Weird i was actually playing on Mushroom Hill,in Sonic Generations(3DS) before watching this video,anyway Sonic 3 & Knuckles was my favorite out of the classic sonic games,but if i had to pick the better "part" then Sonic 3 was my favorite,purely because of Ice Cap Zone.

Sometimes I wonder if Dr. Robotnik and Dr. Wily are having a competition to see who can build the stupidest robot, and those weathervane things in the first level are definitely near the top of that list.

Shame that Sonic's on the Wheel already. I like the idea of him ducking and hiding his eyes, like he can't bear to look at the crap that's going to be spun up.

22:26 - Zeta NOW remembers the lightning shield attracts rings.

Playing sonic 3& Knuckles gives you a longer time to actually find the emeralds. although their power is kinda useless if you find them once and not the second time around.

Also known as Sonic 3B. Didn't you know that hidden palace released the almost full Beta of the levels of both parts of Sonic 3 combined called Sonic 3C?

You should check that one out. Maybe there are differences between the combined Prototype only version over Sonic 3 and Sonic 3B Sonic & Knuckles as stand alones?

You know Zeta, you can double-jump with the electric shield. That makes it better than the bubble shield! *Except for in water, where only the Bubble shield will even survive*

I find it more surprising so many people expect me to be good at every single game just because they are, especially sincealmost every playthrough is blind or has been long enough to essentially be blind. I don't have the time or care to get good at games and most people don't want 17 parts of me doing so.

Save states are to allow me to recklessly get things over with as fast as possible and move on to the next, if you don't like this, you won't enjoy your time here

@ZetaPlays I think it lets you do the Doomsday secret zone if you have 7-14 of the Chaos Emeralds. It's like a "true final boss" thing.

The only real significant difference (if I can remember right) is that not only are there the regular Chaos Emeralds, there are also Super Emeralds which turn you into Hyper Sonic (or Knuckles). So there isn't really much relevence in playing it I guess.

@ZetaPlays On Sonic 3 & knuckles, you have a stage select screen, you have to do both games in a row where you can get 14 emeralds (small & big ones) to become hyper sonic, and you also have one or two extra stages. (and some neat bosses & shit)

@ZetaPlays IIRC, the only main differences were that the final boss in Sonic 3 isn't there (the one with the spikes on top and the grabby-hands), and you can can get not only the chaos emeralds to become super-sonic, but you then get the super emeralds to become hyper sonic (or tails/knuckles)

Speaking of emeralds, did you end up getting all of the emeralds in this playthrough? I'd hate for you to play through the whole game only to miss out on the true (and awesome) final level.

@ZetaPlays sonic 3 and knuckles lets you play all the levels from sonic 3 as well as the levels in Sonic and Knuckles. it also allows for finding not just the regular emeralds but the hyper emeralds as well. basically same game just more of it.

@Ironfruit16 the main differences are that it links the 'stories' of sonic 3 and the knuckles game into one smooth transistion, gives you save slots. Additional, If you collect all the emeralds in the sonic 3 levels, you will instead collect the super chaos emeralds in the S+K levels leading to sonic being able to become Hyper sonic. also, Knuckles and Tails are able to become their super forms with all the super emeralds.
