Apart from the scene overall being really funny (can't decide whether to lol or daw at the "I'm watching with my eyes closed" moment) there is another reason I love this scene. The sudden appearance of the horror poster tries to convince us that Ayu had seen a scary movie in the past, and that caused her not to go to cinemas any longer. Having finished the series, now I know the real reason. Nicely played I have to say.

I actually can sympathize with Ayu. I hate horror movies and refuse to watch them. Yet oddly enough, I seem to have developed a love for psychological thriller anime. This is probably due to my love of Higurashi. I still think Ayu was too adoreable in this though.
