  • A nice dance, a lovely girl. It shows that a dance can be good without getting totally naked like americans do. This I call art. Greetings from Georgia!

  • This is not classic dance!!!

  • Wooow... beautiful... roya jan you are a natural talent... all your movement are rhythmic and synchronised with the music; I can see that there are 90% improvisations which radiates beauty and simplicity. At the top of that you have such a natural and genuine beauty yourself which adds to the general attraction of this performance. I really wish we could see more of your dances. Many thanks. shad va pirooz bashid.

  • PERFECTO FATASTIC !

  • you're an angel in disguise!

  • fuck off

  • I think the dance does look very skilled. The hint of symmetry is there without being forced or stale, so yes I think the steps are very precise, while still graceful.

  • She dances very well.

I hope that Iran will be free one day

  • BEAUTIFUL.................AND POWERFUL .

  • آفرین خیلی قشنگ میرقصی من تا حالا ۱۰ بر اینو نگاه کردم عالیه .

  • Well done! Keep up your good work! Thanks for sharing this beautiful dance video :)

  • Boring. Not creative.

  • @girlyouneedtoquit THEN YOU DANCE !

  • @Genevee1 I dance ballet, which is a civilized and elegant dance which requires actual skill, unlike this easy, elementary, garbage Persian dance which requires no skill at all.

  • @girlyouneedtoquit ... Such a shame that ballet failed to foster in you a civilized and elegant mind.

  • @erroneousbatch Providing useful critique to lesser-accomplished people (i.e. Iranians) is charity, dear, which is very elegant. You're welcome.

  • beautifull

  • she is so organized with her technics

  • afarin..be shoma khanoome irani...... moafagh bashid hamishe...khodesh koli jorat wa honar mikhad joloie afrade dige beraghsi.....zendebad raghs wa shadi

  • I really like Persians because, they were the first ones to give presents to baby Jesus. This dancing woman really looks like she has class. She could dance before my family any day. Oh, and stick it where the sun don't shine mangomaz....

  • Very beautiful well done:)

  • che tipe zeshti, in che damaniye

  • beauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutiful

  • absolute perfect

  • gorgeous . perfect . beautiful . i love you Iran and i love you all iranian

  • beautiful

  • kheily ghashge aziz roya jan!

  • Nice dance... but (and I'm saying this in not a mean way!!!) its really not *that* good why are so many people saying its the most amazing persian dancing they've ever seen?!

The movements don't look natural/comfortable and the young lady spends half her time looking down instead of out at the audience.

Practice some more in front of a mirror as well... it reveals a lot. Also - you are iranian and therefore POWERFUL ;) let it shine through when you dance. Don't be shy.

  • @mangomaz it definitely is a pure nice Persian dance ,the dancer does not use Arabic sexual themes in her dance that is for attracting opposite sex , with her eyes looking on the ground, not for showing herself, it is pure Persian art.

  • @MrEhsan262 Erm... I'm not sure where I mentioned anything about arabic sexual themes? Using your eyes is nothing to do with that.

  • bisyar maghbool, and very sophisticated. Good job sweet heart.

  • vaghean kheily zibast

mishe lotf koni baram in ahango beferstiiii

  • what song is this???

  • koriografi dar raghs khail mohemme krografie in dance ye ki az behtarinhast dar internet

  • bi ensafi nakon ghashang bood.

  • nice dance,verry nice girl:)hello from Hungary

  • I want to ask.......... This is so lovely! I want to learn this. What is the meaning of classic persian dance? What does it want to portray? Adn what about Bandari music?

  • Que hermosura!!!

  • Kheili ghashange Roya khanom.! Afarin.

  • it was good...it just looked like she was bored with it or something. idk, correct me if i'm wrong, but i dont think she wanted to do this dance. besides, the whole thing is a repeat of the same 5 dance 'moves'

  • Comment removed

  • persian dance is NO.1 !!!

  • You are so good and beautyfull :)

Iwould also like to know the name of the music??

  • Khodaye Mastoon

    by: Bijan Mortazavi

  • Damn she is good.

  • well, if you see classic persian dancing, that's the way it is. there is not that much of smile involved and your look is usually towards down or whereever your hand moves.

  • You tell her! I thought this was beautiful!

  • although ive seen some classic persian dances where the dancers smile, but mostly they tend to stay quite demure and modest, you're right.

  • EXCELLENT JOB!!! very pretty

  • esmeh ahangesch shie??

  • so beautiful. I want to see the Persia the old one! Zoroastrian Persia!!

  • loved her hands!!!

  • She dances fine but you can see her moves are often not symetric. Like most Iranian dancers!

  • I'm not professional dancer, in fact, I never took any dance class. whatever you see is my personal efforts.

  • baba she's just restless, ama rast migi yezare shol miraghse. its not because of the skill its more like she doesn't feel like putting the input . its cute!

