  • 5 bucks says this dude is in jail for molesting

  • Great video for someone new to audio equipment.

  • Thanks for the vid to help people get started on a budget.

Phantom power does nothing to the sound quality of a microphone. Phantom power is used to power condenser microphones so you don't have to use batteries. Dynamic mics do not need or use phantom power.

Please Please send money on a good professional vocal mic. Your voice is what people are listening to and a bad sounding mic is tiring to listen to. Musicians don't use cheap mics, there is a reason. It is the #1 piece of gear

  • OK, how to do this even cheaper... LOL. Almost everyone has a laptop or a pc, obviously if they are reading this. Then you go and get your Rock Band mic (which most video game junkies already have), your old iPod headphones and download Audacity and whala! You have an almost FREE PoD Cast studio ;) If you have guest speakers, just plug another mic into your PC/laptop and hand your buddy the mic .... special effects can be gained for free online to plug / cut or hack into your Audacity recording.

  • good info man thanks for sharing. I still dont really get what the mixer is for if its a one person podcast though.

  • @ M3NTA7 hey guy, as a hint, the sm 58 is no condenser mic. it is a dynamic mic. it is working on the basis of pressure gradience. even the famous sm 57 compared with the sm 58 is dynamicly working. the only difference is that the sound waves hit the membrane from front-, and backside as well. this makes the sm 57 so well responsive by sound and its wide frequencies.

furthermore a condenser mic. is made for better responsiveness of higher, more brilliant sounds.

  • you're a retard -- all macs are "Macintosh"

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks for the tutorial!

I have a loud computer, how can I block the ambient sound? Or does a condenser mic help with that, like the Shure SM58?

  • @MichaellanHenry... All you need is a mixer with an Aux or Fx out and Aux or Fx controls on each channel. With that you can do a mix-minus to add skype calls

  • You did not mention if that mixer can be used for guest and (or) listener call ins? I only ask because I am currently looking for an afordable mixer that I can run Skype through so I can have free guest and listener call ins...Any ideas? I am ready to start getting my equipment, I am currently looking at the Behringer Eurorack Ubb 1002.. Your thoughts please sir. Thank you Michael

  • Wow. Phantom does nothing to the sound. Lol. It's sole purpose is to power condenser mics. Good video. But just be a little more informed about your gear before making a how to video.

  • @juliewillchompyou another thing to add to that: a mac can be a desktop or a laptop. you (podseek) should have said iMac, not "macintosh"

  • @thewii552 -- hey, dummy, "Macintosh" can be used with any mac product

  • @CarMoves Well, I guess you didn't realize that a Mac can be a laptop or a desktop. He most likelely meant an iMac. So you are the dummy

  • Wow you havent done a video for a long time
