cocks. Please don't respond by saying you only like his old stuff. It's all horrible.

  • @manman246 If he likes cocks whatever, but you cannot deny his music is intelligent and it did piss off a whole lot of people so fuck off.

  • this song has been on my MP3 player since 2008. WHAT!?

  • This isn't that good.

  • fucking awesome. anything trent touches turns to gold.

  • @MacDaddyPooty Trent is a music god.

  • nothing can save ya!! I'm tougher than bullets so baby pray to your savior

  • check me out and tel me what you think.thanks

  • Hip-hop has a bad rep for having explicit lyrics and being unoriginal. . Saul Williams isn't like that, sure he'll drop an f-bomb when he wants, but he knows what makes good music. best hip-hop artist ever. made me realize not all of it sucks, i love his works ever since i heard him in "Three Fingers".

  • Saul Williams is,indeed, brilliant but,if your'e relying on the mainstream media & major labels to spoonfeed you quality hip hop, then maybe you deserve the bullshit that they're publishing.

  • If you can call this hip-hop. It's more industrial than hip-hop. I guess they combine the two genres now. Industrial-Hip-Hop.

  • What? Not enough misogynous lyrics about hooking up with women, drugs and rocking bling?

You lack a grasp on the concept of hip-hop if you think Saul Williams is anything less than brilliant.

Don't believe me, look up some of his Def Comedy Jam stuff and then come back and tell me that Saul Williams is fucked up music.

  • You think I listen to Lil Wayne don't you? You're wrong, I know hip-hop I was referring this to fight music. I don't listen to crap, I listen to MF Doom and MF Grimm, don't tell me I don't hip=hop.

  • Did you not read a single thing I posted? I can't stand Lil Wayne... Or the majority of mainstream shit rap. MF Doom is amazing as is Aesop Rock, Fatlip, etc etc.

  • I meant this in a good way, like fight music. Damn, read and understand.

  • sorry hip hop expert, everyone it's ok just bow down the the hip hop master. i hate retards like you that don't understand experimental music. trent reznor is a god he knows what hes doing

  • This is one of those songs that when you first hear it you cannot believe someone had not come up with it earlier. Then you realize that only two people as special as Williams and Reznor could have come up with it.

  • I couldn't believe my ears when I first heard this. He's the most inspiring artist I've ever had the blessing of discovering.

  • Saul Williams one of the smartest artists. seriously THIS is what needs to be played on the radio and MTV

  • fucking love it

  • This guy is so freakin' talented is isn't even funny.

  • He is the future of hip hop, but people wont see that until it is too late.

  • amazing

  • The future of hip hop

  • I hope so...

  • @flyDEVIL There is only NOW. This is the the present. Not everyone will see it though. (2 years later)
