  • All you critics sound like a bunch of Freshman music majors, unable to experience the beauty of a performance that has a different technical or musical interpretation than what your vast experience indicates. Shut your complaining mouths and celebrate the sublime when you are lucky enough to find it.

  • Bad soprano...open your throat during high notes!!!

  • I'm a soprano but, I'm trying to learn the second part to this for Church and this helped. Thanks it was lovely.

  • Why do they need words??????? They'd look a lot more relaxed if they didn't have the folders in their hands..... it would look more professional. Very nice sound, pity about the microphone

  • las voces son bonitas, lamentablemente el audio es pesimo, y por alli un violinista medio desafinado.

  • Well, the violins and the strings could use some fine tuning, though a very lovely rendition from the soprano.

  • Realmente el Pie Jesu es una pieza muy hermosa y una de las más dulces hacia Dios.

Lastima que en esta ocasión la interpretación de Teressa Byrne & tenor Peter Girardot no es la mejor.

  • The Tenor needs to ennunciate more. it sounded like he had peanut butter in his mouth, the soprano, brava.

  • @goldenecho

In first place, the tenor shouild learn to count to four. He is totally out of rhythm, hence destroying the fine interpretation of the Soprano.

  • I enjoyed this interpretation. Too bad about the recording though--- doesn't do you justice.

  • I forgot to tell you : I am a bass/baritone singing with my Head voice in that one... The piano between us and the camera muted us some... Head voice I am not too powerful...The Camera Sony Digital 8 has a good sound Pick Up...

  • I love it... too bad the microphone was over saturating at times... I just sang that song for Palm sunday 2009... We did our best on two noisy rehearsals... Our timing was a little off at times and we knew it... we did our best as Amateurs... You both sounded beautiful. Bravo . Come hear us in my site. Like you, We are going to be dissected....

  • the singers have the right idea....the strings play nicely...pity the conductor doesn't really seem to be paying much attention to anything other than how pretty he is....

  • Lovely, but too fast

  • wow!!!

  • If people have to tabe it get a better camera it totally ruins a rather beautiful piece of work... God.

  • the soprano has a beautiful high range. I would've like the tenor to be more of a light lyric, but still a very good job from both.

  • Beautiful, Teressa! Absolutely beautiful!

  • what is this???

cuting and taking out the bads??!!!??? :O that is that tempo??? alegro non tropo??!!!

    or presto??? :P

  • haha

  • Haha what?:P Sorry...wasn't me. My brother commented from my account.. Cause me..I can't see the difference :D If it sounds like a good interpretation ..then i can appreciate creativity ;))

  • Very nice, but why are they reading such a simple song. I bet they know all the words.

  • gd point that doesnt make much sense lol haha!!

  • There reading music, pitch and such, not the lyrics.

  • Hi there! We were using sheet music because Pie Jesu is an oratorio piece, and it's often standard practice with religious music. We could have done it from memory, but we wanted to make a visual and performative distinction between the sacred music, and our other opera arias and songs.

  • Of course! What would you have done with your hands? An oratorical requires the singers to appear to be consulting notations along with lyrics and notes.

Thank you for bringing that out, because I was wondering why you needed sheet music for something I learned in childhood (well, not the music, but the lyrics)....

  • @Yunginspirit

    Maybe, because they CAN read?

  • @Champlac - Of course they can read.

I think the Tenor needs to pronounce the words clearly and distinctly, like the Soprano does. I.E. one cannot understand what he is actually singing, in the first 4 lines especially..it sounds like, " Pee yay yay zoo!".

This song has been sung to death by umpteen singers, and I have rarely seen it sung with sheet music, that's all.

    Have a good day.

  • @Champlac: This song has been sung to death by umpteen singers (pretty as it is) and I've rarely seen it done with sheet music, that's all.

The Tenor needs to pronounce the words more clearly and distinctly. For instance, t sounds like he is singing, "Pee yay yay zoo...." He is way off.

  • of course the song is simple to memorise , they are reading the menu for the meal after the show . asparagus tipps , broccolie , fargrau , pheasant al a orange .

  • the rythm, where is the rythm?

  • Wie schön. Es ist nett zu hören, dass zwei Erwachsene dieses wunderbare Lied anstatt eines Soprans und Kinds singen. Der Herr hat eine schöne Tenorstimme.

  • beautiful

  • wow, her voice is like chocolate syrup, it just flows beautifully!

  • It's amazing how much better this song is performed with a full accompaniment. Your voice melts in the song, flowing, and your dynamics are more defined. I love it.

  • è lindo!!!! emocionante, envolvente, não me canso de assistir.

  • simply gorgeous

  • I love your dress too! A very dignified and beautiful performance from the whole ensemble. Just perfect. (I just had to watch it again.)

  • Wow, beautiful soprano. It just floats beautifully above the strings. Thanks for posting.
