  • im probably going to be so scared when I solo my first time

  • Hey thanks for share your first solo with us man! I'm 16 years old, the next year I going to star the private pilot part, this is an inspiration for me really thanks again!

  • i am interested in going for my certification in flying cessnas. can u please tell me how many months/hrs i need and the cost i would appreciate it alot

  • @nathanhall94 It really depends on the flight school so its worth calling around and asking. The one I go to I pay by the hour and it ends up being about $90 for the plane and $50 for the instructor so your looking at $140 an hour for lessons and by the time its all said and dont you are looking at 40 hours give or take unless of course you are super skilled and get everything every time.

  • @WTurbiasz thank you very much for getting back to me.. should i get books and read on cessnas please help me out

  • @nathanhall94 Honestly the best thing you can do for yourself in the interm on the cheap is load up flight simulator hop in a Cessna and learn the instruments inside and out. Learn how to read sectional charts, learn how to do VOR navigation. I know it sounds crazy but knowing all this stuff ahead of time will save you a ton of time and in the end money.

  • Congratulations on your Solo! but kinda risky to be occupying yourself flying solo for the firrst time and filming yourself.

  • @Cessnagirl1 Probably right and if I had it to do all over again I probably would have left the camera at home.

  • So what the Glide Scope on a typical landing?

  • O'Yeah my question. What about Night flying?

  • manuevers like what you would see from the Blue Angels? LOL

  • On my first solo, my left engine lost power and just made it over the power lines by about 6-8 feet, nice ain't. Never made it more than 300 feet and brought it home in one piece!

  • @Jc71149 WOW thats crazy, on a first solo no less. Im not sure if I would want to get into a airplane again after that...

  • @Jc71149 Was your engine a piece of shit?

  • @Jc71149 i think that u r lying... first of all, im pretty sure that a student pilot does his/her training in a single engine aircraft and then moves on to getting a multi engine rating after he/she has recieved their ppl where as u say ur first solo was in a multiengine... second of all, a double engine aircraft is capable of flying with only one engine, losing one engine does not mean u lose 50% power... this is what many beginners and uneducated people think... plz link me to ur flight school

  • @TheYozStudios This guy was a private instructor doing it for me in his spare time. He only had 1960 something Cessna 310

  • Who's the dyslexic one?

  • Take that 152, bring it to about 10,000 ft MSL, next step: explain the experience + how long it took to get that high up.

  • @chair5432 ROFL it would take 3 hours to get a 152 up that high ....LOL

  • @chair5432 I've done 11,580 MSL in a 172. The first 9500' were a solid 800fpm but the last 2000ft took about 35 minutes of circling at best climb

  • How do you capture the audio so well? Do you have some device that sets squelch for your camcorder?

  • @liamtnelson1 Just a external microphone that I stick in my headset :). Its a sloppy approach but it works out well.

  • lol@ description "In theory you are supposed to practice manuevers and such but I just flew and enjoyed the sights"

  • What a nice feeling. I will never forget my first solo. Coming out of the plane, my CFI sprayed me with sweet, sticky orangesoda called "Solo". Norwegian eqvivalent for Fanta.

  • I have a question to get your Privates Pilots License what the procedure and how many solos do you have to do

  • @Agentjamaica Thats a great question, im working on my license currently. To get your license you need to go to a local aero club, talk to the instructors and talk to them. Get a orentation flight and make sure its something you really want. (it gets expensive fast), after that buy up to date books including FAA 2012 rules and regulations. To get the license you need to pass the ground school test so as you start training work on that to.

  • @Agentjamaica (Answer number 2) solo flights depend on your instructor and the current flight rules. All in all for the license you need 40 hours min, however for a solo it depends on your instructors thoughts on your performance. I hope this helps (and for any readers if im wrong shoot me a comment and ill change anything (but i dont think i got anything wrong)) Good luck and Good Flying - Airplaneaddict21

  • @Agentjamaica you need 20 solo hours and 20 hours of dual flight ( with an instructor). get atleast a 3rd class medical, pass a writen exam, oral exam and finaly your check ride with a flight examiner, cost range from $7000 to $12,000. dpends on your overall natural skill at learning and if you flight more than once a week you can cut your cost that way. most important, have fun and its something you will never regret doing..

