  • I have an original honda HS35, fw190bvi, but I know jack about it. I know it badly needs an oil change, but have owned it less then a few months (previous owner didn't do any main I think). How do you go about draining the oil from it? do you simply tilt it? btw the thing is a beast and very durable.

  • @Lightsylvan remove the oil dipstick and tip the machine with the front end up in the air .... have a pan underneath to catch the oil ...... the engine holds .74 qts 3/4 of a quart) of oil. BTW, remove the top cover (red) and look at the front of the engine (closest to the auger) and you will see the drain plug sticking out of the block and the usual lawnmower type oil refill location and cap!

  • Blue and yellow just like spoon!

  • spoon tuned?

  • @cupster07 lol...

  • I bought a used HS35 and having performance problems. I put in newoil and new spark plug, What did you do to tune this up. Mine runs OK, but does not move much snow, the paddles might be shot or teh belt is worn. What did you do to get it tuned up like this? Thanks

  • interesting, my oldest craftsmen has never even had an oil change until a few weeks ago, it is around 9 or ten years old and gets used anually for plowing my driveway and making snowboard jumps...still works amazingly. i expect better with my 2007 full size craftsmen which i will maintain properly. it plows boat loads of snow no problem. i drive a honda but those weak motor are not good in snowblowers, just civics

  • Rascles- You know nothing about engines- weak motors- tecumseh are the weak motors, throwing rods at any given time. "Has never had an oil change", guess you are looking to throw a rod. I just repowered my Noma Canadiana with a GX240, i removed my 10hp tec and went with an 8hp honda and it is a 10x better motor, do some research before you start spewing crap about honda.

  • you're a clown, craftsman rips through the snow banks and makes me snowboard ramps all day long with a 10 year warranty.

  • rascles: craftsman are know to use the cheapest bearings and the gearbox is just funny to look at.

  • Honda will destroy any craftsman in quality and reliablity.

  • @rascles crapsmans are junk at least the new ones are. My money is on a ariens since they actually make snowblowers out of steel, not plastic

  • Japanese all the way.

  • i need the mode for the tuning

  • wow. makes me wanna create snow...

  • Nice!
