  • such a great talent ... so sad it went the other way after his championship ..

  • I like this wave of stupid people calling smart people crazy just because they don´t understand them.

  • It would bother the rest of his life when they said the publicity would damage his character.

  • @elmuraddi Jason Repa is a well-known troll who has a long history of spamming his views on Fischer-related forums, videos, etc. He had some obsession over a man named Bybel and used that name for about 200 YouTube accounts. We had him arrested for stalking Bybel. He got probation, with the condition that he couldn't have or use the internet. He still manages to sneak on once in a while.

  • he was great at chess, but terrible at life

  • @OceanderTethyseus He lived life his way and didn't kill people. I'd say he was great at life. A true rebel

  • @Loudmouf84

he was totally messed up in the head. he was delusional and paranoid. he saw enemies all around him. he broke US law and then spent years evading capture and living in fear of prosecution and imprisonment.

i'm not criticising him for being crazy (that's not his fault) and i'm not saying that the US law was reasonable. i am just saying he had poor life skills, especially in comparison to his chess skills.

  • @OceanderTethyseus I hear you. It's pretty hard tho to have your eyes open to what is really going on and still remain what is considered to be sane in this society. Even tho he may have been off in a few areas, I'm sure he was happy to be out of the matrix if you know what I mean

  • @Loudmouf84

    that is so true.

  • Cool clip.

There's something about Fischer that I like.

  • Comparing Kasparov (or ANYONE) to Fischer is like comparing a go-Kart to a Space Ship. Fischer's skill is out of this world...Stop with the comparisons.

  • Kasparov is the best

    1. Has dominated chess for more than 20 years.

    2. Defended the title many times against all time greats like Anand and Karpov.

    3. Achieve the highest rating ever.

    4. Played tougher opponents and dominated them.

What would Fischer know about any of that? He jumped off the train at the first stop.Fischer never competed in a tournament of opposition strength higher than 12. Moreover, he only completed 12 world class tournaments during his top-flight career.

  • IQ has absolutly no warrant in chess once you start to research and better your game. A mentally handicapped man can play chess on par with anyone as long as he put the effort into making his game better. People over analyze chess and think only the smart can play it. Along time ago I had a 12 year old friend who would go around the world playing chess and he was in Special Ed, he wasn't good because he had Savants, his parents forced him to learn so he could become something despite his illness

  • @kikook222 IQ has everything to do with it. If you have a low IQ, then you can't possibly research games and analyse positions better than someone with a higher IQ. Now you said that research is the key to being good, so if you an idiot and have poor research, critical analysis and thinking, and reading comprehension skills; you will then therefore fail at chess. This is all with your own logic, btw. Having coached plenty of kids in chess, intelligence is the best thing a chess player can have

  • @hasimirfenring1 IQ (a subjective determination, anyway, and one which I give little creedence to, considering all of the factors which are neccesary to be successful in life) is hardly sufficent unto itself to accomplish much of anything. There are many fine chess players who are utter disasters in accomplishing anything in the greater reality. A person with an average IQ, who is highly motivated to work and accomplish, will always achieve far more than someone with a high IQ who isn't.

  • @hasimirfenring1 Dude, chess is 10% talent,90% hard work, research, analyzement and memory. It's more then obvious that you need a certain IQ to solve a tiny problem, for example when a sudden move breaks out and you need to solve it right then right there. The rest of it is all the strategy in your head, all the plans already seen or crafted.

  • The Russians certainly have dominated chess in the 20th century. Even the non-Russian world champions like Alekhine and Fischer have Russian roots or connections.

  • @thegreendestiny Alekhine was most definitely Russian...

  • See...

    iamthewitness.c o m

  • Umm .. the media attacks character .. not chess players.

  • Bobby what could you do better in that cold war?

  • RUSIAN ? omg RUSSIAN!

  • @ed6arx Yeah. Russians are the most stupid people on earth. A German Jew ( Marks ) wrote a book about a theory then the Russian population was told to work long and hard in unsafe environments and NOT have personal possessions! LOL... And they said OK and killed millions to maintain that insanity LOL

  • @shasha1873 You can go kill yourself with that capitalistic brainwashed cunt of a brain you have.Actually the concept of today's individual socialism is so unreachable for you that you'll probably die happy thinking you've done good in life. go for suicide :)))

  • @AstralForeseer You are angry because you KNOW what I am saying is correct. Dude, I am an American. Everything is reachable for us. Even the capital of your country. Go ask Iraqis. They will tell you all about it.

