@vijfdevijfde If it's a great movie, then the director must be great, too. If he's repulsive as a human being is a whole different story. These are two seperate things, do not confuse them. Also, the same dark forces that shape a person to be, as you call it, repulsive can shape him/her to be a truly great artist. I hope you get that.
While watching The Unknown in theatres today, I couldn't help but think about how similar it was to this movie. Then again, it is also similar to the movie The Forgotten, The FlightPlan, and Bourne Identity(and many others, as well.)
A very good film. It's odd, though, how similar the set-up is for Dede, who is killed early in the film; he's in a kitchen, his body splayed on the floor, etc. There's a scene just like it in Chinatown, with a woman killed and discovered the same way. I also wonder why Polanski has the scene where Ford and Seignor are dancing go on so long... he must've really wanted to show off her moves. Funny how Ford keeps getting recognized by colleagues - in the company of a babe - not his wife.
This movie has melancholic feeling for me , because of the music and I love this movie but a lot of people don't know about it. I bought it first no VHS, then few months ago on DVD and just today on blue ray. That how much I like it.
@chaslavk Yes it is on blue ray, actually it cames with another Harrison Ford movie on one blue rye: "Presumed inocent." I bought it from Best Buy, here in Canada.
Brilliant movie! Have you notice that in the final scenie Michelle puts the bomb device in his right pocket and when the police arrives Walker puts his hand in his left pocket and discovers it. When he wants to take it out he takes it from his right pocket again. :)
I watched this film a long time ago once, and I really want to watch it again and again! Harrison Ford gives a great performance, and after I watched this video I just learned that Roman Polanksi, who also directed The Pianist (another one of my favorites) directed Frantic. Not surprising, actually. Great movie.
I LOVE this movie. Amazing cast - the brilliant Harrison Ford, the beautiful Emmanuelle Seigner and one of the most talanted directors ever Roman Polanski!!!
Love the trailer and I wish I knew the music being used in it. I remember going to see this when it came out and being very disappointed with polanksi. I don't think I've liked anything he's made in Europe except for Tess & this one, sort of cuz it has so much potential and fizzles .He tried to do Hitchcock but with no payoff. Still like the film but it sort of limps from scene to scene.
Harrison Ford in his prime. Great flick. Polanski's instincts are pitch perfect. Imagine if an American director had made this, it would've been rife with cliche and melodrama. Love this movie.
Great movie. Too bad it's made by that repulsive director.

@folladordeprostis Well, to be honest, I enjoyed The Unknown more than Frantic, but that's just my opinion.