  • No, it's not because I didnt feel like dancing. I had to keep up with the beat. Remember, this is persian dance, not hip hop! If you mean my hands, those should be loose! :D BTW, I'm not professional dancer, I didnt even take any dance class! anyways, thanks for your comments.

    iT IS ALSO ON YOUTUBE

  • The Name of the song is Khodaye Mastoon. Just search for Bijan Mortazavi it will be there.

  • wow...

  • To xeyli xoshgeli bud! I really liked the dance. Our of sheer curiosity, what would Iranians think if Americans wanted to take some dance classes? I know there's somewhat of a mixed reaction among Arabs with bellydance (which I perform). I love people of all cultures and think it's great to share in them...

  • Shameless American ~I, too, liked her dance~ Light and delicate like the music! Like you I am an American...I learned Middle Eastern dance when I was young. I would always hope that people of the Middle East would be flattered to know that some Americans love their music and dances. It really makes me shake my head in wonder when I read some of the negative comments. Just wish people would lighten up! Beautiful dancing Royadream!

  • Same with Iranians. I don't know why, as a persian i get very defensive when i see non iranians or non middle easterners really into middle eastern dance. its for political reasons. its like you guys insult our religion , our culture and then you try to take our dance and music away from us? that's the main reason. blame politics!

  • Maybe music and dance should have legalized, defined boundaries, would that make you happy and feel less threatend?

Honestly, the reason you get defensive has nothing to do with politics or religion, it has to do with the fact that you want to believe Persian music/dance makes you special and somewhow more unique or mysterious. You dont like the fact that it can be learned like anything else in life.

Having said that, the girl in this video is not good. .

  • i love the fact that you think you know me so well. its amazing, truly.

And no, i believe that traditions including rituals and dances are better appreciated by the cultures they come from and are perfected by the cultures they come from. sorry sweetie , that's just my opinion.

  • I know the human psyche sweetie, and your response validate my assertion. If your claim were remotely correct, only Americans could appreciate jazz and rock n roll and the millions of worldwide fans of those genres have no business listening to music not "their own." Your claim is misguided and uneducated.

  • I said it is better appreciated and understood by the culture it comes from, i never said that other cultures do not have the capability or the right to appreciate as well. My comment was an opinion, not a claim so why are you analyzing? Being such an "educated" person i would think you would have had a different and more open minded response.

  • My respnse is open-minded, it is yours that refuses to see past biases. The opinion you stated in your "feeling" and has no basis in reality. You were unable to defend your claim when it came to non-middle eastern music/dance. It is like you bought a dress, thought you were the only one who had it, and now you see others withthe same dress and are mad. Especially if it looks better on them tha you.

Anyway, the girl in the vid is an amateur, I would not be terribly threatened.

  • Listen this is how i feel. You can't tell me that my feeling is wrong or right because it is personal to me. That is a very good analogy but is completely irrelevant to my feelings. I havent said anything insulting to anyone so why are you so defensive?

  • the name of the song, please? mersi kheili khub bud

  • Purely persian!

  • can someone tell me about iran's history in no more than 500 words. thanks either directly mail or send me a websit's link. thanks

  • r u kiddin me?!?! google???

  • try reading 'The Shahnameh' by Ferdowsi

you can find it on ebay

  • Hi everyone! Thanks for your nice and lovely compliments! I'm not a professional dancer, I didn't take any dance class or anything. I just learned dancing because I love to dance. I don't know why some people arguing over a 5 minutes dance. I tried to do my best to show love, peace, and unity by means of music and dance! I'm very receptive and open about any critisisms. there are diversities in tastes and opinions of people which make our world more beautiful.

  • I love your dancing! It's something which is beyond words and material world, your dancing brings love to heart every lover in the world to love his/her lover stronger!Keep it up! هنر نزد ایرانیان است و بس

  • I like the beat of Persian music. This dancers rhythm is fun to watch. Too bad that they got involved with islam. Even the Parsi in that land are honorable and productive..Damn islam.

  • lol yeah !!!!

  • There is no better dance than persian one..

  • khili qashang offerin mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmma

  • is she a second generation? if so, you should appreciate her effort! Sadly, Most of the Second generation girls cannot dance!

  • Royal!!!Original!!!

  • For anyone who likes to compare this girl´s dancing with other Iranian examples, go on this site to the clip Dota Parande with the singer Leila Forouhar, and watch the singer dance. That clip was made in the seventies just before the Islamic Revolution, and Leila was famous for her dancing on-stage. Watch, compare if you like, and enjoy!

  • I don't get the point if she keeps repeating the moves again and again o_o

  • Hedga, what you see is the way girls danced at the old royal Safavid and Qajar courts in Iran, let us speak of a way of dancing centuries old. You see the same movements being repeated because they sensually underline the theme of the song, two birds symbolizing two lovers. The classic art of Persian dancing has almost dissappeared over the years, which I think is a pity, because it´s a very ancient and beautiful art form.

  • Wow that's great! thank you for explaining this to me :D I understand now! ^^

  • Now this is the type of beauty and sensuality and demurnesss that ought to become the sensation of music, not those ugyly hooris Brittany and Christina and all those other clones. I would motorbike over the bodies of all the playboy centerfolds to kneel and kiss this womans hand and pray that she would favor me with her company. In her dance she demonstrates how some woman need not even sing to express their beauty.