  • @shasha1873 Best clever comeback ever! Good job lol.

That's too bad William Bybel. That was your main account on YouTube. You had a long list of favourites, subscriptions, comments, and other personalization that took you years to develop. All gone!

    cAN YOU SAY OWNED!!!!

  • Face it bybel, you're a weak and impotent COWARD. That's why you prey on young children. The closest you've ever come to a fist fight is arguing on a message board.

This is all you can do, is harass people while hiding in anonymity behind your computer. You are the definition of the word WEAKLING.

You raped two young children and for that you will pay the ultimate price. There is nothing you can do to save yourself now. It's all over for you William Bybel.

  • @tatuco8 Bybel, I have news for you. Nobody is reading anything you're posting. They are getting flagged as spam (and appropriately so) before anyone reads so much as a single word you type.

    Stop begging for attention.

  • @TheSolipsist21 I really would like to play you at chess. Just let me know if and when you're available.

  • @gothos1000 That's like saying that great nuclear physicists are only great at nuclear physics. Chess is a complex game that demands strong visuospatial skills, long and short term memory, abstract reasoning, logic, creativity, sequential reasoning, etc., which is why all the top players are highly intelligent. A low IQ player will never excel at chess because the game taps many of the same skill-sets and intellectual aptitudes as standardized intelligence tests.

  • @ritter89

chess is bassically one big iq test.

  • @unfad1ng no its not.

  • @ForeverTrombone

    oke maybe your right

  • @ritter89 I agree that chess requires the abilities and skills you mentioned, but you forgot about the most important thing and that is hard work.

  • @betlunatic

Yep, hard hard hard work. Bobby read every single book he could find on chess! He would have been marvelous player even if he had below average intelligence!

  • @ritter89 Yeah, Bobby Fischer has one of the highest iq's ever recorded.

  • @ritter89 That's not true at all. Having high IQ only helps when you don't study chess. An absoluty retarded 10 year old boy can play just as well as any current GM as long as he studied all the possible combinations starting from the opening. That's why Kasparov lost to Deep Blue the second time around. Because the computer memorized, as well tap into millions of moves a second, every logical move to do after.

Like a lot of GM's say, it's not talent; it's memory.

  • @ritter89 i agree to that with regards to legends like kasparov or fisher. but nowadays chess becomes a grinding game like poker. asian children use fritz over 8 hours per day and can basically go 2500 elo with leaning all possible openings and motives. i know many people with low iq and education who have 2400 elo.

  • @ltran90 I'm in and out of jail all the time because of child support issues and whenever I'm in jail I spend all day playing chess, mostly with low-IQed blacks who can't even read. They beat me all the time, because that's all they've ever done- sit in jail and play chess. So, I agree that chess has much more to do with intuition than with having a high IQ.

    Tom David

  • @ritter89 Thats the best defenition of chess. Yet chess for grandmasters it has becomed more of a game that neds a suficient standard of memory suficient to maintain a good level of chess. But for averege players it is a far more creative game. I would say it is the most complex game I know of. From the first move say e4 there are 400 20x20 possible moves! its just unveliveble

  • @nicoeste8765 Go learn how to play Go, then you will know what is the most complex strategy game man has ever invented.

  • @BoxStudioExecutive you telling me? i play for the wales league and i am only 19 and already i reached the title of international master, so i do not think learning is apropiate! now i belive you do not play in tournaments while i do. I have played sense the age od 10 and in 9 i am a master

  • Comment removed

  • @nicoeste8765 The best Chess players in the world can be beaten by computer AI, the best Go AI in the world can be beaten by the average club player. There are about 2 * 10^120 legal board positions in Go, 5 * 10^52 legal board positions in Chess. Take a billion. Then count 100 million of those billions. That is how much more complex Go is compared to Chess. There are more possible board positions in Go than there are atoms in our Universe.