  • Whats the button on the yolk for?

  • @RedDemon99 Its for the radio, you push the button to talk to ATC.

  • @RedDemon99 "Push to Talk" button, for transmitting voice.

  • @RedDemon99

    yoke is for steering

    yolk is for eating

  • @RedDemon99 Front mount turrets HAHAHA or the rockets.

  • I hope ZERO fellow pilots are shooting video any time during their first solos.

  • My solo was different i just stayed in the pattern and did 3 full stops

  • thanks for this video reminds me of my first solo flight cessna 150..

  • im shitting my pants just thinking of doing my solo flight

  • @9gent Nah, you will do fine. I was shocked how easy it was once I wrapped my head around the fact that it was just me. Honestly the hardest part was watching my CFI walking out of the airplane and telling me to go have fun.

  • @WTurbiasz yea thanks man

  • Nice flying, Cessna 152 is very nice airplane. And very friendly to flying. Some day I wish i get a PPL to. Now I am LSA pilot :-) good luck in your flying career.

  • It's a very instructive vid. Thanks.

  • i really want to be a pilot, is it hard to get into??

  • @tredub91 Nope just find a flight school and join up. You will learn quickly that what makes airplanes fly is MONEY, its not cheap but gret fun.

  • @WTurbiasz how much is a little plane like this cessna 152?

  • @tredub91 Depends on alot of factors. THey are not in production anymore so you have to get it used and I have seen ones that need alot of work at $15,000 to ones that are in very good condition for $30,000

  • @WTurbiasz Tell me about it... the worst part is the ratings and hours for a simple commercial rating. Worth it, but hard to come by.

  • @tredub91 GOOD FISICAL CONDITION AND MONEY IM JUST GOT MY PRIVATE

  • Thanks indeed - a feeling like being next to you in the cocpit (still have to fight for my PPL...). Was exploring the instrumental pannel as well...

  • That was actually a very nice vid. Thank you, sir.

  • Nice. Received my Private License from Richmore Sch'dy in 96. Coming back in soon for my BFR. Also, not trying to nitpick, but that was the Mohawk River you were flying over not the Hudson. If you haven't already done some of your longer cross countries remember to maintain odd/even plus 500 for VFR separation. Happy and Safe Flying!

  • @akfox38 Your right I noticed that after I had the video all done and figured no one locally would watch it and notice the wrong name of the river...LOL You proved me wrong, seems so long ago I take my check ride next month :)

  • Very enjoyable video, i felt as if i were you... :-)

  • Did I see correctly that you were flying with Richmor????

  • @nitsaw Yup RIchmore out of schenectady.

  • are u trying to become a commercial airline pilot?....or is this just for fun?

  • @parkzonecorsairtips No this is just for fun. Way to much work to be a commercial pilot and the money isnt all that good in the end. Sad to say but the industry pays next to nothing now.

  • @WTurbiasz well im working on becoming a commercial airline pilot.....yea money is a problem but i'll get there.....

  • @parkzonecorsairtips Thats excellent and my comment was in now way trying to deter you from what you love and want to do. It really just wasnt for me to do a career change at this point in the game but if you are just starting out then by all means go for it. It truelly is a proffesion of LOVE.

  • @WTurbiasz yea.....im going for it....will do my best...

  • that's some first solo.

we just did a circuit and landed

  • @updougdown So perhaps the title is a bit misleading because technically the first time on my own was 3 takeoffs and landings in the pattern. This was really the first time I was allowed to venture out and hey I didnt get myself lost so thats a bonus :)

  • @WTurbiasz yes, this is your first solo cross country . . . hope your training is going ok

  • Nice video I like it. What kind of camera did you use? Came out nice and clear.

  • @iflightsim Its a JVC Everio GZ-HD7U, its was their entry level 3 chip high def camera with a hard drive built in. They dont make them anymore which is a shame because I love it.