  • The big difference between Arab and Persian dancing is that Arab dancers move a lot with their bodies, while Persian dancers show their sensuality with just a set of arm and hand movements. I agree with you saying that women need not sing to express their beauty... but do you agree that they don´t even need to move their hips to show how beautiful they are?

  • It is beautiful, I love it

  • I really Liked the way that she danced, and I think I really like Iran and Iranian girls

  • im persian! and i take persian dance!

  • bah bah! Kheyli khube! :-)

  • mercie!

  • I Will have to confess this is the most beautiful Iranian Dance I have seen so far on the Net.what makes it special is that she is not just dancing but she has Harmony in her movements and she actually dances with the rhythm and that is what makes it Awsome !

is that you dancing Royadream ? or do you know who that lady is ?

  • actually, her moves also match the content of the music, e.g. when the music talks to god she raises her hands above her head.

  • wow.....so koooooooooooooooool the music and ofcourse the girl she is very beautiful lady

and her dress is awesome......keep it on..

  • is deze video op een bahai dag gemaakt toevallig in nederland??

  • simply brilliant. ive never a seen a dance so evocative.

  • cooool!

  • I'm not even close to being Iranian nor do I speak Farsi, but I soooo enjoyed BOTH the music & the dance. As a citizen of the WORLD, I appreciate ALL cultures and the contributions we have ALL made to it, esp. through ART. Can someone tell me the name of song and/or artist?

  • Hi there, I'm happy you liked the dance and music. The name of the song is "khodaye mastoon" and the singer is "Bijan Mortazavi".

  • WOW Finally a good comment on world music. I find 98% of comments in youtube are hate comments against all cultures. Peace to you. I am not Iranian either but enjoy all cultures and learn from them.

  • Don't know much about Persian dance (sorry) but I thought you danced beautifully! The song was amazing and you looked very graceful, esp. your hands. That was really good! :0)

  • hey gal i luv ur skirt...plz give it 2 me..

  • This lady dances very well. I love folklore. Just excellent.

  • Not bad!

  • khaste nabashi

  • You are soooo GOOD

    AAfadeen!!!

  • I suddenly remembered seeing the same movements as those of dancing girls in Parthian and Sassanian representations. I am talking of Persian dsnce 2000 years ago....

  • She shoud have done it in slower motions. a more beautiful dress wouldn't have hurt either!!

  • This is definitely an artistic harmonic and beautiful dance which is consistent with the music.

If you are looking for a real Iranain classic folklore dance here you are.

God bless you and hope to see more clips from you in the near future.

  • I think you just want to provoke here. Now, you got the right to like your own music as others have. For example. I hate reggaeton. But still I won´t attack others on liking it. You don´t know much about Persian culture, so you can do two things: learn about it, or just not listen to this clip. I lived in Iran, speak Farsi, and I loved this clip. The girl dances great, and the music is typically Persian folklore. I see most people here will agree with me.

  • The movements are beautifully meaningful corresponding to the song romantic words. It's about two fallen in love away from each other but the hearts are close asking the Lord of Love(God)let them join, all the hand movements are sing of in-love birds joining each other. I don't blame you on your impression, lack of Persian language wouldn't help.

  • Kheyli mamnun for the explanation, I interpreted the bird movements correctly by hearing the word "parastoo". My Farsi is not so good as it should be, having lived in Iran (and loved it) for years.

  • real & smooth dance!

  • BRAVO

  • absolutely fantastic, well done!

  • ¿do you know what's the name of the song?

  • Kheyli qashange! Best posting of an Iranian dance on this site. The girl does it perfectly and she is lovely.

  • Nice dance. Beware of collusion and technology used against us by the regime in power in the USA. They are inhumane war criminals and have done forced injections, murders, abuses in their courts. Welcome global war if necessary to topple the international regime of collusion and and technology and terror. Collusion is when two or more entities get together to cheat.

  • She is good!

  • kheli gashange..damet garm!

esme ahang- Bijan Mortezavi- Khodaye Mastoon

  • Some responses are really crazy. Why so much arguemens?

Simply just watch the dance and enjoy it. The girl does it great and she is very decent. Tha is exactly the nature of Persian dance.

    Thanks for the post. Perfect.

  • kheili ghashange!

  • beautiful. this girl is so good!

  • kheili koob bud!!Esme ohang chie lodfan,mersi!!

  • very nice ,you are very good dancer.this is a art of persian/ iranian.don't listen to people like tom david he doesn't know anything this is a foolish if you think belly dance is good because of naked women you are so chip and better go to bars and look at naked women there . she is iranian girl and this dance is our calture.make your self inform before give comment.

  • Dear browntiger:

Please show me where I said that belly dancing is good because of naked women? Please read more carefully next time. I only implied that Persian dance is not more erotic simply because the girl's parents would simply not permit their daughters to show their total and true femininity as they do in Egyptian dance.

    Sincerely,

    Tom David

    Sincerely,