  • @nicoeste8765 who gives a shit what you've accomplished? Chess is a joke, in terms of complexity, in comparison to Go. Chess isn't infinite, Go is. In Go, there are 361 possible first moves by black , and 360 possible first moves by white; so after 1 complete move, there are a total of 129,960 possible board positions. After 2 complete moves? 17 billion. (Also, there are more tactically innovative versions of Chess invented in China, Japan, and Korea after it migrated eastwards from India)

  • @ritter89 I have to disagree, just because someones IQ is high or low does not mean they can not "excel" as you said, it may be harder for them to do so, but it is unfair for you to say they will NEVER

  • @ritter89 True but often times geniuses develop social problems and can even become crazy.

  • @ritter89 That's actually completely wrong and has been prove countless times. IQ is a luxery it doesn't exist. Being booksmart doesn't make your IQ high or low it just shows how you retain information. IQ's have many counterparts that you can be good at but bad at the ones that make your socially acceptable. Savants Syndrome is the perfect example of being dumb as dirt but good at a skill.

  • Bobby KU-KU

  • does no one else feel like bobby left something out in this excerpt? or that maker of this video had poor editing? he didn't really say anything. they attacked his charecter and...?

  • ha what a jew stare ,I have you now, it says plainly. damn snakes

  • attacking his character.....just like the present day communist do to Glenn Beck. Communists attack character. What else is new?

  • @toughbutfair32

Huh? Try to be at least somewhat coherent in your hateful comments. Keep trying to turn the USA in a communist country.

  • Comment removed

  • @toughbutfair32 I disagree. His impact as a chess player was immeasurable. His impact as a "Jew-hater" was little to nothing on the world.

  • @toughbutfair32 How many people paid attention to Bobby Fischer because he played the Soviets in the 70s? Tons.

How many people paid attention to Bobby Fischer when he went off the rail on obscure radio stations? At most 100.

    Enough said.

  • @toughbutfair32 He did radio interviews for obscure radio stations in the Philippines, Hungary, and Iceland. See I wish there were exact counts on the number of listeners, but I'd say 100 isn't an understatement.

Also, I actually happen to agree that Fischer's "off the board" persona was borderline dementia, but I guess you were too busy going on a hate-rant of your own.

P.S. You vastly underestimate the importance of Fischer TO the game and entertainment of the 70s era. THAT is the point.

  • @toughbutfair32 Like I said before, his impact on chess is more important than his crazed ramblings. That opinion has not changed. If you don't like it, too bad. As you said before, this is the internet. I have no need to be politically correct. And many other people would agree with my view.

Also, it's free speech. He can say what he wants, and everyone is free (and should) disagree with him. That is completely separate from "impact." "Impact" is completely relative.

  • @toughbutfair32 A discussion of the impact/importance of Bobby Fischer is by default a matter of opinion. If you interpreted "100 people" as a real statistic instead of an understatement to make a point, then you definitely need a lesson on common sense.

And my opinion is biased as opposed to... your unbiased opinion? Don't make me laugh. Bashing the poster doesn't make you appear smarter.

Fischer was anti-Semitic. That's a fact. Was that the focal point of his impact? My opinion is no.

  • @jasonrepa Oh noes, your Tourette's is acting up again, did you see your doctor like I told you too?

Listen, I know you can't sleep at night because of my posts, but please realize that mindless sheep like you are people I laugh at, both in real life and on the interweb. Continue to punch holes in your wall out of your lulzy e-rage, and be sure to send me a picture, I like measuring my internet presence in terms of property damage.

  • Comment removed

  • @jasonrepa Fischer also died in poor health and exiled from his own country, a laughing stock amongst level-headed people, a population unknown to you. I don't want to be Fischer, but I can say with certainty that I've achieved more than you, so your lowly opinion holds no sway here.

Keep drinking Fischer's sperm out of a cup, oh and keep up your temper tantrums, you'll bash in your computer monitor by the time I'm done with you.

  • @jasonrepa You still foaming at the mouth? Although your hilarious bouts of internet-rabies are entertaining, your insults are pathetic, and you're just chaining words together nonsensically. Learn2English.

He knew he could never go back to the US, his renouncement was just a formality. Oh, and there's no herd of "Fischer haters," Americans don't even think about him, what planet are you living on? For all his accomplishments, he is forgotten.