  • I've done a instruction flight with a Cessna 152, but not solo.

It was very cool! Nice video!

  • hey, congratulations!

  • awesome

  • Great job bud ! You're going to enjoy the hell out of this !

  • Watch out at 5000', you have to be ifr to fly every 1000' interval above 3k; need to stay every 1500' feet interval (3.5, 4.5, 5,5) great vid though, mine's next month!!!

  • @spikesonthebrain Thanks for the tip I look forward to seeing your video.

  • Congratulations, dude!!!

  • hey, how much is the rental per hour? Grats btw

  • @yragorn about $110 an hour

  • Hey my comment never stayed :(

Anyway Congrats Tek, and I am so jealous right now. I can't wait to get up there with you and try some 3D stuff with the Cessna.

I wasn't aware you were that close to soloing. Regardless that was a fantastic Vid

  • @Waldopepperaxel about the closes we can get to 3d stuff is a stall and partial spin...LOL. Just make sure to bring the camera :)

  • All right tek! I did not know you were taking lessons. Congrats!

    Matt

  • @2bflyer Thanks man, I started a few months ago and just kind of do it a little bit at a time.

  • Congrats on your solo, great vid!

  • haha i really enjoyed watching this, i would never do this in real life i would be to scared! 5*

  • Nice flight ......

  • I like it... 5/5

    Congratulations on your solo

  • Thanks for sharing your solo flight! Really enjoyed, I'm hoping I'll be sitting there someday! :)

  • Congrats on going solo. I'm working on my PPL. Got my solo for circuits in Nov and am waiting to get my solo for our practice area here at Brampton Flight Centre in Brampton, ON Canada! Happy Flying!

  • @EAPENJJ circuit is great because you get to be by yourself but close enough to where your not too far from the field. Once you go out into the practice area its a different ball game and at least for me it was a good amount of adrenaline...LOL

Its funny because you start to second guess yourself alot with no instructor there but after a little bit you settle right in.

  • Yep totally. I'm just finishing off diversions with my instructor and some instrument time and I'll get my solo release. Totally looking forward to that! Happy Flying and hey good luck on x country flights coming up next!

  • @EAPENJJ xcountry will be fun now that all the procedural stuff is done. Its all good practice yes but I am so done with stalls and steep turns and turns around a point...LOL

  • fantastic...where you being vectored at all times?

  • @BRADHblackdragon No this was a VFR flight but I wanted some ATC in the backround to break appart the engine noise. Not to mention its fun listenting to Boton Center as I cant hear them at home on the ground. Once your at 5000 feet you can hear traffic from all over.

  • @WTurbiasz okay thanks..im just trying to ascertain the politics shall we say of the route of your flight...i mean clearly allowances must be made for other aircraft in the vicinity...did you have a certain fly zone you were allowed to roam in as you desired, with atc keeping an eye on other traffic for you?fantastic achievement though,,,beats a cessna on msflight sim i guess-hehe

  • @BRADHblackdragon Because its a VFR flight you dont even need to file a flight plan. You can go where you want as long as you stay out of certain airspace and only then if you need to enter it do you give ATC a call and request a clearence. As far as avoiding other aircraft you just have to look out for them. Now you do have the option of requesting flight following from ATC and they will keep track of you on radar for traffic avoidance but its only on a time permitting basis.

  • @FS9VATSIM You can if you have one. This one didnt so you have to pretty much do it yoursef. If the wind isnt too bad you can trim the plane out and i will pretty much stay in on the same course and altitude with very minor corrections.

  • Very cool dude. That had to be a serious adrenaline rush.

  • @embraerss Sweet, I would have to pay about 16k :(

  • Very nice!! :) How much does a license approximately cost over there?

  • Very nice and congratulations bud!

  • Congratulations mate !! :D

  • congratulations

  • Very nice! I am starting my first lesson on the 23rd, after 3 years of making excuses to put it off! lol

  • So from the small planes to the big ones. Awesome!

  • Congratulations. Weren't you a pilot already?