Keep fisting his rotting corpse pls.

  • Comment removed

  • @jasonrepa lol all I see are caps and exclamation points...LOL YOU MAD BRO? its a miracle you haven't bashed your own keyboard in with your angry angry typing.

Fischer knew he couldn't come back, he would have gotten his 90 pound ass kicked for the things he had said. Your hero had the physical abilities of a chimp and the social skills of...well whatever you are.

Now go back to your daily routine of fisting yourself with Fischer's skeletal arm.

  • Fischer was one of the very best chess champions/grandmasters there has ever been, but no one could ever say he was a pleasant individual to be around, and I think that was evident even from when he was young. And it is sad how he would go on a anti semitic tirade blaming the jews for everything that ever happened in the history of the world.

  • Rest in piece, the king of chess.. <'3

  • Ratings inflation, ask Kasparov, Tal before he died or any of the Russian and E.Europe greats - they'd all tell you fischer was the best, fullstop.

  • @gomiamigo

Maybe. But that's only because they have no way to prove they're better, as Fischer has been five years deceased. That and there's a lot of respect throughout the chess world for Fischer. Claiming superiority over him would just be bad publicity.

But I think there are several players that have excelled Fischer, Kasparov one of them. I'd say Morphy, definitely. Maybe even today's top players. Carlsen, Topalov, Kramnik. That caliber of players.

  • Watch this dramatic 1 min. chess promo!!!

     search

    2010 Ontario International Chess Open

  • Tal mostly got the better of Fischer, but Tal himself said that at the time they played "Tal was Tal, but Fischer was not yet Fischer". Meaning of course that he was still young and improving.

Tal must have been great fun to be with from everything I've read. Not even Fischer had a bad word to say about him. Chess masters can be very boring, but not Tal.

  • @Kidsgrove49 there are stories of Tal playing laymen in hotels till the wee hours of the morning.

  • Tal, an incredibly brilliant tactician, was my idol as a young player; somehow I did not regard Fischer highly - wasn't impressed by his games. It was only later that I saw him for the great player that he was, & understood what Tal himself said of him: "Bobby - the greatest chess genius that has descended from heaven."

  • fischer number one

  • Bobby was one of the only guys to visit

Tal...while Tal was in a hospital due to kidney peoblems. They were very respective of each other

  • Yes, Fischer respected Tal alot. I made a homage video to Tal. His tactics were amazing.

  • Incredible! The music, the photos, and the wording was perfecto! And thank you for showing his tombstone at the end...l've never seen it. P.S. lf Morphy was born 100 years later...l think we would have seen INCREDIBLE games!

  • That shady red looks like such a cheating shyster, as opposed to Fischer... who looks honest.

  • mikhail tal? That man was classy in his own way. As close to johnny rotten as the USSR couldve allowed.

  • mikhail tal needs to wax his eyebrows

  • Tal was not in Fischer's league when they both in their prime. Only Kasparov would have been better at the peak.

  • MAYBE

  • As for Kasporov...Boy Wonder...Magnus Carlsen, in my mind, wiill surpase...and become the first 2910 rated player!!!

  • @PGGMMLB 2910?? Are you insane?

  • l've seen every single game ever recorded on M.C., and l must say he is magnificent! Call me insane...just speaking my mind!

  • @kolibrrik

Well, Fischer was 2785 circa 1971. Kasparov was 2851, 66 points higher, 28 years later in 1999.

If Carlsen reaches 66 points higher than Kasparov 18 years after him, that would be 2917 in 2017...which is actually when Carlsen will be 27 and nearing his prime. It's less of a jump than Kasparov made over Fischer, ratings and time-wise.

  • 0:34 Robert De Niro.

  • This guy would have been a God at WOW!

  • Attacking his character? Hmm, can't imagine why.

  • ya your sarcasm is impressive....

  • he wasn't notorious yet. they ganged up on him as a kid

  • who wants to buttfuck whom?

  • Looked like Tal was trying to mesmerize the boy, very strange indeed. Looks like it worked.

  • Strange the face that Tall made, looking to Fischer.

  • He tries to say to him , hey i made to you shit with my last move, what are you waiting to resign? and Face Bobby says, Oh shit i lost

  • he did that against everyone

  • its true, what he said
